How I see it--ATTN UTAH FRIENDS: See note in red.

I don't know how many times I've preached, "let people do what they want!" At the same time, I don't know how many times in the last year and a half that people have laughed at me for saying what I think and telling it how I see it.

This last week I've realized how blessed I truly am to be able to form the kind of relationship with most people that allows me to let them do what they want but at the same time let them know exactly how I feel about the situation or what they are doing and still have them not take [too much] offense. I mean, they wouldn't come to me if they didn't want the advice and if I was too rude to everyone I wouldn't have any friends....right? Well, I don't care how many times I get laughed at for "calling it how I see it." At least I can sleep at night knowing that the person I care about [whoever it is] knows exactly where I stand about whatever the situation is and that I love them.

So here is me calling it how I see it this week:
note--most of these are just tips for myself that I want to remember.

Call me (or someone you trust) BEFORE you do something super drastic--especially when the consequences could be permanent. After 5 minutes of talking it out, if you still think it's a good idea then, by all means, do it!

Slow the EFF down. With life in general. Life is too great to rush right through some of these really good parts you’re breezing through. stop. breathe. enjoy it.

There might be times when you feel like no one would understand and that there are no words to explain the way that you feel about certain things, so you do something out of the norm to make yourself forget or to prove something to yourself or to others. I get it--Do what you've got to do. But don't completely forget about the deeper issue that made you do that thing in the first place. Yes, I said issue. A mess shoved under the bed is still a mess... You can't just cover it up forever and hope that no one sees it. Eventually someone sees it. Find the words and maybe even try saying it out loud. We can start there.

Some people need to open their eyes and realize that their actions effect other people.  If you know that decisions you're making are indeed effecting someone else's future (whatever the situation)...you should try talking to them about it and figuring your crap out so they can figure their crap out!

I can really feel some changes coming for me and it kind of stresses me out a little when I think about it. But then I take a step back and listen to what I would tell anyone else and I catch my breath. I'm just saying some people better hunker down because home girl has to talk crap out too. For now, just stay tuned.

Everyone needs a day or a night for themselves. So don’t think that someone is mad or upset when they do. They probably just need some “me time” or just sleep…or really, it could be anything ;)

Oh yeah, with that--This is me announcing that I will be staying home tonight and trying to be in bed by 10:00 pm. *insert jaw drop of disbelief* So any good news, gossip, questions or hanging out after 10pm can wait until tomorrow :) You know I love you but it’s got to happen for my sanity! [There, I did it. Proud, Nieko?]

With love. xoxo,
-Jenn
(Don’t even get me started again on the reveal of Gossip Girl last night. Ugh!)

Spoiler Alert. Watch last night's GG before reading (if you're a fan.)

I've been known to cry at the most ridiculous moments in movies and TV shows.  What can I say? I'm a sucker for love and relationships...and the biggest loser. GAH! [That one gets me every time.]

Sue me.

But who else watched GG last night? I mean, I kind of knew what was going to happen but COME ON!! Why?? For the love of Chuck and Blair, WHYYYYY?!?!?!

Here's my little blurb about love today: Trust your heart.  If you love someone you HAVE to do what you can to be with them despite what other people might think--especially if they love you back. Don't worry about what other people are going to think or about keeping up with a certain lifestyle.  Come on, no one is really going to care that you become the Princess of Monaco (even though that would be bomb if you really loved the prince...but that's beside the point).  If you marry for semi-love with a side of castle topped with a gorgeous crown, chances are higher that you will end up miserable and turn into a run away bride.  Do everyone else a favor and end your love story right and by trying the 'Happily Ever After' alternative first.  You know...The 100% love thing. Even if you know it's going to take a little more work.

Oh and seriously?  Her wedding.  Holy, Vera Wang it was fab.

Sleepy Foot.

You know that tingling feeling you get when your foot falls asleep?  It's uncomfortable, it's super annoying, you don't really know why it happens, and you find yourself deciding if you should just let it pass, slowly wiggle your toes to get it back to normal, or just get to the point and stomp the crap out of it until it gets better. Yeah....That. Everyone has different ways of dealing with it.  Just like we all have different ways of dealing with change in the people around us and with our lives in general.

I've had a few these moments over the last couple of weeks.  I'm not actually talking about the whole foot falling asleep thing, although that did happen to me this morning [hence the pathetic analogy.] I'm just talking about those moments when things are relatively "good" and then all of a sudden it's like "WTH?" [entire saying said like Pauly D, of course :)] Like, how did this happen?  How did I get into this situation? When did things change with that person?  Why do they all of a sudden think they've got the moves like Jagger? Or when did life get so jacked and confusing? I mean, yesterday was fine and then today it's like..whoa, life is crazy and dramatic. HURRY. Ambulance. Wah. Wah. Wahhhhhh. That kind of a thing. [Don't worry, I'm having a really good day! I'm just saying..in general it's those kinds of frustrating situations.]

Here's the LD.

Like a sleepy foot--people and situations get annoying and life will inevitably get hard and uncomfortable at times.  But the cool part of it all, in the midst of all of the suckage, is that we are in complete control of how we deal with the situation.  We can choose to brush it off and say, "Yeah, I'm a little miserable that [so and so] said/did something really hurtful to me... But NBD.," OR just face the fact that you don't know what made your relationship with [that one person] all of a sudden change because simply stated: people grow apart sometimes.  Whatever the situation is, you can decide that you're not going to let it change who you are just so you can 'roll with the crowd' because lezzzbehonest, sometimes the crowd isn't the best thing to follow. I don't know how many people would say that this "brush it off" approach works 100% of the time but sometimes there is nothing you can do or say to fix the situation or explain how you feel so you just kind of have to let it go. This one is hard for me to do most of the time because I like to just talk everything out, especially if they really bug me.. but really, there will be times when there is nothing that can be said.  So we leave it, we move on, and we get over it.

Then there's the toe wiggling situations--The kind where you really don't like how uncomforatble you feel so you decide to fix things a little bit at a time because we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or have to do too much work to make it better.  We can pick at things and hint that we are upset here or there (the toe wiggle) OR we can just jump straight to the point, stomp our foot and say, "LISTEN--you aren't that cool" or put our foot down and decide that we are going to STOP having that pitty party we've been having for an entire year about how hard life is and we grab life by the proverbial horns (hahaha thank you Danielle RHWNJ) and we stomp the crap out of the sucky situation we're in until it's gone.

I honestly don't care what approach you take to "deal" with your situations.  But can I just suggest that stomping things feels so much better and works SO much faster?  Just figure out what you've got to do for your unique situation and just deal with it the best way you can. Don't just pretend that you are "brushing it off."  That's not really taking care of it...and... on the real, we all know that you're faking that you're "OK."

Oh, and while you're at it... don't be someone else's constant "Sleepy Foot."  really. we all have our own crap to stomp out. So if you want someone to help you get rid of yours, be nice and return the favor. It's not all about you. K? k.

Take Control. Get Rid of the crap--Happy Friday!!

Wednesday's Witty Words of the Week

"You have to remind me of things.  I had a brain tumor--I'm missing part of my brain." -Institute teacher
*Awkward laugh*-Me and Liz
Not joking. That happened to us after we didn't tell the institute teacher that the paper she was missing was really in her hand the whole time.  What were we supposed to say?!  haha. I usually don't feel awkward, but I did then.

"He was my soul."
-Drunk Deena in reference to Vinny Leaving
Oh yeah. I'm sure he was your soul, Deena...
WTH?

"Ok. Ghosts are now only a day time topic..."
-Nieko
This is legit.  We had a few spooks this last week and talking about it in depth at 3:00 am doesn't help with the scare factor. at all.

"Doesn't Jenn look pretty lately?"-Bradlee
BAHAHHAHAHAhahahaha. As opposed to every other day when I look like a dog? HA. Oh backhanded compliments.  J/k. He didn't mean it rude. In fact, it was nice.  The best part was the other boys' reactions...-"ummm. You don't say that to a girl" --Willy.
haha. I love it.

 "I'm going to Applebees!"
-Mom
Mom asked us what we were doing (on speaker phone with me, Sam and Cole) and she randomly shouted this with SO much excitement.  We died laughing because of the way she said it!

"I want to watch that like..like..like an onion loves chips!"
-Sam
He was trying REALLY hard to come up with something to express how much he wanted to see a certain movie...and that is the only thing he could come up with.  haha. I had to explain to him that not only did the "like an onion love chips" thing not make any sense whatsoever but that you can't compare a love thing to wanting to watch something.. Back to the drawing board with that one, Sam! Still..super funny.

"How the eff are you supposed to tell a guidette apart without their extensions?"
-Deena
Who else thought it was painful seeing her hair in a rat's nest like it was? And Jwow and Pauly ripping them out? Aw.ful. I still don't get how it could get that bad. I don't care how drunk you are. omg.

"You can't kiss anyone without me telling everyone about it."
-Nieko
HA. It's true.  Unless I don't tell him next time?! hmm....yeah. Pretty sure he'd still find out and post it publicly on my Facebook.  smh.

"Jenn, I think we need some space."-Liz
"Agreed." -Bradlee
No words.  Only laughter will suffice... hahahahahhahahahahahahaha

"Latisha?  That's a great name.  My sister's name is Keesha...she's also white."
-Sunday School Teacher
I wish you could all meet this Sunday School teacher.  He's seriously the wittiest kid.  But like, weird at the same time.  I just love that he says things so quick without thinking and you wonder "OMG, where did that come from?" or "did that really just happen?" He's that kind of kid.  But this comment in Sunday School had me laughing for a while.  It must have been the way he said it.  It's true though, this Latisha chick was the whitest girl I've ever seen.  Some parents.

"It's my birthday.... It's my birthday...But, it's my birthday!"
-Easton
bahahaha.  I know the feeling of thinking that everything goes your way on your birthday.  I've just never seen a grown boy get so into it. ha. I love it.  It was his birthday, indeed, and I let him get away with some things for sure.  But Easton, I'm NOT sorry for eating your Sonic mint before knowing how delicious they really are. The end.

"When are you writing your book?"
-Alex after giving him some advice
We've been talking about the idea of me writing a book for a while...I just need the perfect idea:) ...and more time in the day.

We're all different.

I have an interesting group of friends here in Utah.  Honestly, a lot of us are so different that I sometimes wonder how it works--but it just does.  We've got some who started out being a little shy and naive all the way up to the people who will say and do just about anything without being embarrassed about it whatsoever.  Some people come and go out of our group but there are always those solid few.

Ever since last week (when almost EVERYTHING was getting on my nerves) I've been trying to stop getting annoyed with the little things people do this week and start learning from them.  Maybe that's why I haven't been able to blog/rant about anything this week..hmm.. makes sense.  Sure, there have been a few little vent sessions in person and via text (I'm human) but overall I've just kind of tried to let them go.  Like one of my friends said this week, "You just have to pull yourself out of the situation so you aren't annoyed."  Words to live by.

Here are some of the things I've really learned from my friends (individually) as I've observed them...

Sometimes things don't go the way that you want them to go but no matter what you have to be strong and never let your values go out the window.  Accept people for who they are and see the good in them but never forget about what you believe in the process...no matter how hard it is :)

Dating and marriage isn't the only important thing in this world. I know that in Utah or at any Church school that it's really hard to see...but it really is true.  There are other things that matter in life too!

It's OK to laugh at yourself and your situations.  Sometimes the cards you are dealt aren't always the easiest to handle but you can speak about them openly and laugh about it every now and again--It's healthy.

Have the confidence to put yourself out there when it comes to relationships and goals. Maybe they haven't worked out in the past but seriously, confidence is GOLDEN and speaks a lot about a person.

Being the good girl works.  You can be strong in your beliefs and still have just as much fun as everyone else!

What it means to be a true friend.  One who knows when there is a problem and will listen to you when you're sad or frustrated, who will drop everything they are doing just to spend time with you because you need something to help you forget about all the other crap that life sometimes brings,  and one who will be excited for you when something good happens and sad with you when something crappy happens.

There might be times in your life when you feel like you don't seem to fit in with a certain group of people but it's OK to mingle with people who maybe don't believe some of the same things that you do; that's what makes life so interesting.  Sometimes you just have to set all of that stuff aside and just get to know people and accept them for who they are and not change yourself or try to change anyone else in the process.  Just be yourself.

There are totally good guys out there who are genuinely nice. Believe me.

Being happy with who you are and where you are in life is something that takes hard work and dedication.  The goals we have to set for ourselves to reach that point might seem a little outrageous to everyone else but if you are dedicated to making it happen you can achieve anything you want to achieve while still keeping the rest of your life in check: family, school, church, friends, relationships...It's all about balance.

You can know someone for a short period of time and just "click."  You just have to genuinely want to get to know them, show that you care, be yourself, and just say what think.  Honestly. If you want to connect with someone, just tell them something you're struggling with..haha. that will do it.

You are in complete control of your attitude.  You can have what will seem like the crappiest week in the world to everyone else and still be able to say that it was a good week simply because you chose to make it a good one. It's fascinating.

Don't think too much.  If you do, you'll probably end up making up crap that probably wasn't even an issue to begin with and you'll stop yourself from putting yourself out there because you're too busy freaking yourself out.

Boys and girls truly can be just really good friends. Friends who can stay up and talk about anything and everything until super early in the morning all the time and never run out of things to talk about, who you can "stalk" people with, give great advice to others with, be yourself with, and someone who you instantly go to with any drama--It just works.

Be who you are. Always.

Keep your priorities straight.  Whatever you do, give it your all.

Everyone should have someone who they go to for encouragement to become that better person they want to be.  Life is hard and it's so easy to lose sight of the things that are truly important.  But with the help of a good friend you can always have a friendly reminder to do better and to be better :)

I could honestly go on for days, but I won't.  I think the biggest thing I learned this week is that life is so much more enjoyable and people are so much more tolerable if you 1.) don't put yourself in situations where you will be annoyed with them and 2.) start learning from the people you are around everyday.. I promise, it will help with your attitude.

At the end of the day, everyone in this world is so different, just like each of my friends are all so different...but it works because we are all able to bring so many different things to the table and are able to learn from each other in the areas we lack.

Life would be so boring if we were all the same.

Thank you diversity!

Wednesday's Witty Words of the Week

"I was going to cook you Chicken Cutlets.."
-Drunk Snooki
Only Snooki can get away with getting so drunk and saying this to her boy friend randomly at the bar, when food wasn't remotely a topic of conversation, and still keep said boy friend.  I heart drunk Snooki.

"Goodnight, Nicole"
-Cole
He really peeked into my room earlier this week as I was going to bed and said [that]in the creepiest/weirdest voice ever and then shut the door.  Sure, it's my middle name but it was super random.  He then came back into my room and we died laughing.  Oh tender moments with my brother.

"You don't know how excited I am right now" -Me, to the stranger man driving the Jeep at the Auto Show as I hopped into the front seat.
"Careful--stuff like that is illegal;)" -Older Jeep Man *insert creepy "joke but not joking" face
I'm not sure, but by his face and tone I think he was talking about prostitution or something.  I just awkwardly laughed. ugggghhhh?

"...single's ward scene... Can't people just have fun?"
-Nieko
This topic seems to come up often. But Nieko finally said it best this week--Why can't people just have fun?!?  Dear people of this world stop, stressing out about stupid things. Have fun.

"I just sucked that SO long."
-Me in reference to a really good round of "Suck and Blow."
Yes, it sounded bad when I sad it.  But I was really proud of how long I kept that card going. The sad part of this is when I replay it in my head, I don't even hear myself saying it.. I hear everyone else making fun of me. Jerks. haha.

"ha. I'm never getting married."-Becca
"Me either." -Me
*insert instant knuckle pound*
The classic part about this was that it was 1.) at church and 2.) without any thought whatsoever.

"No. I cannot create worlds with my dog." -Sunday School Teacher
"What is she trying to do? Multiply and replenish the Earth with her dog?"-Becca
Somehow the Sunday school lesson about the "Tree of Life" turned into a talk about how  she (the teacher) used to think that she would be happy if she never got married and could just be with her puppies.  Then she talked about the day that she decided that she couldn't be happy with just her dog and that she really should change her way of thinking about marriage.  It got weird.  Becca's comments were classic.  I wanted to puke a little. The end.

"Omg. That's in two days."
-Coleman in reference to a PLL commercial
hahaha. Maybe he's been around me too much?

"Super Ghetto."
-Bradlee
First impression? *smh* hmmm..I must have been listening to hardcore rap or something that night. Whatevs.

"Thanks, Nicole."
-One of my male clients in Tennessee.
I'm not joking.  I literally got this in an email today from of my contacts. It's not only funny because Cole did the same thing to me this week but I don't have my middle name attached to ANYTHING at work.  eww. creeped.

My coworker thinks it's a Snooki reference.  If that's the case, I'll go with it.

Weekend Update

I know I've totally been MIA from the virtual world for the last week.  Give a girl a break. I've been busy, K? *insert mob accent* [curse you, Mob Wives].  Honestly, when I found out that my old roommate Becca was coming for the long weekend, I knew it was going to happen.  Not to mention, work as been getting pretty crazy. The funny thing is that I found myself saying multiple times over the last few days, "oh, I should blog about that" because quite a few really good topics/dramas/annoyances came up. So, uh, hopefully I get around to doing it soon. No promises.

Well, your girl had a little bit of a melt down on Sunday night/Monday morning.  I think {Olivia} was feeling a little neglected or something.  I can't figure her out.  But I faced it, talked it out with the right people, and got it under control.  I have people tell me all the time that I seem to have things so put together but the truth is that I rarely take time to figure out things for myself.  That's something that I've re-learned this weekend as it all kind of caught up to me.  I've learned that you can be the best friend, you can be loving, you can care about people's trials/struggles and mini dramas but at the end of the day you HAVE to make sure that you are being taken care of too. Oh, and that it's OK to say "No" sometimes. [thanks, Liz.]  We're working on it.

All-in-all it was a good weekend.  I loved seeing Becca and was glad that she was able to just go along with everything my friends and I did. We went bowling, to the Auto Expo, ate at the PIE, went through a ridiculous phase of playing suck and blow (oh the people who half kissed.. bahaha), played games, hung out, ate at Zupas/Fed the ducks with Ariana and Anna and had a really good "getting to know you sesh" with a couple of the homies.  It was a good/exhausting weekend.

Even though it can get a little overwhelming taking on some of my roles as "Jenn," and I sometimes wish for a little break, I can't help but keep my head in the game because I love the people in my life so much.  (did you catch the HSM reference:)) I really couldn't ask for a better family or a better set of friends for me at this point in my life.  I'm just working on figuring things out like everyone else:)

Until then--Here are a few pics from the weekend--Enjoy :)

Me and the bro's GF, Ariana at the Auto Expo this weekend.
LOVE HER!

Oh hey, handsome boy.

Oh geez.

The Jeep stuff blew my mind.  Do you know the kind of crap they can do? We were off-roading like mad crazy (inside) and tipping Titanic style but, like, sideways. I was freaking out a tad.

I love days off.  [Thank you MLKJ.] Some of the girls and I went to Zupas and then fed the duckies.  So much fun--totally needed.

Yeah, I get it.  Swans are pretty.  But no one talks about how scary they kind of are in real life...

Cole was in a phase this weekend where he liked to snap pennies to see what he could hit. and how hard.  I was the target on Sunday....
Oh Heyyyy Abe Lincoln.

Friday's Favorites since 10 am.

FaceTime with Mom and the Masonator.
makes my day everytime.

Kathie Lee and Hoda.
ok. I watch them everyday but Kathie doing the Hula Hoop today was killing me. I even caught myself thinking "I want to be like KLG when I grow up." not joking. Minus the whole "not good with technology" and drinking thing I suppose.

Having a sister who writes me notes, cards and emails and addresses them like Mason is talking to me.
I love it. Today she wrote me an invitation email from "mason" telling me that his birthday {which isn't until June 24th} would be horrible without his Aunt Jenn there so that I needed to plan on being there. ohhhh mmmmm ggggggg. I wouldn't miss his 1st birthday for anything:) I love the notes.  LOVE them.

Hearing my boss tell Amy and I that we need to decide on a "5 Choices" seminar to go to.  Limitations--Continental U.S.
uh Yeah...we're waiting for one to get set up in Florida, NY, DC or something fun like that.  We know how to work it.  Totally made my day.

Martin Luther King Jr.
Thank you for having a dream and speaking up.  I shall celebrate with a long weekend :)

Sometimes I Paint.

I love painting.  I'm not good at it--I know this.  In fact, I have multiple canvases hidden in my closet of projects that I begin but never intend to use as wall decor.  I just paint to paint.

There's just something about mixing the colors, listening to music, feeling the stroke of the brush and thinking deep thoughts.  I think my favorite part is starting with a blank white canvas and just creating whatever I want to create.  Most of the time I have nothing in mind--like below--and something just happens.  Other times I have something in mind and I end up going in a completely different direction.  But the beautiful part of it all is that I can make it however I want to make it (abilities limiting of course).

Many times I will even take a canvas that I've previously painted and I will cover it up with a thick base coat and just start over and create something new simply because I can.

Painting is kind of like life.  We get to choose how we create it.  Sometimes we mess up and we might not like how things turn out but we can choose to brighten things up and start over or add things to make it better.  It just takes some creativity and some hard work to make it the masterpiece we want it to be.

Note--I really did have a deep thought as to what last night's painting (above) was supposed to represent.  But everyone interprets things differently so I'll leave it to your imagination :)

I won't be hanging it up but it was still fun!

Wednesday's Witty Words of the Week

"Dang it, Liz. We forgot to wear our matching sweat suits."
-Me.
I kid you not.  Last Friday there were two [not so] jokesters that went to the tanning place wearing match sweat suits.  One in Red, one in Purple.  Ridiculous.  The get-up wasn't even cute.  I mean, if you're going to wear something like that and be matchy-matchy to go TANNING then at least have them be PINK or Juicy or something.  really.

"Oh yeah guys.  You're doing such a good job guys, I'm so proud of you."
-Amanda's way of cheering at the boys' church ball game last week.
hahahahaha. I guess some people just like talking in a nice tone instead of yelling and cheering loudly. omg. I can't even do it justice to how funny I thought it was. She was so calm...

"Like--if you think [So and So] is a Lesbian who wants to marry her brother."
-anonymous.
hahaha. this is probably the funniest thing I heard all day yesterday. oh facebook...

"This is a serious situation right now. We're losing weight and we're getting pale. It's like the end of civilization."
-Mike the Situation, Jersey Shore
bahahaha. yep. That does sound THAT serious.  Better GTL like CRAZY!

"Oprah, Barbra Walters and Liz..Go."
-Coleman
hahahahahahaha.  Poor Liz.

"[Dang it] There goes my New Years Resolution." -me
"OHHH. It's OK, Me and Brooks helped you eat it!" -Anna
Uhhh. I wasn't talking about the food..... but thanks a lot ANN-NA!

"Big girl gotta eat!"
-Easton
Aint that the truth?!

"No lies during Truth or Truth."
-Liz
pssssht. What-errrrr, Liz.  hahaha.

"So, I have a question about [So and So]" -Bradlee
"BAHAHA Don't worry. I already asked. She's a little off." -me
Ok this was so rude but so funny. I knew exactly what he was thinking...We were just curious and CORRECT.

"I only speaka de B.S."
-Me and Easton Mocking..per usual
Sometimes I try to speak Spanish to fit in with my homies...and it sometimes comes out like this but with a "Mexican" accent. jajajajaja. oops, did I just laugh in Spanish?. oh yeah.

"Sometimes I just have so many thoughts in my head that I just start typing and this is what happens" post

1--I'm thinking that 2012 is going to be a year of weddings.  I mean I've already heard some June talk and every year, especially as I get older, there is always someone super close to me who gets married. But for some reason I have a feeling that this year is going to be a bigger year for the M word.  Not sure why.  Maybe that has something to do with the fact that living in Utah the topic comes up just a little bit. More than at BYU-Idaho sometimes..like at dinner, bonfires, truth or truth, basketball games, potty breaks, testimony meeting, texting, [...yeah pretty much everywhere.] Maybe I'm wrong, though, about it being a big year for it. Time will tell.  All I know is that yesterday morning as I was walking from my apartment down to my garage, I saw the moon and it was big and beautiful but like, super creepy at the same time and the first thing that popped into my head was.. "OMG. Some big changes are in the midst--hunker down." Maybe the moon thing had something to do with all of the werewolf crap that's on TV and junk but I still started thinking about a few people here and there and some big changes that could be in the midst for them.  Weird. Point of that whole thing is that I just want to be the first one to write it down this year so that you will all owe me a prize if I'm right.  Jk. But if I am right, I will smile, we'll all get dressed up, and we'll celebrate.  If not...well, we'll still get dressed up and celebrate in all our single-ness or whatever, deal? :) uhhh, all I know is that I better crack down on the G part of my GTL like MAD CRAZY just in case.

2-- I love that I can instantly connect with certain people.  I'm not sure how it happens but it just does.  It's like "Oh Hey I'm Jenn" and then not too long after, I'm telling you deep things about my life and trying to give you advice about yours and vice versa.  It's just funny how fast it happens sometimes.  There are so many interesting people in this world and I love it when I make a good connection with someone new.  Each person I've felt that connection with over the years has given me a different perspective to life... I don't believe in coincidences when it comes to the people you meet and the people you "connect" with. You just have to figure out what you're supposed to learn from each of those people...

3--I'm officially boycotting the Bachelor this season.  There are too many other "REAL" things on TV to stay caught up on right now and not enough time to do it. Yes, I'm talking about the Real Housewives, Jersey Shore, Mob Wives...and other Teenage High School dramas. haha. Something had to go--Sorry Bachelor--Take your bimbos, fake love, girl drama and thousands of make outs and shove it. Bring back the Fat Bachelor (More to Love) and I will consider surrendering.

4--I don't believe in awkward silence when it comes to family or good friends.  I think that if you want to say something then you just say something. But if there is a moment where you don't have anything to say, I think that's fine.  Don't make it awkward by drawing attention to the moment that shouldn't  have been awkward in the first place. Silence isn't always a bad thing. Take it for what it's worth from the girl who usually super loud and chatty..

5--I've decided that some people should just let certain people in their lives play cupid or life coach more often.  I know, I know... "But it's my life--you don't know me like I know myself." wrong.  Sometimes I think that people from the outside looking in know you and what you want more than you might know yourself, making their advice just as important to listen too.  AND, might I add, that because they are out of the situation it puts them in a better state of mind to make certain decisions on the matter.  This happened this summer with one of my homies and I know he appreciates us for stepping in. Of course, I understand the whole agency issue or whatever. You can still do whatever you want. So if you don't want the advice then kindly ask the person to step down.  That's totally fine.  But if you have someone in your life who gives you advice and you think that they are really smart and your heart tells you that you should listen to them then maybe you should just do it.  Whatever you choose--just commit to it.

6--Just because things don't go a certain way, it doesn't mean that the world is over.  I feel like people are so whiny and depressed over the weirdest things these days.  [So and so] doesn't like you back--you cry. You pout. you give up.  [Dream Boy/Girl] doesn't make a move, [Princess Gorgeous/Macho Manly] doesn't show they're interested...and instead of getting up and doing something about it or communicating things with words, we mope around for days and well, let's be honest...Moping/frowning causes wrinkles and it's kind of annoying to everyone else around you.  Challenge--don't whine or complain unless you've tried to do something about it :)  *I don't mean to offend anyone at all because I know we've ALL been guilty at one point..But it gets old :)*

Ok. phew. Lunch break is over. I'll stop ranting. BYYYEEE.

Then the snow came.

It's not a cool super power...trust me.

Have you ever seen a Chameleon?

HA. Look at him. Acting all cool and blending in with the RayBans like, "OH, look at me, look at me...I'm a cool Chameleon. [BLAH BLAH BLAH] I change my outward appearance to blend in whatever I'm around. [BLAH BLAH BLAH]"

Uh, News Flash, Mr./Mrs. LIAR...You might look cool sometimes but no one knows who you really are. It's like, are you really pink, red, brown, blue, or green? Or have you forgotten yourself with all the changing you do? No one knows. You're confusing and well, I actually feel bad for you because I know that you don't know who you are.

You don't see me trying to be a beautiful sparkly gold when I'm clearly a dull [yet happy and pretty in its own way] mustard yellow....

Pick a color.
Stick with it.
don't blend in. you were meant to stick out.

FTF :)

1.) Making dinner for my "family"

I made delicious Chicken Taco Salad the other night for Cole, Ariana, Liz and I.
Easy. Boil/Shred chicken. Add Taco Seasoning Packet.  Mix Salad.  Add a few tortilla chips. Thousand Island Dressing. Voila.

2.) Tanning

Remember a year and a half ago when I would go tanning like, everyday?  I starting going again.  I won't let myself get tooo addicted again....but I do love it. A lot.

3.) Queso.

This stuff is a hit.
1lb Velveeta/1 can Rotel (diced tomatoes and Green Chilies).  Place in Crock pot on low for a couple of hours and....fiesta!

I will never buy other tortilla chips again.

..if I can help it :)

4.) Bare Minerals-Mineral Veil

I've been using Bare Minerals for a long time and even though it gets expensive to buy the primer, the warmth and the mineral veil in addition to the foundation...it's beyond worth it.  Don't get stingy with the mineral veil.  This stuff is BOMB!

5.) PLL (Pretty Little Liars)

I love that this show is back on and in my life once again.  I just want to finally know who "A" is..
It's killing me.
Seriously.

Wednesday's Witty Words of the Week

"I love White People."
-Victoria, My awesome dark-skinned frannnnnnnd
I don't even remember what we were talking about at this particular moment but it must have been something super white. obvi. so funny.

"At least the stuff I buy is cool. Couponing? Not cool."
-Scott Disick (Kourtney Kardashian's baby daddy/BF)
This episode was beyond funny.  Kourtney was treating couponing like it was a game and started getting super obsessed with it... Like buying tons of toilet paper just because it was cheap, even though they live at a hotel and don't need to buy such items. So funny. I agree with Kris Humphries when he said, "You're a millionaire. You don't need couponing."

"Your fingers are like little angels on my back."
-Brad
Listen, It's true, I do give a mean back massage... just sayin.  I might need to start charging though.

"With the Best of Friends.."

bahahahahahahahaha. 'Nuff said.

"I was so afraid of flying that I used to roofie myself. It was awesome."
-Brandi, RHW of Beverly Hills
This housewife is nuts.  She has no shame about any of the crazy things that she's done/does.  I don't really like her but this week's episode with her Xanax/alcohol combination was hilarious.

"Uh.... Do we need to go somewhere else?"
-Easton
Oh men and their instant reaction to emotions.  Really though, my homies rock for not thinking I'm a crazy person and for always having the best advice! :)

"My [ ] eyeballs couldn't believe it."
-Nieko.
bahahaha. Puh-lease.

"Whoa. I swear I just read and episode of the Hills just then!"
-Savanna
This is the response I received from Savanna after telling her about my New Year's Eve/last 4 days. haha.  It's true.  Sometimes I feel like my life would make a pretty good drama filled reality show.  And my life isn't even that interesting. It's usually everyone else around me that makes it interesting. And guaranteed I would step up the drama for TV if needed.

"...a drunken 7th grade nightmare."
-A discussion via text.
Strong smells you can only control by covering them up with even stonger smells, awkward dancing, a little booze.....a drunken 7th grade nightmare. ha.

"I had to Lysol my chair!!!!"
-Ariana
I've heard quite a few stories in my life that have blown my mind and left me wondering things like "WHY? For the love, WHYYYYY?" Ariana's story made that list this week. Ew.

It's been an eventful week and I wish I could tell you more that was said but some stuff has to remain a mystery, right? Maybe I will put them in a personal journal or something....yeah. probably not going to happen.

Happy Jerzday Eve :)

One of those..."it's been a while since I've vented about relationships" kind of posts. Feat. Liz Waite :)

I figured it's been a while since I've blogged about dating, relationships and the woes of the opposite sex so here you go, you're getting it again.  This time I have a guest.  Meet Liz.  She's one of my favorites... Enjoy.

To the Boys:

Like seriously.. What's your deal? Girls don't want to just "hang out."  Sure, we enjoy being around attractive men that we might not actually date (for whatever reason) but for CRYING OUT LOUD take us on out on a date every once and a while.  The longer you wait, the more awkward, confusing and harder it will be to get yourself out of the inevitable "Friend Zone."  We get sick of hearing the same old "I don't want too. what if she says no? I don't want to spend money on another man's wife." blah blah blah.   If you aren't going to do anything about it then stop complaining.  Ok? Ok.

We get it.  We aren't bashing on just boys.  We LOVE boys.  I mean, LOVE them.  But you have a hard job.  You have to ask the girls out, spend the money (yes, we said $$), and usually make the first move.  That sucks.  BUT sorry..That's just life.  So we're just saying, don't waste time because you're afraid of rejection.  It's going to happen, it's going to hurt, but you move on and you try again.  Most likely you will end up counting your blessing that you didn't end up with [that one girl] anyways.  You'll find her, she's out there... you just have to keep trying.

And here's another thing... Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself "what makes me think that I should get girls that are "Victoria Secret runway model-esque." Get. Real.  It's probably not going to happen.  Yes, we hope that you end up with someone who is "gorgeous" to you.  But for every Jack there's a Jill.. so why can't you just find someone who is equally attractive, equally weird, and equally dumb?  That's not settling at all--it's realistic.

So if getting a girl friend is something you are looking for right now, then get that cute little behind of yours off the couch, turn off sports center (or whatever it is that you're watching) and do something about it.  Be real.  Be straight forward--be a man.

To the Girls:

Can you please FOR THE LOVE stop making things so complicated?!  There is no need to over analyze every situation (not saying that boys don't do this too ;)) Be realistic about the situation.  Maybe he likes you, maybe he doesn't, but you aren't going to know until he tells you or asks you out so there's no need to stress about it or cause drama until you know for sure. Chill.

Boys can't read your mind.  They don't know what you want or what you're thinking.  If you don't say it, they don't know it... So say it.

Give boys props.  They have a hard job (as read above) but if the kid shows that he's interested, help a brother out.  Show you're interested too.  Chances are that he won't keep trying if you aren't reciprocating anything.  But be careful with that one.  You don't want to be overwhelming.  Don't throw yourself at him...that makes you look desperate and pathetic.  Meet him half way.

Why are some girls so clingy?  Whatever happened to taking a day with the girls or letting the BF go out for a night with the boys? You need your girl time and he needs his man time.  It's important to be away from each other every now again.. if not, you might find yourself getting annoyed with each other which usually results in being super nitpicky about each other's flaws.  Take a time out here and there.  And really?  What if things don't workout with homeboy?  You want to make sure you have friends to fall back on.  Don't let those relationships dwindle.  Plus, the friends are probably more fun every now and again anyways.

Lastly, If a guy asks you out on a first date...say yes.  The poor guy worked up the courage to ask you out.  So go.  You never know, it might turn out to be a lot of fun.  By not saying yes (unless you know he's a murder or something) you are being shallow because you are basically saying he's not good enough, and you didn't even give him one chance.  But that brings us to the second date rule.  If you know you're not interested at all after the first date. Don't go on the second.  We've met plenty of guys who would just rather be told straight up.  Don't waste his or your time. But, if you aren't sure about it and want to see where it goes, then go.  That's how dating works and how you get to really know someone.

Oh, and just because he asks you out. Doesn't mean he wants to marry you.  So let's squash that way of thinking real fast. K? Thanks.

Well, that's pretty much all that we have right now but you can guarantee that we will be back again with some kind of bidness. So for now...
Go get 'em tiger.

Oh, and we're single. just kidding. I mean, but not kidding...
