1.) I haven't forgotten about the fact that growning up on an animal farm was a huge part of my life. To the people I have met over the past few years, I don't think they truely understand that side of me. I really have changed a lot since then. I've realized even more over that past couple of days (because people have been pointing it out to me) that I don't like getting dirty, I'm not a fan of pets/animals and I'm a little bit of a diva?? (really?) I mean, what has happened to me? Yesterday I was talking to my co-worker Amy and I stopped and remembered that I used to me an Ag Major and that I totally have my American FFA Degree (the highest degree you can hold as an FFA member). I had to laugh because sometimes I think that I forget that it was/is such a big part of my life. I mean I showed Steers every summer at the fair for 10 years and pretty much all of the trophy's/plaques that I own are from 4-H and FFA (the others of course are from academics, "most improved" softball player and of course Archery) .. Now you see what I mean? Wow. I need to write this crap down so my children will know how I used to be when I was younger. HA.
Good thing I'm going home next weekend.. I need to get back to my roots, STAT.
2.) White-Out EZ correct is totally made for Leftys and can fix ANYTHING. I've only been working at my job for 2 months and I'm on my second one! I love EZ white-out. And trust me..watch a right handed person use it. AWKWARD!
3.) I've realized that it's great when you can look back at old drama, laugh and then happily smile because you're still friends! :) love, love, love it!

Apartment Confessions: New Look/New Me.
OK, So people (mostly my mother) have been asking to see pictures of my apartment. Well, you're going to have to wait 5-7 days until my rugs are delivered from Urban Outfitters. I'll admit, I'm excited to add a little splash of color to my "look" with these rugs. I think that they (and the future decorating in the living room that I've yet to do) will really add to the apartment as a whole. So, I will post pics soon! Good thing I don't have any visitors yet because it is not "visitor/friend" ready. I'm working on it.
I still need to figure out the power cord situation with my TV.. what mess. I'm just a freak when it comes to clutter and disorganization. I think that describes my loathe of trinkets. So this last week (OK, two days), I've actually been trying something new by trying to not let the imprefection (meaning not everything has to be black, in line or completely organized). I've realized that maybe I am so anal about things because since I've been on my own I've always made sure that things super organized and in line.
I think you'd be proud though. My rugs are COLORED and my dining room table is brown (this is a long story, but one wrong table, a heavy haul up the stairs and 2 dramatic breakdowns later.. I decided to keep it. Hence this whole "new look/me" thing..Because we all know that I don't "do" brown.) Well, you better believe it. I think this is a new beginning for me. You make think it's funny but it's totally a big deal for me. Sad. I'm working on it though.
Stay tuned for pics.

What a Week
So you know that I recently moved into a new apartment in Layton last Saturday. I love it so far. The only thing i'm hating right now is that my cable/DVR and Wireless internet can't be set up until tomorrow. This means that I've been without the internet for a week and that I missed this week's SYTYCD. Don't worry, I made sure that I went over to Jame's to watch the Bachelorette and RHNJ. Yeah.. I'm obsessed. Jamie told me a couple of weeks ago that I shouldn't be allowed to watch reality TV because I really act like I know the people and get "involved" with their stories. I mean, so what if I think that I'm really in love with Chris L from the Bachelorette and that I secretly want to meet the housewives of NJ and punch Danielle in the face?
Well, good thing Eric from Comcast is coming to get my apartment all hooked up for my TV and Internet.. I've been really busy this week with work and moving, but another week and I really think that I would start to have withdrawls (sad, I know.. but admit it, you'd do the same.)
This week and last week were a little crazy. I've come to realize a few things about poeple and the way that I treat them, I've successfully moved into my apartment (still need to decorate), and I made it through my work/stress breakdown yesterday without shaving my discusting hair right off my head. :) that's a good sign I think. Don't get me wrong, I love my job but just imagine coordinating logistics for almost 200 event in August alone. SICK!
I did, however, make and appointment to get my hair cut and colored and BOY, let me tell you what...it's way over-due. My roots and my ends are discusting. I guess that's what happens when you don't have a lot of friends and don't have anyone to impress. HA! Well, my mom basically ordered me to get in and get an appointment. I LOVE MY MOM. So the appointment has been made--No shaved head for me...for now!

Taco Bell Miracle
I will admit that my friends and I went to Taco Bell quite a bit during my last year of school. Well, I hadn't been to Taco Bell since I left Rexburg and Jamie and I decided that after a day of moving into the new apartment we deserved some Taco Bell!
We drove up to the drive through and placed our order which included 2 of the little $2.00 meals and a Cheesy Gordita Crunch. The girl at the window, we'll just call her "Maria" said, "thank you, that will be $2.05 cents at the next window." Jamie and I looked at each other confused, thinking that maybe we just heard her wrong. We got to the window and again, Marie said, "$2.05 cents." We laughed and Jamie said, "ummm can you please tell us what you got down for our order?" She replied with everything we had ordered. Jamie handed her my card and we both continued to chuckle thinking maybe we just really heard her wrong. Then we kept going over the situation asking ourselves the following questions:
"what number sounds like the number 2? Maybe we just misunderstood her."
"We totally gave her enough chances to catch her mistake.."
"Are we like the millionth customer or something?"
Anyways Maria gave me my card back, no receipt of course and handed us our bag of food. Everything was there. I even got on my BB and checked my bank account. Surely enough, $2.05. ...I mean REALLY? Even if we only got one of the $2.00 meals, it would have been like $2.13... How could she get it THAT wrong?
We spent the whole drive to RC Willey talking about our Taco Bell Miracle.. eating and laughing about the whole situation while singing "God Bless America" and shouting "Viva La Mexico!!"
But we figured we gave her enough time to catch it... It's a TACO BELL MIRACLE!!!

A Face to a Name
Today I was called in by one of the many consultants I work with at Franklin Covey to introduce myself to some of the consultants who were getting certified in one of the new programs we are going to be running. Now, I've talked to each of these consultants numerous times.. yet, never in person. My "relationships" with them have been via e-mail and telephone.
I walked into the conference room only to be faced with TWENTY Franklin Covey Consultants. GAHH:/ I had no clue I was going to be doing that today. But, I found it to be quite rewarding. I was able to answer questions about the "meeting planning" process for these VA seminars and what they can expect down the road. (which is great because it means that will be 20 less people calling me asking questions about which seminar they are going to be teaching. Basically... they'll get off my back a little:) )
Anyways, I walked into the room and the consultants began clapping. It was nice to be recognized for helping these new programs get up and going. I felt appreciated.. I also felt that I wish I would have known I was going to be doing that today because I would have like, done my hair better than my recently common pony tail or something.
Anyways, these people teach groups all over the country and I was addressing them about the logistic side of the programs. and well.. I rocked it! I actually knew what I was talking about. Kind of a big deal for me :)
The best part, however, was putting faces to all of these people/names I've been working with so much. They each had a name tent sitting in front of them so I was immediately able to recognize them. I had to stop myself from chuckling a few times when I was addressing the group, mostly because I didn't picture them looking like that at all!!! It's like reading Twilight and having your idea of what Edward is supposed to be like and then you see him in the movie and you're like "What the Heck?" or when they casted the character Eric and he's totally Chinese.. yeah, I was shocked with that one.
Anyways, here are a few of the thoughts I had when I met these consultants:
hmmm..You're the guy who always gives me motivational advice and uses the salutation of "Blessings" in your e-mails and I ALWAYS get a chuckle out of it.. HA! You're kind of a hippie! I love it.
..not that it matters, but I know clue you were black.
...OH, ..you're a man..........this is awkward!
It was a successful day. I wish I could have met ALL of the consultants because after I answered these questions, my phone rang a few less times today. Interesting.. :)

Not My First "Single's Ward" Post.
The last few months I've done the whole "go to the singles ward by yourself thing." Even though it's hard to go by myself I've been able to really evaluate the importance of church in my life besides the whole social aspect.
That and...I've also been able to really take a good look at the people that go to the singles ward. Not that I'm judging them or anything--There are nice people everywhere I go but I swear that each ward is made up with similar groups of people. (While I evaluate these groups of people, I'm not trying to be rude.. it's just something that I do and I can't help it, plus I've sure they are evaluating me, the new girl, as well.)
1- The group of attractive boys who fill up an entire row of the chapel who never have girls sitting with them. I find this group to be the most fascinating. I mean, really boys? You're cute. And there are CLEARLY more girls than guys in the ward.. get with it!
2- Then there are the girls who decide that they are going to make a huge fashion statement because they think they are being "different," "retro," "urban," hippie-chic." Don't get me wrong, i'm totally down with the girls who can take complete mismatching clothes and rock it. But quite frankly, some of it does not work. And I wish they would understand that some of these bold colors (including tights) don't work for church.
3- Along with the last group are the girls who didn't get the memo that we have dress standards we try to live by. Things haven't changed. Skirts and dresses that hit the mid-thigh are not appropriate for church. I've noticed this even more since I've been in Utah. Yeah, the dresses are cute but that doesn't justify it for church. And if you're going to wear them--do us all a favor and learn to sit in them with out showing us your brittney. Thanks!
Clearly there are more groups but these are the ones that really got me thinking today.
Oh and I totally made a new friend today! We have plans to go to a ward activity together. Step One: Meet a cute/normal girl to attend church activities with--CHECK!

Apartments, Couches and Gym Happenings.
In the last two days I've made two impulse buys. What was going to be a trip to Wal*Mart for Shaving Cream and Yogurt turned into a "hey, let's check out this apartment complex." An hour later, I had signed a contract and put down a deposit!
The next was a "Hey, let's just check out the RC Willey Outlet while we are out here." Hmmm.. Let's just say that I love RC Willey and the lady helping us was the cutest old lady. I found a couch set that I liked. The lady told me it was a "slammin' deal" so I took it.
I feel so grown up!
Oh.. and I'm pretty sure that my new BF works at my Gym. He was working at the front desk and I had to get a new membership card and picture. While he was working on the card, I casually mentioned that I loved his watch (white leather fossil--Style to die for).. that led to a nice conversation about his love for the Buckle. Anyways, he was so cute that I even caught myself stutter for a second! O-M-G. Maybe tomorrow I will actually ask him what his name is. It's not fair that he can know my name because I had to give it to him to be let in. Rude.
Also, I've discovered a tiny pet peeve of mine: When there are two HUGE rows of vacant treadmills or bikes and someone comes and uses the one RIGHT next to you. Really people? I take that back.. I wouldn't be annoyed if the person were cute and/or decided to at some point have a friendly/quick convo.

4th of July
This year was my first 4th of July that I was able to celebrate without having to work. However, you can't keep me from Rocky Mountain Fireworks. I ended up going to purchase fireworks on saturday but really, I just wanted to catch up with old co-workers. Honestly, I was a little sad that I wasn't able to add to my "Only at Rocky Mountain" stories this year. Seriously. Sunday night after we lit off our fireworks, we all sat around and talked about our Rocky Mountain stories (since in the 7 summers I worked there I had a total of 6 of my girl friends come and work with me... haha. we have the best stories. I was just the only silly one who stuck around for more than 2 summers.) I've decided that I HAVE to write all of these Rocky Mountain stories down so that when I get old, I don't forget them. Because they are THAT good. **Stay tuned for the book**
Overall the weekend was good. I love fireworks, I love family, I love friends, I love the outdoors (ie Jump Creek, Grandma's Garden and Dad's Farm) I LOVE Paid Holidays and America:)
..Plus, I realized a few things about myself and life over the weekend which was a long time comin'...my feelings could best be descibed by the Eminem his new song "I'm going through Changes." (haha, OK not really since it's about him becoming a dad and whatnot... but still, I pretty much do love me some Eminem.)

Now it's back to Utah and work and there is SO much to be done. On top of that, I'm doing the whole apartmen hunting thing and catching up with all of my shows... Got to stay caught-up in the world of Reality TV :) :)
