Wednesday.

"If there was plastic surgery for your voice, I would get it."
-Nieko
Some people just don't like their voice.  Nieko really doesn't like his to the point that IF their was a surgery for it.. he would get it.

"Can I ask you a serious question?  Did you take a picture of me?  That's the last thing I need on FB."
-Easton
First of all, I would NEVER take a picture of what he was showing me let alone show that I posted it on my Facebook.  OK, maybe I would have taken a pic and hacked into someone else's facebook and posted it.  But still.  I can't have that crap in my Camera Roll on my phone.  No way. smh...

"She's supposed to be naturally beautiful, you B!"
-Nieko
While watching "Snow White and the [Hot Hemsworth Brother]" I made a comment about how Snow White's eye brows were perfectly tweased.  I know it's a movie but GET REAL.  She was locked up in a tower for YEARS.  Naturally beautiful or not... If she had these magical powers to keep her eyebrows perfect like that without doing anything then she sure the heck should have been able to get herself out of that tower.  Just saying.  I know, I know... they can't have some hairy princess..I was just making a comment. Nieko CLEARLY loves her.

*ssssmack, SMACK.......SMACK SMACK*
-Amanda eating a tootsie pop SO loud.
Did I mention we were at a movie theater?  ...and that she seemed to 'smack' every time it was REALLY quiet?  yeah.  never again will I give her a sucker in a movie. haha Not only that.. she ripped the stick apart and was tearing the paper from it into tiny pieces during the movie.  I know it's one of her quirks because I've seen her do it before to napkins.  We laugh at it but that's because it's totally one of the most...unique...quirks I've ever seen.  hahaha.

"Smh...I don't know what that even means."
-Amanda
Apparently Amanda wasn't the only one who found out what that means this week.  Liz didn't know either.  I asked Liz if she thought it was a swear when I wrote it in my blog.  She nodded.  HAHA.  oh liz.  Oh Amanda.  If you don't know what something is, ask.  Or google it. Just stay away from the google image ;)

"Is this a Matte?"
-Willy talking about the nail polish Jess put on his fingers
haha. I don't know what's better:  The fact that Jessica got him to let her paint his nails full on and leave them for a while OR the fact that he knows what a matte is?! I think he was bugged that it wasn't shiny.   Best day of my life.

"Top floor would suck moving into when we're drunk."
-Two guys in the waiting room of my new apartment complex.
Did I make friends with them? Yeah; they were friendly.  Classy? Maybe not.  But friendly.  And it's true..."Drunk Person Handbook rule #287": You should always settle for the bottom floor if you're planning on moving in to an apartment complex wasted.

"I love cheese."
-Drunk Girl
Some drunk girl wrote this on Nieko's stomach with a Sharpie and I couldn't help but find it really funny.  Mostly because Nieko was like "I don't even like Cheese." hahaha.  Had to have been there I suppose.  But really, who writes that on someone they barely know?! ha. Drunk people. smh.

"Have you ever smelled someone walk by and they smell like ramen noodles?..I guess that's BO."
-Savanna
BAHAHAHA I've never experienced the Ramen Noodle smell but I did meet someone who always smelt like Chicken Noodle soup.  It was weird.  I told her that it might not be BO.  Maybe they just eat Ramen so much that it just started seeping out of their pores.  Whatever the case...Sick!!

--------------------------------

Ok, now for two comments that weren't meant to be racist but they just happened:

"You guys are crack-ups" (said in Australian accent) -Vicky
"Did you just call us CRACKERS!?" -Willy
Vicky seems to be doing great in Australia.  So great that when we Skyped with her on Saturday she had an accent. BAHAHAHAHA. smh. I can't. omg.  Anyways... When she said that we really thought she was calling us Crackers.  I don't blame her.  Aside from Willy, we are white and we always talk about how she is black.  So it's like, whatever.  But the accent and the name calling just caught us all a little off guard. Oh Vicky, we miss you!!

"I got jumped by two nigs."
-Brother
OK, Listen.  I know that it might sound super racist and I contemplated even putting it on here now.  But if you are tying to pick a fight and you're a punk then I think you deserve to be called names.  Get over it.  We aren't racist.  And despite the fact that the situation he is referring too was a little scary, I did get a kick out of the way he put it this morning.  P.S.  Better watch who you pick a fight with next time, BOYS ;)

I'm trading in my Garage for Granite Counter tops and my own bathroom

Basically, I suck.  I hope you don't feel neglected, I just feel like I've been so busy lately.  Work has been picking up and by the time I get home each night there always seems to be something going on..and by that, I don't mean sleep.  Sure, I fell asleep during our movie last night but that's only because I was exhausted.  Obvi.

New things up in here....

I signed a contract at a new apartment complex last night! Am I freaking out?  Yes,  a little.  I've been at Sterling Pointe for almost 2 years (next month).  Can you believe it?  I've been here for a solid two years?  Oh Utah, what have you done to me?!

The original plan way back then was to "stay in Layton for a year then move closer to work."  Fail.  Well, I wouldn't say it's a bad thing.  I mean, back then I didn't know anyone so the idea of moving wasn't a big deal.  If you don't know anyone, then you aren't leaving anyone.  Well, two years later and I've some how managed to make Layton my home.  I love it here.  In fact, the idea of leaving it right now would make me really sad.  For now.  SOOO... I decided to take advantage of this REALLY good deal.  It's in a different part of town away from everything, less sketchy, and BRAND NEW.

When making big decisions like that I usually get a good or bad feeling about things.  Like the time I was trying to find a place in Salt Lake and I felt sick to my stomach and thought that everyone was ghetto, part of a gang, or wanted to murder me.  That wasn't real.  That was just me being pointed in the right direction.  To stay in the place that needed to be my home for that time.  Well leaving would make me the same sick right now.  So when I decided to go check out these new apartments it was more like a  "just do it, it's time for change. This could be good!"  So I signed.  Done and Done.

I don't know how long I'll be there but it's going to be nice I think! (not to mention I will be done with linger longer..horrible thing to say about a calling but true.) I signed a 10 month lease so guaranteed I will be here through April-Mayish :) I'm so excited.  Really, wait until you this new place!  They won't be completed until July 24th and I'm moving in on the 27th :) So you will see it then.

Change is good right?! and sure, Cole isn't here to help me with the move (especially to pack and move his crap but it will be OK. UGH.)

I'm usually always up to a Challenge!
------
Challenge? Umm..except I agreed to my first blind date for tomorrow.
He sounds nice but WHAT did I get myself into?
pray for me and my awkwardness and word vomit.
no. for real.
pray.

Let me get back to you...

Most of the time I wait for a really good idea to pop into my head before I blog.  But sometimes, like right now, I just really don't have any good ideas of things to write about that will make you think, "oh yeah, that's why I read this blog!" So I'm sorry for anyone who continues this post because I'm not really sure what the point is going to be right now....

You've been warned.

Tonight I went to dinner with a new friend.  First of all, can I just say that I love meeting new people?  Mostly because I love learning their life stories and why they are the way that they are.  Not only that, I just love people who introduce new ideas and really make me think about who I am and what I'm doing with my life.

When you meet someone new (whether you are on a date or not) there are usually a series of questions that are asked if you are in a one on one type situation.  Sometimes the questions can be hard to answer or can be a little awkward but I love these moments. I love listening to what people have to say and I am always so curious to learn about where people come from and who they are as a person.  However, lately I've mostly been grateful for these moments when someone asks me a question and I have to dig down deep and think about my likes, my dislikes, and what makes me...Jenn.

I know.  It probably sounds really cheesy and weird.   I mean, everyone has to answer questions about themselves often.  I guess I've just gotten into a little funk where I feel like I've kind of forgotten about taking care of things aside from work, friends and family.  Then I started thinking...What do I really love?! I mean, aside from my work, family, friends and my faith... I really don't know how to answer that question.

Omg. Have I gotten so boring that I can't answer that question with anything outside of the basic things that I love?! Don't get my wrong, I do love my job and I love my family and friends and I really do have a great life.  But if someone where to ask me what I do for me and what I enjoy and what I do with my spare time.. I wouldn't know how to answer that question without feeling the need to fabricate a little (of course I wouldn't but you know what I'm saying.)

I think my goal for the next few weeks, aside from getting to bed a little earlier so I don't die from sleep deprivation, is to work on making time for PRODUCTIVE things that I enjoy.  Find new hobbies, pick up old hobbies again, read, and focus on remembering the things that I love to do.

Might sound dumb but if you're in a rut or the same old routine of work, family, friends, eating, Tv, fbooking and minimal sleep and exercise then ummm... aren't you feeling me on this one?

Remember the things that you love and make time for them if you don't already.  Set a goal to learn new things or to pick up a hobby you've been wanting try.  Make your life interesting so you can confidently answer someone when they say, "Soo.. what's your story? Tell me about yourself."

*create the story you want to tell.

Wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh-WEDNESDAY!

"Stay away from dirty old guys."
-coworker
I don't even remember what we were talking about last week that made him say this but I think these should go down as "words to live by."

"[Bahahaha] I love that we just confirmed that she cries when she's embarrassed."
-Nieko about Vicky
I don't mean to put her on blast about this because we all have our "thing" [like, apparently I tear up more about TV shows and movies than I do real like. nbd.] but this one cracks us up.  We have three separate occasions to serve as proof of our once, but now confirmed theory.  It's like, "is she laughing? is she crying? oh yeah, don't mind her.  She's just a little shocked or embarrassed."

[Pun totally intended with the whole "shocked" thing.  hahaha Anyone up for being tazed?!] *insert tears.*

"Your Fro won't fit in the car, yo!"
-Jessica clearly talking to Vicky
On our way to Lava Jessica decided to pick Vicky's fro. ... It got huge!  We probably thought it was way funnier than it really was.  See for yourself:

Thank goodness for that sun roof!

"Hey, she said the 'S word' too!"
"....I don't want to be the only girl who swore at the ward camp out."
-Jessica putting Vicky on blast about swearing during a game of "BS" after she accidentally said it SUPER loud in front of everyone. hahahaha. classic.
Jessica really didn't mean to say it out loud..she was just calling someone out on their crap during the card game.  I think she felt bad a little (I mean, we were at a ward camp out) so when Vicky said the same word, Jessica made sure that EVERYONE knew she wasn't the only one who said the "S word."  haha.

"I've never heard so much swearing at a ward activity..."
-liz
I wish I had video of one of the boys that we met camping this weekend.  Of course, he clung to my side the first night but that's just because I always make friendly with special people.  You know this. Sure, they might have abs and be super tan and nice but that doesn't mean they aren't going to be dropping the F bomb multiple times at the ward function, telling you BULL shiz about almost getting in a fight on set of the Jerry Springer show (I'm not kidding), ask you more than once if you just want to go and get a hotel, and tell you about his OBVIOUS prescription pill addiction.  Yeah, there was quite a bit of swearing... smh.  Some people. haha.

"All I know is I want some hot cocoa and bread with butter on it."
-Vicky
She was talking about food all morning because she had woken up so early and just sat there all Starvin' Marvin' while we still slept.  Picture it like one of the Lost Boys on "Hook" where they imagine what they are eating...getting all specific with the food they want.  HA! I just couldn't get over how random the food she wanted was.  Not just bread.  Bread with BUTTER on it.  hahaha. Oh, Victoria.

"RUE!" -Willy mocking Amanda's version of the way she says "rude"
"Listen. It's off a thing." -Amanda trying to say that it was off a MadTV sketch
"Yeah...Hunger Games." -Willy
He was super quick with this comment back to her and it CRACKED me up.  Rue? Hunger Games?  Classic.

"I think I'm going to donate my eggs." -Jess
"*insert cricket noise* WTH?" -all of us girls
"It's just for research..  They don't hatch babies out of them." -Jess
There are no words.  Only a hearty laugh will suffice. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

"...If that's the case I would do the Beyonce diet which is Maple Syrup, water and pepper."
-Savanna talking about wedding nightmares like gaining weight and this one: (note, she isn't a terrorist and the likelihood of this ever happening is slim but I couldn't stop laughing):
"Like, what if the temple was bombed or something while we were getting married and I die a virgin?"
legit fears. hahahaha.  But seriously, I can't believe that she is getting married in 2 months! gah!!!!

"WIENER IN THE FACE! WIENER IN THE FACE!"
-Jamie
I know this one sounds bad but it's not.  Jamie and Mason and I love to FaceTime.  The other day Mason was getting ready for a bath so he was crawling around naked.  This boy loves being naked!  He was just playing with his toys and Jamie was laying on the floor holding up the iPad and all of a sudden mason was crawling on her face and she was yelling this ^.  I'm surprised I didn't die from laughing. really.

"I save my batman suit for my wife.  I had to throw away my Green Lantern suit because of recent news..."
-Coworker
First of all... TMI, right?!  haha j/k, he's funny.  I was just joking to him about dressing up for the premiere of the Dark Knight Rises so that's why we were talking about it, which brought on the funny comment about the Green Lantern.  Speaking of which, is anyone else like "WTH?" to the whole DC Comics making the Green Lantern "come out of the closet?" Weird, right? You know I'm all for people doing whatever they want but COME on!  Why the Green Lantern?  I didn't see the movie but I'm thinking he has some explaining to do.. I mean, Blake Lively?  Get.real.

"Ummmm...?"
-Liz as she stares awkwardly at Jess's bag of Cookies and Cream chex mix that she unknowingly finished.
I don't think there was much left in the bag to begin with but the funny part was that she really didn't realize that she finished it off.  It's like on 'Never Been Kissed' where she is high from the Pot brownies and is like "somebody ate my entire pie!" when in all actuality, SHE finished it.

I love my bed--Camping and the Weekend.

If you follow me on Instagram then you probably noticed that the girls talked me into going camping this weekend with their ward to Lava Hot Springs.  Anyone who knows me knows that, even though I was raised on a farm, I'm not huge on "Spending the night outside" AKA camping.  Plain and simple, I don't like being cold, I don't like peeing outside and I ADORE my bed.

If it's warm and there is running water/bathrooms then, oh yeah, I'm totally in; I can handle sleeping on the ground.  In fact, if we have those two things at least (sun and running water) count me in!  I knew the weather wasn't looking too promising so I was bummed about that as we were getting ready to leave.. BUT, I knew that I would be missing out if I didn't go.  Despite a few tent issues and a little bit of wind and rain, we had SUCH a fun time!   We ate junk, went swimming at the pool, soaked in the hot springs (A LOT), laughed a lot, hung out with some great people, met a couple of interesting characters, and cuddled up in the tent.  Oh and get this.. I didn't even take my down comforter like I normally do, I shared my pillow and sleeping bag with Jess and I STILL didn't freeze..Did I mention it was raining?  Bless that tent with the broken zipper that had to be shoe-laced up, bless that huge sleeping bag of mine that kept me and Jess warm and bless Liz and Jess for letting me sleep in between them :)

I've said it before that you learn a lot about people when you go on vacations/trips with them.  I will add that you especially learn a lot about a person while camping.  I'm sure the girls would say "Jenn is still just as dramatic while camping." And they'd be right.  I mean, hello--It was raining and the tent wouldn't zip up.  It was kind of a camping nightmare for a second.  But I'd say that we did a really good job of making the best out of it; We still managed to laugh a lot and even though it was windy and a little cold on the day we were supposed to be swimming we still loved it and we STILL went swimming.  Sure, some people didn't pack pants or a pillow or a sweatshirt, but we laughed it off and improvised.  We learned that some people don't sleep while camping, and some people get really annoyed if they are woken up early (and don't remember certain things when they are apparently half asleep). Really, you learn a lot about a person while camping.

Honestly, you really just have to be surrounded by the right people to make it a good time!

This is clearly the BEFORE picture... before we looked super Not Cute.
We got back Saturday afternoon feeling super sexy *Insert sarcasm here* and had to get ourselves ready for dinner and a little "going away party" for Victoria.  Home girl went to Idaho AND red robin for the first time in one weekend. (haha. shocking right?! I mean, Red Robin at least??)  Well, we basically ate our weight in steak fries and came back to my apartment to play games and eat cake straight out of the pan!

Really, I'm going to miss that girl.  I officially hugged her goodbye last night and I wanted to cry.  I'm so excited for her upcoming adventures in Australia but we'll miss having her around everyday.  Thank goodness for Skype, blogs and Fbook!

LOVE YOU, VICTORIA :)
------------------------------------------------
Speaking of loving technology.  I love FaceTime simply for all the times I get to talk to this boy :) He's so freaking cute.

He's not walking yet but he stands pretty solid!!

Talking to Aunt Jenn

CHEESE! Riding his Horsie.  Jamie said they ate at Red Robin this weekend
and he "MOOed" at the carousel horse. haha. silly boy.

Ok, excuse my face. I was sunburnt and was BUSTING up at him.
This boy puts his legs up like that ^ to ride his horse.  So funny!!!
cracks me up.

Things I'd like to understand

1.) I don't get it.  No, I'm not talking about the girl at my work who has started using this REALLY high pitched/fake voice every time someone gives her something, although, I don't get that either and quite frankly it makes me want to chop off my ears Van Gogh style...but that's beside the point.

What I really don't get is this whole Helium shortage thing and how it's happening?  I just heard that my mom went into the store the other day to get some Balloons for the sister's birthday and they told her "I think I have enough in the tank to do what you need." What!?  I just don't get how this shortage is even happening.  And google is not really answering my question.  This brought on a sequence of emails and a conversation with my sister who is concerned that her soon-to-be 1 year old baby boy won't have balloons at his Circus party in a couple of weeks.  hmmm.. never knew I would take helium for granted.  Or balloons.  Don't worry, I assured her that we would be fine. I  mean, we are having a Circus party.  We HAVE to have balloons.

2.) Can someone please explain to my why I love sweets?  I've tried to train myself not to love them simply by not purchasing them or eating them (most of the time) but sometimes I just want candy.  Plain and simple.  It's SUPER annoying.

3.) There is this guy at my work that clips his finger nails ALL THE TIME at his desk.  Did I mention that he's just in a cube and not in the comfort of his own office where he can shut the door so no one can know what he's doing?  yeah.  It happens a lot.  Makes me cringe a little.  Probably only because I find everything that the guy does super annoying.

4.) The appeal of camping in weather that has any percent chance of raining.
I wish I wasn't such a pansy. haha, merp.

5.) How people are so oblivious to the real life things that are happening around them.  Um. #wake up, #growup #getreal.

6.) How some people decide that something is OK to do when it's clearly not socially acceptable. yes, I'm all for standing out and being yourself and original but THAT thing you just told me/did?... straight up weird.

7.) Why Lindsay Lohan is ALWAYS all up in the Celeb Buzz?  Dude, I get it.  She's been hecka cracked out for the last few years, went through her thief stage and people like drama.  Yes, she's drama.  I just feel bad that she's been in the media so much lately that I literally rolled my eyes when her face popped up about being hospitalized after a car accident today.  Heartless? Nah...I feel bad that she wrecked her Porsche.

8.) How time is flying by like it is?  Cole's already been gone for over a month.  Can you believe it?  I think that makes us officially a quarter of the way through this whole Canada thing! woot woot!

9.) Why some people don't just get together.  You know.. date, hook up or whatever?  I see some people and I'm like.. Really? How can you not see that you are totally meant for each other and this *wink wink* could work.  Or the opposite even.  I see people together sometimes and I'm like "GEE! How are you still in this "relationship" or whatever you call this."

10.) People who shout the most personal stories and basically put themselves on blast to the entire office.  Like, dude/lady..that crap is embarrassing but by all means, continue talking loud so I can listen, snicker quietly to myself, and (occasionally) talk about it to other people via office communicator!

I promise I'm not a bad person. ...;)
HAPPY WEEKEND!

Efron update!

I'm sitting here eating my lunch when this name popped into my head:

Zac. Efron.

Then I got upset.  I don't like when he's not in movies and falls under the Celeb Buzz radar.  Say what you want about him...homeboy's got it going on.  still.

Of course I did a little imdb stalking.  Anybody who loves Zac knows that he did a film called the Paperboy with Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman and and John Cusack.  The thing is, no official movie trailer has been released (to my knowledge) but there are all sorts of clips up on Youtube from the movie. Why?  Apparently it was premiered at the Cannes film festival so there is tons of stuff out there.  Google it.  Delicious pics. But umm.. when can we watch it? that's what I want to know.

Source: collider.com via Rachel on Pinterest

I've read the reviews of the film at the festival and even though Efron's character hooks up with Nicole Kidman, I still want to see it.  I don't like when there is all this crap out there but it's all over in France.  Like, get real.  Come to America!

Ohhhh and another tidbit of knowledge?! they've updated his IMDB with three new movies.  One in Post production called "At any Price," where he plays a farmer's (Dennis Quaid) son... My first thought? MUSCLES!

But the best is one of them that is supposedly in pre-production called "Townies."  This was just updated to his IMDB last week so the only description available is: A comedy centered on a frat boy whose behavior affects a local neighbor's family life.  His costar?  SETH ROGAN.  haha. you know that crap is going to be good.  I love him.

Ahhhh... well that's your Zac Efron update for now.
But really.  We need to see more of him besides when he has a new movie come out. I need to see his face pop up more often.  Can I get a "WOOT WOOT?!"

Wednesday's Quotes and Such.

"Victoria would have been like "oh, Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii."
-Liz
There is this part in the Chernobyl Diaries where they are all sitting in the van and this Russian guard is walking around the van and looking in the windows.  Of course, it's a little awkward and creepy so the people in the van are just silent and try to not look at the guard.    Liz was right when she leaned over in the movie and told me how she thought Vicky would react. ^ 100% correct.  Vicky will say stuff like that in moments similar to those.  It's great.  Not only am I going to miss her when she moves to Australia next week but I'm pretty sure that anybody who reads this blog segment will miss her comments. Dang it!

"WAS THAT CHRIS?!?!" *insert a lame attempt at mocking my ugly cry/laugh*
-Nieko mocking me over and over again about one of my reactions during a scary movie
Sometimes I overreact.  Sue me.  But really, I loved Jessie McCartney's character for some reason and I really didn't want [THAT] to be his character.  Like, at all.  I was so shocked and freaking out that I really didn't get to fully appreciate the little midget/baby zombie that was in the following scene. BOOOOOOOO. curse you dramatic reactions!  curse you ugly cry! *shakes fist*.

"Geez Jess, always one step behind." -me
"One step behind? hahaha *whisper* She's a gimp too!"
-Willy about Jess
I was joking with Jessica about how she was one step behind with the conversations we were having because she was too busy blog stalking some people.  Of course in my head I was meaning it in that way AND the fact that she tore her ACL a while ago so she's always complaining that she can't keep up with people so she is literally always one step behind everyone.   Yeah... willy caught on a little late. haha.

"Were you just singing 'Everybody wants to be a Cat?'"
-Amanda to Nieko who was CLEARLY singing Backstreet Boys.
Nieko for some reason started busting out singing backstreet Boys this weekend (you know, "EVERYBODYYYY yeeeeahhhh" except he only sang the "Everybody" part) and Amanda really thought he was singing the song from the Aristocats.  We didn't understand how she would even get that so we were laughing pretty hard, shaking our heads and what not.  However, Liz and her decided to sing it on the way home to prove that there is a part in the song that does indeed sound like the beginning of the backstreet boys song....yeah.. I still don't get it.

"It's not my fault you're a Vampire." -Jamie about my sleeping habits
"um, first of all--I'm not THAT pale." -Me
"Yeah you are.  And I don't take it back." -Jamie
"It's not my fault I wasn't born a Mexican like you.  Would you rather be a Mexican or a vampire?" -Me
"....Jury's out." -Jamie
If you can't tell already, my sister and I are pretty alike so we have some of the most random conversations over the phone.  I'd have to say she's my favorite sister ;)  But really...would you rather? haha.

"I've always been an emotional person..that's Part of the reason why my ex fiance broke up with me."
-Kid in the ward after he just got done telling everyone (OVER THE PULPIT) that he got engaged when he was on his service mission.
I know, I know...I shouldn't make fun.  But it was one of the most awkward moments in a testimony meeting that I've sat through in a while.  The kind where you pretend that you didn't just hear what was said because it's too painful to sit through and you know that if you keep looking and pretending that you aren't going to laugh that you will just explode? yeah. Guys, it was so bad. Even worse was that I was sitting next to some girl that I didn't know and I almost hit her to make sure she was listening.  Note to self--you can't do that to strangers.

"I won't even tell you what the Catholics do at Lagoon when they have their lagoon days.."
-Kid in the ward again
OK, so this one was super funny just because this kid is a little special.  I was dying.  I mean, now I kind of want to know what he thinks the Catholics do at Lagoon.  I mean, don't tease us. Tell us, FOR THE LOVE!!  I heart testimony meeting in single's wards for so many reasons.

"My brother wants us to see a physical therapist to work on our relationship."  ...later in the episode..
"I've been to Chicago but I've never went to the beach"
-Theresa Guidice, Real Housewives of NJ
really?! how did she make it as far as she did on Celebrity Apprentice?  Just sayin'. Physical therapist?  Beach?? Chicago? omg.

"Do you know whats going to be sad?  When one of us dies." *insert one of the ugliest/botox cries ever.
-Vicky, Real Housewives of OC
First of all, this lady is freaking crazy these days.  You'd think she was perma-drunk or something because she's all over the place.  The best part of this was that they were in Costa Rica planting trees together in the rain forest which was totally a bonding moment and honestly looked like a really happy and awesome experience.  If anything I would be thinking about life and nature or something!  nope. She randomly starts thinking about one of them dying.  CUCKOO. Straight up 'Cat Lady Crazy.'  They asked her if she'd been drinking too much because it was that off the wall.. she said she hadn't. So freaking funny.  I wish I could find the clip because I was DYING.  The way she said it, the ugly cry through her botox while planting trees in a beautiful place?  Hot mess.

"Is Pansy a rude word?" -Candace
"No, that's pussy." -Amanda
bahahahahahaha.  If you only knew the group we were hanging out with that night. smh. I'm don't think they appreciated this comment as much as I did. *insert everyone else awkwardly laughing and me BUSTING up.  Yes, I'm a child.

-------------------Bonus Text Pic!
Lastly,  I'm not good at texting on my iPhone and probably never will.  I'm especially not good at texting while talking to people in real life at the same time.  Well, I was texting Nieko the other night and I meant to say that I wouldn't TAKE him seriously anymore if he did a certain something that he wouldn't consider doing anyways and well, Autocorrect got me!  I especially love that he calls me out via hashtag.  So great.

I'm a little teapot

I know it's been a while since I've really written down some of my thoughts.  Aside from the weekend updates, random junk, and quotes every Wednesday, that's been about all I've blogged about for the last couple of weeks.  Here's the thing--Sometimes I choose to pretend that my brain isn't on over load and that I'm 100 %, completely sane.  I am not.  But the last couple of days I've been able to just breathe and be lazy  [thank you Hulu+, thank you Revenge] and not care about stupid stuff simply because I chose to take that uncomfortable step of facing one of my problems.  It has been SOOOOOO nice! [hence the lack of posts filled with super annoying rants about the mentioned topic that were drafted and then deleted.]

Without going into the [not-so-much-anymore] sob story of my brother getting his heart broken by someone who had quickly become my good friend, I will just say that I was finally able to confront some of the issues I was having with the whole ordeal.  Sure, it wasn't a face-to-face confrontation but it was written, it was rational and I feel so much better about it all.

I can NOT express how important it is to not keep things bottled up inside.

Think about a tea kettle. As you let the kettle sit on heat (the things that are bothering you) the water will begin to boil and turn into steam which takes up more room than the water.  Once the water is boiling hard enough (too many things happening in your life that you can't seem to get over) so much steam is created and built up that it can no longer be slowly released through the tiny hole (controlled).  The pressure is built up in the kettle, causing the steam to be quickly released through the hole causing it it do that horrible whistling sound (basically exploding/blowing its top..you know what I mean).

Sure, this process is great if you're making tea but in the name of lame analogies, let's pretend that we aren't making tea and that you are really the kettle.  The problem is the heat and what do we do when we have a problem? We get rid of it!  We wouldn't have all of that steam built up if we removed the problem before we reached our personal boiling point.

Wow.  Now that "I'm a little teapot" song is starting to make sense.

I know that it can seem easier to just sit back when there is a problem and hope that over time we will just get over it or that things will just work itself out because honestly,  things do eventually work themselves out in one way or another.  But I know for me, I think things through over and over again until I have taken care of it or faced the issue.  I guess I've learned that from years of "he said, she said" and never facing things dead on for myself because I thought it would be awkward or I was scared of the confrontation. I've changed.  Now, I can't stop thinking about it UNTIL there is a confrontation.  Sometimes it takes me a little bit of time to get to that point (like the last couple of weeks) but I promise, once it's done there is a HUGE weight lifted off of your shoulders.

If there is something that is making you reach your boiling point, get rid of it.  Right now.  Face whatever fear you are having and realize that you are going to feel so much better once it is taken care of.  Chances are, if there is another person involved, they are probably just waiting for you to come to them and are probably thinking the same things you are.  Be the bigger person; Take care of it!!! I can't tell you how many awkward encounters I saved myself from just by saying how I felt...

Write, Say it, cut it out of your life, do whatever you've got to do so you don't explode.

Let's not let ourselves get so steamed up that people have to "hear [us] shout."  It's annoying and no one wants to hear the same story from someone who could solve their issues by just getting rid of whatever or talking it out.

So do it.
Leggo.

Ok, bonus vid from the sister:

I'm still waiting for my nephew to say "Aunt Jenn" or any other variation of a cool name but I guess that won't come until he can really say some actual words.  But Mason can kind of say "Hey" and "Moo" now! See for yourself:

Happy 2 Years @ FC.

I want you to picture where you were two years ago.  What did you look like? who did you hang out with? what were your insecurities? What were your goals/ambitions? Who were you, really?

As I contemplated these questions this morning on my commute to work I realized that I've truly changed a ton over the last two years.  If you didn't know me back then...well... count your blessings.  I was a bit of a wreck for a while. haha. OK, Jk.  But I was just in a major transition period of my life and it was a little stressful.

Two years ago today I was a recent graduate from BYU-Idaho with a slight obsession with tanning, who had zero friends in the area, was trying to heal over some drama/heart ache, had a small distaste for Utah and my reason for needing to be here, was scared out of my mind about the future, and was anxiously rolling up to my first day on the job at FranklinCovey.  Can you believe that was two years ago today?!  I can not.

Within a matter of weeks I realized that I couldn't have asked for a better starting job out of college.  I work with wonderful people who have truly become great friends and I'm acquiring skills and experience that I know will benefit my future.  This morning I was really able to recognize the Lord's hand in every step of my life that has gotten me to this point and made me this person that I am and for that I am so grateful.

Today I'm really overwhelmed with how grateful I am to be where I am today and for the people who've helped me get to this point.  For roommates in college who helped me realize my talents and pushed me down the right career path, for a sister who made the right choices to bring her to Utah where I knew I needed to go too, for Idaho friends who made me realize that life is too short to care what other people think or to get caught up in things that don't matter, for parents who've supported me and loved me through every decision I've made, for the Utah friend's I've made in the last year who've accepted me for who I am, and for Franklin Covey for giving me a shot.

I wouldn't be me without any of these people or the experiences I've had over the last two years.  I know I still have a lot to learn but I'm excited to see what's around the corner!  Most importantly, I'm happy.

I just need time to slow down a bit.
It.has.FLOWN!!!!

oh how I love a nice self evaluation on a lovely Friday in June (can you believe it's June?) dang.

Happy Anniversary to Me!...mmm... does that mean I have an excuse to eat a cupcake or something?! gah.
