Give me a Break

If life could just give me a break, that would be great.

I could sit here and go off for an entire post about how today is just not my day.
Heck, it's not my month...But then I think about all of the people on the East coast in New York, New Jersey, DC and all those surrounding areas that were hit by Hurricane Sandy last night, and I remember that I really don't have it THAT bad.

so I'll stop being dramatic ;)
But really, I'd still take a break in any form right now...
even a Kit Kat Bar...
which sounds crazy good right now for some reason...
#omg

Oh,and if you want a laugh--Just think about me making an unexpected stop to the dentist before work tomorrow morning at
7-freaking-AM...
wearing my Halloween costume.

I was a little special this week--Resulting in a Super Special Wednesday post

So...I'm going through some of the stuff I jotted down for this week and I remember laughing A LOT this last week but I honestly can't remember everything that was actually SAID.  Which is a bummer because it was fun! However, I'm thinking that most of the really funny moments didn't have quotes with them at all.  I'm thinking it's because we didn't really say a lot, just laughed and did random crap? Or, everything we say/do is really funny so it's just hard to write everything down. Or....I'm just really drawing blanks from the weekend?  I don't know. Whatever.  However, for those of you who were with me this last week, I did remember some of the following things this morning as I was writing this down, and got a good laugh:
------------------------------------------------------------
Enrichment with some of the older girls in my ward, talking about being single and laughing so hard about it. For no reason really.  They would basically be like "we're old. Bahahaha" and we'd laugh again.  I love it when people make fun of their situations even though you know it's hard for them.  Because at the end of the day, there's not a lot you can do about it. And..It just makes life fun.

Kissing Chickens... Live ones.

Tripping out in the Haunted house...some people actually tripping. *Cough*NIEKO*.  Ok. More like eating it HARDCORE.  Hilarious.

Being Chased around the parking lot by a guy with two huge samurai swords. yeah. It happened.

Discussing the Castle of Chaos in Taylorsville after we went through.. you guys...I have nothing against midgets but I feel like I remember seeing a LOT of them in there.  No, I'm not mistaking them for children because there some of those in there too, and it was a nightmare.  But I mean, legit midgets.

Me, Chris and Nieko having to pee so bad that we thought we were going to die.
...Only to get to the porta-potties and have the chainsaw guy come and freak us out,  resulting in us peeing all over the place.  TMI? probably.  But it happened. As if having to pee in a porta-potty wasn't punishment enough. smh. But, embarrassing moment--Having a guy come into my porta-potty right after I was done and me being like "Sorry for the pee on the seat." Like that would make it less awkward for me or something. omg, you guys. omg.

Being so hungry I thought I was going to throw up..Not even being dramatic... But then being perfectly fine 10 minutes later. hmmm?

Our reactions to seeing Paranormal Activity 4.  Don't judge.  But if you saw the others you know that number 3 was scary.. number 4 however? omg.  You'll walk out and be like, "WTF just happened?"  I'm not kidding.  And then you'll sit around for the next hour or so being like, "WTF Robbie? What the Walking Dead?" And you'll just be ticked and vow to not see another one in theater even though you know they will have another one someday and you'll HAVE to see it.  Hollywood.... smh.
----------------------------------------------
Ok, back to the post.

"You're the reason why we can't go in public places."
-Cole to me
I'm starting to think that people think this for realzies.  Cole told me this in church, I think he was kidding but honestly, there was probably 75% truth to that.  I'm kind of embarrassing.  In fact, I'm surprised I have any friends at all sometimes.

"hahahaha. Jenn, you're hearing things.  There's not a bird."
-Chris, Amanda, Nieko
When we went to the Haunted house, there were sound effects going on as we were waiting in line to go in.  I kept hearing this bird and it was really bugging me and everyone else SAID they couldn't hear it.  It made me feel like a crazy person a little.  But they finally admitted they heard it.  Real good friends, right?

"I feel like last night was a joke."
-Nieko
Do you ever have one of those mornings where you wake up and you're like, did we really do that? Did that really happen last night? Of course, you know that it did happen but you just can't believe it because so many dumb things happened.
...That was our Friday night.

"There are some times when I'm mentally unbalanced and just plain scary."
-Girl in Sunday School
I feel like there are some things that you don't say out loud in Sunday School or anywhere for that matter...  This is one of them.  Especially when everyone already thinks you are kind of a crazy person.

"Stop laughing, you're making me self conscious."
-Kiersten, Cole's new little gf or whatever...:)
I can't remember what exactly it was that she said but I couldn't stop laughing AT her, so she started to feel uncomfortable.  Clearly she doesn't "get" me yet.  Sometimes I just laugh and can't stop.  I don't mean anything bad by it [usually], it just happens!

"You're all, "I might be from Idaho but I've never heard of that farm.'"
-Kim, YSA ward
I've decided that I really like this girl.  She's hilarious.   We were talking about how I was from Idaho and later we were talking about "Black Island Farm" here in Utah and I couldn't remember which one it was and she said that ^^ totally making fun of me being from Idaho.  haha. I  got a good laugh out of it.

"I'd rather have the boogieman come and take my soul than spend time with you."
-Savanna
Have you ever been invited to do something and you can think of a million horrible things you'd rather have happen to you instead? Yeah, sometimes Savanna and I like being a little dramatic but there are times when things like ^this^ sound much more appealing than the alternative.

"Well, I woke up this morning and was still fat."
-Girl in ward talking about her High/Low part of the day at an Enrichment Activity
Omg, I died laughing.  It's like, "umm, that's not the kind of Low we were talking about. but Ok."  BAHAHAHAHAHA.

"It's like an Oreo in a quilt!" -Kier comparing our Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies to a "pig in a blanket
"More like and Oreo in an afghan, maybe?" -Me (which didn't even make sense)
".......Afghan's don't have Oreos.  They don't even have a Walmart." -Sam
BAHAHAHA omg. I cannot.  Like we were really talking about Afghanistan or something. HA

Keep the Faith

I remember my mom tell us when we were younger, "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all."  Don't mom's know that is hard?  jesh. Well, I've spent this last week living by that rule when it comes to blogging.  I didn't write anything down because I didn't really have anything positive to say.

Lately it's seemed to be one thing after another.  Stresses with figuring out the brother's next step in life, crazy trips to the dentist (yet again), missing home and my family terribly, and feeling really disconnected with people, things, goals and beliefs that used to be a major part of my life and who I thought I was as a person.

When crazy stuff like this happens, big or small, we usually wonder, "Why me?"  For example, I was talking to my mom yesterday, and it's no secret that things have never really been easy for her and my dad in general, but she called me a little upset and told me that one of their steers that was ready to go to the butcher on Tuesday had bloated and died.  She was devastated. This happens to even the best of farmers and unfortunately isn't the first time it's happened to us.  But this time it was one worth $1,400, was sold, and was only THREE days away from being slaughtered to turn into meat for a family friend and a little bit of cash in my dad's pocket. A loss.  She begin to talk about how they try to do everything right...they pay their tithing, go to church yada yada yada... but we concluded that crap just happens sometimes and that it can always be worse.  Standard answer.

This isn't a new concept, but bad things happen to good people everyday and the best thing we can do it learn from it.  Maybe there isn't anything my dad could have done to prevent that steer from dying yesterday, but you can better believe that he will have to work a little harder now at budgeting his animal money and figuring out what he's going to do to make up for that loss.  Whatever the case, we learn to pick up and move on.

Sometimes our problems seem like the end of the world when we are going through them, but I've been through way too many "UPs" that came along with all the "downs" to just throw in the towel because I know that everything will eventually get better and be OK.

I'm not going to sit here and get all deep and write about all the specific things I wish I had the courage to change/do with my life, but I will say that today, for the first time in a long time, I've realized how weak I really am.  That's not something I like to admit.  Like, at all.  In fact, I've always had some deep rooted self image issues that I won't get into BUT the one thing I've always loved about myself was that I always knew exactly what I stood for, what I believed in and rarely faltered.  Lately, Satan's figured out those very things that I used to love about myself and has been working really hard at trying to shake it....  He starts small, he is mean, and he is good at what he does.

You're probably thinking that I'm a super bad person lately or something, and I don't think that's true.  I still go to church, I pray, I pay my tithing, and I'm a pretty loving person.  But Satan will do anything to make you feel like you are a bad person because he doesn't want you to be happy because he is unhappy.  Misery loves company and well... I'm pretty good company, so I get it.  But really...homeboy needs to lay off.

Here's where I wrap this madness up... (sorry if none of this makes sense but I'm writing this for myself anyways). I went to church today feeling pretty horrible and praying for some much needed peace and comfort...Instead I sat through church feeling even more horrible and weak.  humph. Who knew it was actually an answer to my prayer? ! :)

I read this scripture:

Ether 12:27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them theiraweakness. I bgive unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my cgrace is sufficient for all men that dhumble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make eweak things become strong unto them.

I am grateful for my specific weaknesses and trials and this time Heavenly Father has given me to humble myself and prove myself and my love for Him.  I make mistakes everyday.  I am not perfect.  But I do love God more than I love Satan and his false depiction of what "happiness" really is.  I know what I need to do and that is to just work a little harder, have a little more courage, do a little better each day and have more faith.

Whatever you are going through (because I know I'm not the only one who is this hard on themselves or who is under personal attack), remember...we all have those days/weeks/months but we must Keep the Faith. Heavenly Father isn't going to let us do it alone if we are asking Him for help and trying.

Back to the basics for this girl;)

Signed--Almost 25 and still learning.

Possibly the shortest Wednesday post everrr. Deal :)

"How do you like your Babyless..." -Jaym
"LIFE? my baby-less life?  That's rude."
I guess I should probably let people finish talking before I jump to conclusions.  She really was asking me how I liked my "Babyliss" straightner.  [which I'm obsessed with BTW]. HA.

"Who's wearing diapers here?"
-Sam to his niece and nephews while babysitting at our apartment on Saturday.
I kid you not. The best part is that the kids were 6, 4 and 2. Like he was expecting the 2 year old to raise his hand or something.  And asking the 6 year old?! HA!

"It feels weird.  It touched my dangly."
-Nieko
HAHA. You know they say that the most effective way to eat wings is to stick the whole thing in your mouth, bite down a little and pull out the bone. right.  Sure, it's efficient if you're doing the blazin' challenge at BWW or something but it's just not nessacary for just "going out to dinner."  Definitely not the classiest of ways to eat wings.  And, although it works, apparently it feels weird if you let it go back so far that it touches your "dangly."  Just in case you were wondering.

"The question is, would you feel comfortable doing that in front of Jesus?"
-Kid in Ward
Here's the thing--I don't know if he was kidding because we aren't good enough friends to know if he was or not.  But that's why it's a problem because when you don't know if people are kidding then it's like "judge me then I'll judge you." you know? GAH, another thing Jesus wouldn't do.  Dang it.  I guess we should just try not judge.  And if we're kidding--Let's tell people we are!

p.s. I finally came to the decision that he had to have been kidding. haha

"Yeah, I'll wear an "S" like in the Scarlet Letter!" -Sam
"Um. That was an "A".... For Adulterer.  But, good try." -me
I'm not sure if I loved this more because he thought he was right for a second, or that this happened in the hallway at Church on Sunday...

"I break a commandment every time I look at him because I definitely lust after him."
-Mandy about Adam Levine.
I.heard.that girrrrrrrrrl!  Have you seen him these days?  We love him.  Esp the tats.  Homeboy got.it.going.on, for real.  Did I ever tell you about the guy at work that looks like him? Oh, well, true story.  Amy and I like to sing "Moooves like Jagger" or "Payphone" every time we see him.  It's kind of great.

Just a little blah blah blah, yada yada yada journal update

I knew this week was going to be long when I woke up with really bad woman pains on Monday morning.  I think Savanna said it best.."We should just get period days off from work." haha ok, maybe not go that extreme and maybe a little TMI, but you get my point.  The story is that I made it into work that day only to realize that I really didn't want to be there....like, at all.

so I left.

...and that started my long week.

Things have been a little crazy in my little world.  Not in the "I can't handle" it kind of way but just in the "I've had stress headaches all week, I'm homesick, can't seem to get enough sleep, my eyes are a hazy/fugly red color and I look like a homeless person" kind of way. yep.  That about sums it up.  Basically it's just one of those bearable weeks where nothing really bad happens and you're totally happy to be alive but just really "merp."

After talking it out with a few people I know what the issues are and where they are stemming from. I mean, I'm not stupid. I know I'm the main problem.  But will someone please just tell me that I'm not the only one that hates making that initial step towards big/hard change?  It sucks.  You know what sucks the worst about it?  Figuring out what exactly it is that you need to change.  Did I mention "it sucks?" oh yeah.

Well, I'm in that stage right now.  I know a few changes need to happen but I'm just not sure how I'm going to do that without changing some other people's lives as well.  But I also know that if I don't make the change then I'm probably doing more damage in the long run or just prolonging the inevitable   See, it's a real problem.  So, if someone would just help me figure out what I need to be doing with MY life next and where I need to be, that would at least make it a little easier.

I'll figure it out eventually, I know I will.  I guess at least I'm admitting that there is a problem.  That's the first step, right?!

Anyways....Few items of business/catch up.

I've mentioned that Cole and I have a new roommate, Sam (who really isn't new because he's been a friend for two years now) and actually.. that's been going pretty great. We have been adjusting to the whole idea of it and have so far enjoyed making and eating dinners together, and watching MOST of the same shows. [I say most because, I honestly have no desire to watch as much football or Fantasy Factory as they watch...and, I know they say they don't care for Vampire Diaries but... get real.]  So they share a room, and I don't know how they do it, but they make it work and really, the extra rent is nice ;)

Anyways,  the not so good part right now is that Cole is still looking for a job.  Side note--I'm sorry to any of you who are searching for a job right now because it's a nightmare.  But really?! Someone just needs to give homeboy a job.  I actually feel for him because I know how badly he wants/needs something so that he can make money to move on towards whatever it is that he wants to do with his life.  No one wants to be stagnant and put their future on hold for so long.  That can't be fun.  In fact, I know it's not.  It's stressful.  Well, things haven't been the easiest for him (except in the girl department. kid's got game) and I know that he'll get it figured out someday.  But right now, I would seriously leap for joy if he got an email or a call about a job saying "COME ON DOWN" (Yes, I think life should be treated like game show or reality tv sometimes. nbd).  If that did happen, that might make these headaches and "stoned" eyes go away.   We're praying.

On a lighter note...Bridget over in Travel just sent over the itinerary for my and Amy's very first FranklinCovey business trip for the beginning of November.  We're going to TAMPA!  Sure, it's only for a few days and we will spend 8 totally hours one day doing some stuff for work but any time that I can miss work for three days and get paid to get on a plane and go across the country and have more down time than work time?..I'm your girl!  I'm actually pretty excited for the seminar we are attending.  We're going to a new productivity workshop that we run at FranklinCovey called "5 Choices Essentials" so basically we should come back with some great tips on how to prioritize our lives, be productive, and make good life choices.  I'm all about that :)

OMG, you guys, just WAIT until you see Mason in his Halloween costume this year.  I won't tell you what it is but I've said it before and I will say it again.. that kid is adorable.  And his costume?  I'll just tell you that it's an animal and he's so cute in it that I could just eat him up.  I'm totally going to make him put it on when I'm home for the holidays. That's a FOR SURE thing.  Did that give it away? ;) anyways.  you're in for a treat. for real.

humph...

Basically, I need the weekend.  I need the time to breathe and rid myself of my controlling "motherly ways", do a little Apartment appreciation, and have a little fun too :) We're going to nightmare on 13th tomorrow. OOOOMMMGGG, I love it!  Maybe I will actually use the weekend to start thinking about what I even want to be for  Halloween or watch Hocus Pocus.  Yeah.. my favorite month is flying by while I'm over here being all stressed and dumb and not enjoying it as much as I should.

That's it.  Watch out October.  After tonight, when I get rid of this headache and crappy eye situation... You're MINE!

Just another Wednesday!

"...Hammer Toe." -me talking about our ridiculous feet genetics
"WHAT!?!" -Dad
"HAMMER toe, not CAMEL toe, Dad!!!" -Me
The best part is that I knew exactly what he thought he heard.  Oh dad.

"You could come over and play with me and the kids one night.  You like kids, right?"
-Alex
Clearly I need to work on that if one of my best friends has to question if I like kids.  Let me clear it up.. I love kids.  In fact, I'd like to even have a couple some day!  Sure, I get a little anxiety when it comes to messes, chaos, and the entire idea of pregnancy and child birth.. but I do love kids, PEOPLE!

"I'm gunna punch you in the ovaries." -Cole to mom
"I don't have any." -mom
LOL.  It was totally one of those moments where you want to laugh so bad but at first it's like the "OH. Awkward."  You know, like bringing up someone's mom or pet or something and then them saying something like "She's dead"  OR asking someone why they are walking funny and they tell you they have a disease (LOL, still laughing about that one, Nieko.)  But then you end up laughing about it anyways...even if you are a little embarrassed.

"Jane, you ignorant SLUT!"
-Dad to mom
Apparently it's a Saturday Night Live skit and I thought my dad just brought it up on the first night they were visiting because he knew we'd laugh at it and dad is just a character like that.  And we did laugh.  We also laughed the next morning when mom said he kept calling her that while they were in bed going to sleep.  It's like WHAAAAT?! bahaha.  Who calls their wife a slut?! haha.  Classic.  Good to know they still joke around in their "older" age.  (Mom, I'm kidding!)

"A male member ..."
-Dad
You'd think that I was just talking about a member of the church or something since we were watching conference.  Nope.  That is what dad called his man privates.  BAHAHAHA.  I was like whaaaaat did you just call it?  Yes, that is the dad that I decided I REALLY hate the word..member.  *shiver*

"I think I'm going home... I have THE WORST cramps of my life." -me
"Dang it.  Maybe you're pregnant with an alien baby." -Jamie
Yep.  Yep, that's probably it.  I can't believe I forgot to mention that I was abducted by aliens and am now with child.  Way to ruin the surprise, Jaym. UGH! Now I can't be cliche' and announce my pregnancy with a picture of me holding my pee stick. FMLLLLLLLL :'(

"I've never seen it but I heard this show is Hungry...I mean I'm hungry."
-Nieko
HA! Clearly someone needed some food :)

"OH NO, Booby Trap!" -Me commenting on one of our shows.
"I like boobies...traps." -Sam
Nice.

"Boys are dumb!!!" -Mom
"I was NEVER dumb." -dad
"Yeah you were, you grabbed {so and so's} boob back in the day and got stabbed in the leg with a pencil because of it.  That was dumb." -Mom
"No. That was fun." -Dad
I'm not sure what is funnier.  1.)The true story about dad grabbing a girl's boob back in the day and ACTUALLY getting stabbed with a pencil, 2.) the fact that the 'boob girl's' sister married my dad's brother so we see her all the time, OR 3.) the fact that my parents still joke about boobs.

hahahaha.  Not sure.

"Why is there cake and ice cream?  Is it someone's birthday?"
-Liz
This is the part where I put on my dramatic acting skills and quickly convinced her that it was my birthday and how I couldn't believe she missed it.  "That's why my parents came down this weekend," I told her.  Sucker.  I guess it's nice that she trusts me enough to believe that I am always telling the truth but listen, What friend doesn't know the MONTH of their friend's birthday? Rude, Liz.. RUDE.  hahaha jk.  but really....  All the boys at least knew the month.  Neat.

For the record.  It's November 29th. 50 days away. The big 25...
I enjoy cheesy cards and being reminded that I'm still young :) thanks.

Moments.

My dear friend Savanna wrote the cutest post the other day about her and her husband's first real kiss.  I loved this post.  Not just because I'm kind of a closet sucker for love stories and mushy things, but because I love how she talked about she remembers the moment that it happened and how she instantly made it a memory that she will remember for the rest of her life.

You know what I'm talking about right?  Those moments, big or small, where you take a deep breath and think "wow, I'm going to want to remember this moment for the rest of my life." And then you close your eyes and you take it all in and you remember exactly where you were, who you were with, and how your life would not have been complete without that moment...even if it's a miserable moment because whatever the case, that moment helps define a little piece of who you are.

I wish that I made my memory work a little harder sometimes because I know I have a lot of these moments but sometimes, if you aren't paying attention, you can miss some of these moments.  So when Savanna blogged about this the other day I couldn't help but want to make sure that I pay extra special attention to little moments that I will want to remember for the rest of my life.  You know, so I can take them in and put them in my "Jenn Memory Bank :)"  Sure, my moments might not be about boyfriends and that kind of love and relationships (yada, yada, yada) because, the truth is.. I've never had a boyfriend.  [not a shocker to anyone who knows me:)]  But that doesn't make my moments any less significant.

As I sit here typing recalling some of these memories, I can think of quite a few.  Here's an exclusive one: I remember standing in the back of the auditorium at the college of Southern Idaho near the end of my Senior year of high school, holding hands with the 9 other people who made it to the final 10 to serve as a State FFA officer for the following year.  It might sound silly to a lot of people but I remember everything about that moment.  I remember the lighting, my palms sweating, how badly I wanted my name to be called, how confident I was, and how disappointed I was when my name wasn't called.  I remember it all. I was devastated...But along with that memory I remember later getting to BYU-Idaho and changing my major, and meeting so many great people and making so many great memories and finally realizing that getting a State office just wasn't in my plan.  I remember walking home from from the Benson building on campus and feeling this calm peaceful feeling.  In that exact moment I realized that I was in the right place, doing what I was supposed to be doing, at the exact time I was supposed to be doing it.  If my name would have been announced that day back then to become a State officer, my life would have been totally different.  I would have been on a different time schedule and probably at a different school.  I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good life, but I just remember gaining a strong testimony that day that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us.  I've never doubted it for a moment since.

See--it's moments like that.  I honestly could think of a lot more but that was the first big one that comes to mind.  Honestly, I just want to do a lot better at taking notes of these moments.

I had another special one today.  Mom and Dad came to visit cole and I this weekend for less than 48 hours.  We went to the movies, out to eat, to the mall, watched conference, and really just spent some quality time together.  As I've moved away from home and gotten older, my parents have seriously became my favorite people in the world.  They are hilarious, and they just have so much love for us.  I honestly wish that I lived closer to them and don't worry, mom always comments that she wants us to move back to Idaho.  I keep telling her to find me a job over there and I would move back in a heartbeat...someday I hope!  But as we got up this morning and got them packed up and ready to leave, we knelt for a family prayer like we always do before we head out on any kind of trip.  Mom said the prayer and the spirit was so strong...You guys, my mom is such a great lady.  If I could be half the great person she is someday, then that would be great.  As she got up from saying the prayer, she starting crying (like she always does when we have to say "goodbye").  I grabbed her and gave her a hug and chuckled because that's just how it goes every time.   But this time was a little different.  My dad grabbed us and pulled Cole in and we had the cutest family hug in the middle of my living room...

...You better believe that I closed my eyes and took it all in.

You guys, I would do anything for my family.  I honestly don't know why I was blessed with such a great one.  Sure, we have our problems and go through struggles like everyone else but no matter how hard life gets, in the end...family just makes life better.

Don't miss out on an opportunity to tell the people you love how much you care for them.  And while you're trying to just "make it" like everyone else, don't forget to take in those moments I'm talking about.  I honestly feel like paying special attention to it makes life mean a little bit more.

Falling into FALL!

HOLD THE PHONE.
It's already the 5th of October.
Can you believe it?

I've said it before that October is my favorite month and Halloween is my favorite holiday but the time is just going by way too fast and I haven't put as much thought into Halloween this year as I have in the past.  Where has all the excitement gone?  I mean, I haven't even decided if I'm going to do a party because you know, the neighbors and the noise scare.  What a nightmare.  I love throwing parties :(  Maybe I will just make some fall treats or something and have people over for yet another scary movie?.. even though I've decided [for the millionth time] that I should probably consider cutting things out again but then I remembered it's the holidays.  eek. Another Nightmare.  not kidding.

Well, the calendars at work and my desktop on my computer have been changed to rep the beautiful fall colors, pumpkins ect and I should have taken a picture of my apartment because I have most of my decorations out already and it's pretty cute!! :) I even went and FINALLY bought a book case/shelf for my living room so I would have some space to put some things out (which I don't have yet because I've never had a place for "things" so I've just never been a purchaser of such "things".) great,  maybe the shelf was a bad idea.  We'll see.

Basically fall in full swing and it's not stopping.  So hold on!  We've already done one haunted house so far and I've yet to bust out Hocus Pocus but have you seen some of the trailers for the scary movies coming out over the next couple of weeks?! love it.  Basically, I'm just glad that I found a friend like Liz because she enjoys that stuff just as much as I do. Why we love it, I don't know? Because we are still pretty big babies when it comes to most of it.  haha.

So here are some of my favorite fall things:

1-If you love Fall/Halloween like I do then one of your favorite things to do is to go into places like Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Tai Pan ect.. seriously, makes my day.  I just love it!
2-Haunted houses. that's a given.
3-Scary Movies.  obvi.
4-The Smells.  You guys, if you don't have these smells and you enjoy spice like I do... order them.  Like, right now!

5-I've also been on this kick with real candles.  I haven't burnt a real candle for a while because I lived in College apartments for 4 years and they didn't "allow" open flame, but now that I have renters insurance [I know, adult], I basically do what I want.  haha.  But really there is just something about burning a real candle.  I sometimes feel like it has a more homey/fall feeling.  I guess it would depend on the candle.  But try it.
Don't get me wrong, I burn scentsy way more :)

6- Fall Treats. Again, Kill.me.now. But let me eat this first.  Then I'll die.  mmmm.

Really, though, this stuff is fab.  Recipe here.

So, The parentals are coming into town this weekend.  Since it's conference weekend I'm not really sure what we will do.. Probably eat out way too much, see a movie and I'll drag mom to the mall and take her to Tai Pan and stuff.  It should be a good time! I sure do love my parents.  Get this, though.. they are totally coming down today for a mission reunion.  haha.  Didn't think that old people still did that? yeah, they do.  Don't worry, my mom and dad are one of "those" couples who met on their mission in England.  Don't judge though, they totally didn't 'hook up' until they ran into each other at a tri stake singles ward dance.  bahahhaha. old people. smh.  Funny!  Part of me kind of wishes I could go with them to their reunion tonight because i'm sure there will be some pretty good stories.  And people judging each other. My kind of good time!

Well, have a great weekend.  Happy Conference Watching :)

Another Wednesday!

"Look. She's totally white.  She's trying to do the robot."
-Cole
bahahaha. We were trying to decide if this lady on the X Factor was white or some kind of mix.  Why? Who knows.  However, Cole said this ^ and it was like, "Touche'."

"Have you calmed down yet?"
-Nieko
Of course Nieko had to be there when I was watching the season Premiere of Grey's Anatomy.  Did you guys watch that!?!? UGH.  Horrible.  I decided that I held it in way better than I would have if Sam and Nieko weren't in the room.  However, that's not saying much.  I could still cry about it... and then I just picture Nieko laughing at me.  I don't blame him.  Especially after Sam confirmed the following:

"Well, good thing it's not real."
-Sam
wow.  Thanks for caring.

"Guys, what if we die while we're young?"
-Nieko
Pretty sure we were listening to the new Ke$ha song, "Live while we're young" and he posed that serious question.  We all just looked at each other in silence for a couple seconds and then busted up laughing.  But really.  What if?  questions about death are legit.  It could happen.  I just try not to think about it ;)

"I'm actually from across the street.  Hey pretty lady...More gorgeous ladies coming through!!!!"
-Guy at the haunted house.
I had plenty of creepy people come up to me at the Haunted house try to freak me out.  There was a pig man (who I found out later that the boys told him to attack me), a creepy guy in this jumpsuit who was snorting and I'm pretty sure he wanted to make a skin suit out of me... but the one that gave me the biggest heebie jeebies was the guy who looked like a normal biking dude.  Normal shorts, black tee... goatee... but holding a bat saying ^^^ those things.  Think about it.  Haunted houses are like a play ground for serial killers.  They could totally just sneak in with a bat and bash people in.  UGH.  No joke.  He was a Nightmare.

"You have a complex about getting sauce on your hands, don't you?" -Nieko to Jared at Buffalo Wild Wings
"I don't like getting dirty."- Jared said in the most serious tone.
just picture Nieko and I sitting there staring at each other TRYING not to laugh.. only to bust up a minute later and claim that it was about something else;  It was not.  It was straight up about Jared wiping his hands with his wet naps.. over and over again.

"Oh no.  I just hash tagged "YOKO" instead of "YOLO."
-Jess
Ummm.. the question is why did you hash tag "yolo" anyways? haha. Love her.

"Someone called Greg... wait, what's his name?" -Sam
"Jared." -Me
hahaha.  The best part is that they've known each other for a while. Jared--Don't get offended.  Sometime I forget my own name;  It happens.  I just couldn't stop laughing about the fact that Greg was the name he came up with.  We don't have a friend named Greg. Wait a minute.. maybe he was thinking Greg from "Geordie Shore." haha that has to be it.

"Don't quote me on that."
-Jamie immediately after she said something gross
There are plenty of times that things are said everyday, but I don't write them down because, well, they are either embarrassing for the person or just a little inappropriate.  The best is when people know that they could be quoted for anything that they say around me.  Jamie quickly made sure I wouldn't quote her after she said something SICK about that "Hunny Boo Boo" character.  Like bahahaha, super gross.  Even better, is the fact that we were talking on the phone and she said it super loud and you know people at work heard her. haha. Sucker!

"Give me a bite of that." -Wendy
"Tell me a juicier story.."-Me
It's not a secret that I enjoy a juicy story.  Who doesn't?  So when someone wants something from me and I've been trying to get more information out of them, I use it to my benefit!  It's like, "Oh, you want a bite of this delicious coconut luna bar drizzled with Chocolate?  Well then you better start telling me more than that."  It usually works.  But this morning.. The kissing story didn't cut it.  No bites for you, Wendy bird :)

"oops. Not picking that up!"
-Cameron at FHE.
So...I didn't see that something fell at my of purse as I was chatting with some people and looking for my keys.  All of a sudden I see that Cameron leans down in front of me to pick it up and realized it was a Tampon. BAHAHAHAHA.  I WOULD do something like that.  Crap like that doesn't embarrass me though.  It's not something I just flash around and I try to be sensitive to guys and their awkwardness towards anything feminine but when it does happen, I like to point and make people feel awkward; It's fun.  "TOUCH DOWNNNNNN"

Why wasn't party planning, going to the movies or tanning on the list? Rude.

I wish I kept a hand written diary.  However, I just don't make the time for it like I know I should.  Instead, I blog.  Not as many people read my blog as they used too ever since I decided to stop posting them on Facebook and such.  But I like that,  because it feels like less of a chore and more of just place to write crap down.

Anyways, I've been having this inner dilemma lately as we've been talking about Family History in church.  I love hearing all the stories (sad and happy) and about the things our ancestors experienced.  It's neat! So that just got me thinking about the fact that I have nothing like that.  Not that my life is super interesting.  BUT.. if I ever have kids, or Alzheimer's disease or something, I think it would be nice for them to know what I was like and what I did as a youngish adult :)  But, here's the thing... Aside from some occasional letters and notes, I just don't make time to write crap down.  It's sad really. But that's just how things are these days.  People type, text, blog, IM and email.  That's just how it works.  Times have changed.  It's like cursive writing?  whatever happened to that?! They made us learn that in elementary school but we never use it.  I mean, I don't...unless I'm scribbling my signature on a receipt or a contract at work.  hmmm.  cursive writing.. smh.  Do they even teach that in school anymore?  I'm assuming they do since everyone has to know how to sign their name for Credit Card receipts.  Wow.  Sorry for the side note but *MIND BLOWN*.  I sure hope they tell the kids that they will RARELY use that.  what a rip off.

Anyways, there are websites now that let you make your blog into a book, so I'm just banking on that at this point. So....sorry future offspring, if you ever come.. Sorry for none of the handwritten stories.  But, I'm doing you a favor.  My lefty penmanship is sad.

So for now, I'll blog.  I just probably need to work up some courage to write about certain things that I don't want to forget and lessons learned... I'll try.  Just as long as it doesn't turn into a non stop sad/ pitty party, then I'm good.. because followers/friends/future, possible offspring..no matter who it is, they don't want to hear sad things ALL the time.  BORING.

So.. I apologize if this blog ever makes you feel like this: haha

On that note--At church yesterday, they had everyone in the Relief Society fill out a sheet with likes/interest/Talents, ext.  The list had about 30 different things on it and they asked us to check all of the things that we were good at or were interested in.   You guys, I made fun of myself for this so you can too...

As I was skimming through the list I checked, "Crafts, Reading, cooking, Current Events..."and as I kept going through the rest of the things I realized that I didn't like any of the the rest of the things on the list at all!  In fact, half of them were sport things and for some of the others, placing a check by it would have been stretching it a pinch.  Like, I almost checked carpentry because that one time I made those big lips that are on the wall in my dining room and I really did love using that saw...that one time....

I'll be honest, I was a little embarrassed at first.  "Do I not like things?! Am I not a fun person?!" I quickly decided to check photography and computers in hopes to make myself seem a little less pathetic.  I mean, I like taking pictures (not that I'm good) and who doesn't use a computer these days, really?!  But then I realized the things that I had checked didn't really make me seem less pathetic at all.

haha. After finishing the sheet and writing "omg, I need to get some more interests:)" on the bottom, I realized a few things:

1-Maybe that just wasn't a very well rounded list...?
2-I'm always doing something but maybe I just need to make more time for a little more of a focused activity.  Like I could take up archery again, although I haven't done that since the preteen years.  Or crocheting?  I mean, my mom taught me how a long time ago (not sure if that helps my street cred)...
3-Sports just aren't my thing.  Period.  I don't think that makes me a less interesting person.
4- Basically, I'm Totally in the market for a new hobby.  I'll work on it.

But for the record--I have interests and I do love things :)
