Oh yeah, Wednesday, Yeah!

"Why would you trust a girl who has [Boobs] bigger than her head?"
-Tamera about Alexis, Real Housewives of OC
I used the word boobs instead because mom doesn't like the "Titty" word. [haha. oops. I might has well have just written it correctly.] I just think it's funny she said this about her on the same season where Tamera had her breast reduction and started referring to herself as a member of the "itty bitty titty committee" every other episode.  Let's just say, this girl had a TON removed herself and she's STILL a C.  But really she makes a good point.  I don't think boobs should be bigger than your head like Alexis' dis-proportioned body.  Unless you're Big Ang, maybe.

"You were starting to sound like the smoker woman so I hung up."
-Cole talking about my distorted voice over FaceTime
You know who I'm talking about right?  That nasty lady on all those commercials about smoking or whatever? [I honestly have never watched the full commercial or radio ad because Cole and I get SO creeped out by her voice that we either mute it or turn the channel.  No joke]  Well I guess FaceTime was skipping and my voice was getting distorted so Cole just Hung up on me because I sounded like her. She really creeps us out that bad.  That lady is a nightmare.

"I feel like we had a hot dog eating contest at girl's camp and you won."
-Jessica to Vicky
hahaha. We joke to Vicky all the time about hot dogs and honestly, it's just because of the movie "Mean Girls."  Totally just a joke. So when Jessica brought this up while we were eating ice cream last week (with out knowing about the ongoing joke), Nieko and I were dying!  Maybe it was the way she said it...or just the fact that it was about a Hot Dog Eating contest and Vicky and that she randomly brought it up?  Idk. funny.

(oh if you didn't notice we have a stray who started hanging out with us so you might see her quoted every now and again.  Ok, so she's not a stray.  She's Liz, Vicky and Amanda's friend who is home for the summer. She's funny!)

"If if was my own poop, it would be OK."
-Jessica
I've never watched Jackass 3D and probably never will.  But the boys had me watch the part on YouTube where Stevo gets launched up super high in a PORTA POTTY.  Um. Beyond nasty.  I mean, it doesn't take a scientist to know that when launched, the contents in said porta potty would not stay put. (gross, I know)  Well, Jessica brought it up for some reason (again, while eating) and went on to say that she would totally be fine if it was her own #2.  WHAT THE H, right?! uh no.  She even went further to say that it would be fine if the porta potty was used by only people she knew, namely us.  Umm pretty sure she just met us and that would be equally disgusting. haha. she's crazy.  that show is crazy.  I would never do it. don't YouTube it.  the end.

"We should be Italian."
-Nieko
This was followed by a more in depth late night conversation about how loyal, family oriented and awesome we were.  Yeah, it totally happened. We love the Italians.   Must be all the shows we watch.

"I like birds."
-Hooters waitress to Nieko about his last name
What do you even say to someone who says something that dumb to you?  It's like, were you trying to flirt or do you just really like birds? If you're looking for a bigger tip-- "Show us your [moooooves]" or something.  jk jk.

"Is that like, a popular song right now?"
-Amanda about the song, "California Love."
Guaranteed each of you know what song I'm talking about without you hearing me sing it or hearing it on the radio. Right? Ok, maybe a couple don't.  Picture me singing this. "California Looove. // CALIFORNIA...knows how to party.  CALIFORNIA....knows how to partyyyy........//In the citaaaay, City of Compton.  We keep it Rockin'.  We keep it Rockin."  You got it right?  Well it was on the radio and we were singing it and Amanda really wondered if it was a popular song right now that she'd just never heard.  So funny. RIP 2Pac.

"Dick's, [F U].  Can't get a job there either!"
-Nieko
hahahaha. Pretty self explanatory.  We were just driving by the mall at night and he passionately said this and we couldn't help but laugh. But really, give the kid a break.  Job hunting is harrrrd.  And really, Dick's.. Pretty sure Nieko and his family keep you in business.

"I've never seen you get so excited about a baby."
-Willy as I'm hitting him to notice this really cute baby at the zoo.
He knows I love tiny things but yes he was shocked because I was talking about an actual human baby which doesn't happen often.  Unless it's about Mason of course!  I should really learn to tone it down with the hitting thing when I get excited. I really can't control it but I assume it's really annoying.  Sorry to those I do this too all the time, [namely LIZ].

"Wait, that was you? I really thought that was the peacock!!"
-Ricky talking about our little encounter with the peacock at the zoo.
This was later followed with comments like "That was my favorite part of the zoo."  "Do it again," and other stuff like that.  If you don't know what I'm talking about... haha. I'm sorry.  Shortened version of it is that I do a pretty good peacock call, the peacocks usually always talk back to me, I had an audience at the zoo, and it was a little embarrassing.  The end. haha. OK, It was fun.  But really, they should hire me because I had those 20+ people entertained.  Basically, if I put a hat out on the ground, I probably would have gotten some tips.  Just saying.

"I hate those girls.  Even Rosie... She doesn't talk and I want to punch her in the face.  Every time they are on and James comes in the house, I have to turn the channel because they make him want to throw stuff at the TV..and I don't want the TV to break."
-Jamie on the topic of Sophia Grace and Rosie
bahahahahaha. Yes, this rant about these girls totally happened yesterday over the phone.  Most people think they are funny but I think it's because they are so over used lately that the Smith house just can't stand them. hahaha.  Note--she really wouldn't punch a little girl in the face but she was serious about not wanting her TV to break.

"I love it when you smell so good that you'd make out with yourself."
-Bradlee talking about my perfume.
haha. So I know the video I posted yesterday doesn't really help my case when I say that he didn't mean this literally. haha But that's a good way to look at perfume and cologne.  I mean, I love smelling good just as much as anyone else.  So if you try a scent and you find yourself smelling so good that that you'd make out with yourself (again, not literally because that would just be awkward), I think you definitely have a winner..  Thank you, Bradlee for shedding light on the topic and confirming the winning perfume. ha

"I'm not supposed to say words like stupid in front of Mason...Or Douche bag." -mom
"HAHAHA.  Did Jamie specifically tell you not to say douche bag in front of the baby?" -me
"No. It's just the first word that popped into my head." -mom
hahahaha.  This gave me a good laugh this morning.  First of all because I'm not sure why she would say DB in front of Mason or why it's the first word that popped into her head but I did laugh pretty hard when she ended our convo with "don't go putting that on your blog!!!" haha. SORRY, mom! That's your punishment for saying Douche bag this morning.   You feelin' me?! ;)

Long Weekend.

What a great long weekend jammed packed with fabulously fun people whom I adore.  Sure, I would have loved to spend time with my family back home but my friends here always seem to make up for it in one way or another.  I didn't do all of the little things I'd planned on doing...I guess because I was just setting myself up for a weekend without anything to do.  Who was I kidding?!

-I deep cleaned/organized my bathroom.

-Watched the first episode of Revenge, only to find out that neither ABC.com or Netflix didn't have the other episodes online that I needed.  mega bummed, to say the least. BOO.

-Went to my second ever ReAl Salt Lake Game.  It was cold but the last 15 minutes of the game was actually exciting.  We just wished the drunks in front of us would have shown up sooner.  Apparently they knew that only the last 15 minutes were exciting.  Thanks, Homies for spilling your beer and making it stink and for letting us in on the secret about coming late.  Meh.  They were entertaining.

-Went to Hooters. Caught the end of the UFC fight. *Drool* [over the wings, DUH]

-Went to the Zoo again. Loved being out in the nice weather with some of the friendlies:)

Aren't these girls GORG?!

-Went to a Family BBQ with Liz!  [See, this is what I'm talking about.... I love my friends for making me feel like I have a family away from home.]

-Went out to Justin's for Golfing, shooting guns, chilling by the fire, making smores... and...

uhhhhh a little of this!! bahahaha.  See Video Below. This was after we just found out that there is a "Rate My Kiss" app for smart phones.  Naturally, we downloaded two different ones.. When Bradlee heard Willy got a 99 out of 100, he kept going until he tied Willy or beat him.  PRETTY SURE they don't give 100's and pretty sure listening to him was hilarious.   Jess and I had to get a video of it. HAHAHA.

What has this world come too?  Trusting a smart phone to rate how good we are at kissing? smh. ridiculously pathetic/hilarious.

For the record--he finally tied Willy with a 99 out of 100. ha.
We're a little special.

A long weekend to Breathe.

You know you didn't get enough sleep (the last two nights) when you wake up and you only have 5 Facebook updates to catch up on from all of your FB friends.  That and you show up to work and think, "omg, what am I wearing?" But I guess that's just how it goes in the summer:  Hang out almost every night, stay up too late, catch up on all the drama, occasionally sleep through your alarm, go to work, and do it all over again.  It's a tough life being young and single, I tell ya!

Surprisingly, I'm awake today and somehow got to work BEFORE the 8 o'clock hour.  I give full credit to the fact that I'm super excited that today is Friday and we have a long weekend ahead of us. H-to the ELL- to the- YES! I don't really have any big plans for the weekend at all but sometimes those are the best.  I've pretty much decided that I will enjoy it either way.  I plan on cleaning, sleeping, doing a little laundry/organizing, hanging out, making a Sephora run and, per Nieko's request==finally sitting down to watch the first Season of Revenge.  It should be a great weekend I think :)  [the only thing that would make it better was if I didn't have a Linger Longer to do on Sunday. fml.]

Here are some Random things in my brain as of late to help me clear my mind and kick off the weekend:

Wednesday night Nieko was reading stuff to me from  #mindblown on Twitter and on the real.. My mind was blown multiple times.  Like have you ever thought about this? :

If you're born deaf, what language do you think in?
mind blown.

I honestly still can't stop thinking about that.  Sometimes I let my thoughts go so far to think..wait, how do they even have thoughts?  But then I backed up and realized I was just getting ridiculous.  But really?  Do they think in Russian, Spanish, English, or something Asian?  They've never heard words or the way people around them are speaking.  Honestly, the more I think about it, the more my mind is blown.

You've heard people say that they learn something from everyone they meet, right? Is it bad that when it comes to a lot of people, I mostly just learn how to not be stupid?  That might sound horrible but it's true lately.  I just feel like I'm surrounded by all sorts of dumb and then all I think is "wow, I really need to learn how to be more kind."  Working on it.  Of course I take in a lot of good too but that's besides the point.

I really do believe that everything happens for a reason.  One of my favorite things is having an "A HA" moment where I think "omg, If I wouldn't have done this, or gone through that, I wouldn't be here today or I wouldn't understand it the way I do now."  I love it.  And normally those things were huge trials that happened way back when that now, are just "little lessons I learned upon a time."

If there is something that you need to do and you feel like you'll never get your mind off of it until you do it--just do it!

It's official--Hansen's have bad teeth.  I feel bad for any future kids I may have because seriously, it's not fun.  I recently had a root canal done (my second one) and we just found out that now Cole has to have some work done too.  Oh but HELLO, he's in Canada.  Do they take American insurance over there? of course not.  So now we are in the process of trying to figure out what to do and he's facing some big decisions (such is life). So with that, and some previous events that went down this last week, my heart and my brain just hurt.  [Like I've said before, I just get too wrapped up in people's lives].

Sometimes life just gets so overwhelming.  Some people will inevitably screw you over, jobs won't work out, you'll get stressed, people won't have your back when you need them, you'll have illnesses, things won't go the way you planned them too, and bills will always come.  It's easy to let all of these things get you down because, let's be honest, most of them tend to hit all at once it seems.  The easiest thing for us to do is to want to run away or ignore the situation hoping that it will just get better or (my favorite) we just want someone else to solve it for us or to tell us what to do because it's THAT overwhelming. But we know that it doesn't work that way.

Friends, whatever you are going through, (and I am right there with you) we have to push through it, no matter what. I think the most important thing that I've realized when I've been faced with things like this is that we have to trust ourselves and what we want to do while relying on the lord and our close family and friends for the back up and comfort.  We can't care about what people think about us but we have to be aware of the people around us and the lives that we are effecting as well.... Life just gets hard sometimes but we have to push through, trust ourselves, and have faith.

In the game of life you have to take risks and gamble because if you don't gamble then you don't progress.  But remember to be smart with each move you make.  Sometimes you have to go all in and trust your gut. Sometimes you have to fold. Sometimes you feel like you lose everything but all you need is that ONE chip to keep you in the game. Whatever that one thing is--hold on to it.  Don't lose it.  I  surely don't know all answers, I can't count cards and I don't know a lot of tricks to make things easy ...But I do know that you don't get better at anything without practice, learning to call people's bluff, trusting your gut, and taking a leap of faith.

Alright, I'm going to stop because I realized I just went off for way too long.  But see, unlike people who are keeping things inside, I feel better!

Cheers to the FREAKING weekend.
--Praying for some reality checks, positive confrontations, peace and comfort for my loved ones, sleep, relaxation and some fun.

Have a great long weekend!
don't be dumb.

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best sister in the whole wide world!! I love you, Jamie :) :)

Wednesday!

As we transition into the summer, things have been a little different around here and in my life in general.  I'm not saying it's different in a bad way but it's been noticeably different this last week.  One thing that I'm definitely thankful for recently are the consistent people in my life who never cease to make me laugh.

These are some of those people :)

"Cannibal, you were born this way."
-Me and Nieko
It's true.  Nieko and I both think Gaga included this in her song.  I mean, she talks about everyone else in it.  Cannibals are real too, VICKY!

"Are you sure it's not Ke$ha's song "Cannibal" you are thinking about?"
-Vicky
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No Vicky.  Like we'd really get Ke$ha and Gaga lyrics mixed up.  puhlease!  We were singing the right song with the lyrics as we remember them!

"Is it just you and the Willinator there?"
-Sister Jamie who's never met Willy
hahaha. I love that she's never met him but she has a nickname for him.  But yeah, this nickname is a thing now.

"I have to Urinate!"
-Hoda
Hoda, KLG and I are kindred spirits, I swear.  I laughed so hard when she said this on the show...mostly because she was laughing about what KLG had to say about big boobs, saggy boobs, and all sorts of boobs. Yeah, we'd so be friends.

"Every time we watch a funny movie at your house, you cry."
-Nieko
Ok, can I clear up the "every time" thing because that sounds like it's happened a billion times.  For the record, I've only watched 2 funny movies with Nieko at my house. (We try not to watch movies because we like talking..haha) So yes, it's 2 for 2..But really?! we all know that I'm an emotional person sometimes.  The Bridesmaid thing was a fluke and some real life crap went down during Superstar.  Oh geezz. yet another thing he will never let me live down.  Add it to the list!

"He is one fine piece of A"
-Vicky
Hahaha. Ok.  I'm surprised I'm still alive to write this down right now because I laughed so hard when she said this about one of the guys we've hung out with a few times.  I was cheering him on and she (in a super black way) INSTANTLY responded with that ^^^ and totally meant it.  Oh, did I mention we were at the church?  We so were. Oh "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, Vicky."

"I watched Superstar today and it reminded me of you and how you'd act by yourself in real life."
-Nieko
ummm. yeah, that happened.  I couldn't actually find the clip of the part(s) he was talking about that reminded him of me but if you've seen the movie he said it was the parts where she's dancing around all weird in her room by herself. REALLY?  I don't do that...often. haha. jk. whatevs. I love that movie so I guess I will take it as a compliment?  *insert sad face and....one of these irrational lashing outs:

"Ready for Kissing!"
-Liz
I won't mention what was going on at this moment but hahahahaha--Oh, Esther!  Jump on it. Jump on it. ;) (or be prepared to suffer the consequences while we reap the reward. muahhhahahahahaha.)

"You're just like Brad but with the paranormal."
-Amanda
hahaha. High Five, Amanda! Fact--Brad likes watching weightlifting videos and such.  Fact numbero dos--Amanda pointed out that Liz is equally obsessed with ghosts and spirits and such. haha ok, maybe not equally obsessed but it was super funny!

"You look like Carly Rae Jeppson." -Me clearly talking to Liz
"ME?!?!?" -Willy
I'm not joking.  He really thought I was talking to him.  Yes willy, you look just like Carly Rae Jeppson! "Call me Maybe?!" ;)

"He's not a wiener." -Jamie
"Um, all guys are wieners." -Me.
"Yeah...." -Jamie
Ok, don't get me wrong we really don't just sit bash on men; We love men.  I mean, we've always been better friends with guys usually and Jamie is totally married.  But the comment worked with what we were talking about.  All guys are wieners about something in life.  Just like all girls are stupid when it comes to most things. It's a real life thing.

"Ewwww.  People are creepy."
-Mom after she laughed about my encounter with, yet another creepy old man.
Savanna and I have joked multiple times about the fact that I only get hit on by a couple different kinds of people 1.) Mexicans and 2.) Creepy old men. It's a curse, I swear.  The creepy old man thing, though,  happens way too often.  And why does it always have to be while I'm driving? [Actually.. that's probably better than NOT in my car, but still.]

Yesterday's creepy man is right up there with taking the award for being the creepiest.  Let's just say it was about 8 minutes on Legacy of trying to speed up/slow down so I didn't have him driving right next to me starring, nodding his head, and being super creepy.  I'm not exaggerating.  If I'd slow down, he'd do a complete head turn while driving.  nightmare.  Do I have an "I heart old men" or "Blonde and Easy" bumper sticker on my car or something that makes you think that I'd be interested or pull over or something?  No. Get real, dude--You could be my dad!

"I was hoping you wouldn’t have a RHWof Utah moment. Even though it might have been a little cool."
-Savanna
hahaha. We totally understand each other :)

I love Random followers

This rarely happens but sometimes I get random people who stumble across my blog for whatever reason and sometimes they comment..... :)

This week I got someone who actually made a Douche bag Jar after they read my post from a while ago! hahaha

I have no clue who she is.

Yes, I twitter stalked her.
Yes, She posted a pic of her product.

Yes, I love random readers! seriously.

"People of the World: Spice Up Your Life"

Remember when I recently said that I wanted some Drama because I was getting bored?  Well, I always end up mostly taking it back.  I mean, can't a girl just want for someone to have a random "Mormon Hook Up" or for someone to do something jaw dropping so we can talk about it and poke fun a little?  Is that too much to ask?  I mean, it's summer.  Who doesn't want some kind of fun drama like that?  Don't judge me for trying to follow the Spice Girls' advice when they said, "People of the World: SPICE UP YOUR LIFE."  That's all I wanted; a little drama to spice it up a little...Never REAL crap. smh

Let me break it down.  I rarely have my own crap that goes down and I prefer to keep it that way.  However, I've decided that for someone who usually doesn't care, I tend to get super invested in certain people's lives.  It's not usually what I plan on doing but it just sort of happens.  I guess that's what happens when it's someone you really care about and they come to you for advice?  whatev.

All I have to say is that I am so over people and their excuses for the way their life is going.  'So and So' wants this but is too lazy to actually do something about it, 'What's-their-name' desperately loves something but can't for whatever reason (usually cliche reasons), and then you have Captain and Ms. Oblivious who can't open their eyes to reality; It's so annoying. [If I'm ever that annoying you really have permission to corner me and poke all of the nasty bruises that mysteriously showed up on my legs this last week :/ haha but seriously.]

Can we all work on this together?  If you're making up an excuse for something in your life, whatever it is, can we just stop lying to ourselves and everyone else, tell the truth, and move the EFF on with whatever it is?  Let's choose to open our eyes on this beautiful day and say:

"you know what?--I lied,"
"I don't want to be with you or can't [this and this reason],"
"I'm really just insecure and say these things to hide [this and this],"
"I got myself into this and it's time to get myself out for good."

I don't know what it is in your particular life but I think we could spice up our lives in a positive and good way if we didn't have so much unnecessary drama that comes purely from being super stupid.

If we would just learn to be honest and communicate the way we really feel and do something about it, it would would diminish a huge chunk of unnecessary drama because people would truly understand where we are coming from, leaving people no other choice than to quickly get over it, leaving less time for gossip and judging and more time for positive and fun things!

No more excuses please.

be honest from the beginning (especially with people you love)
if you want it, make it happen. (walk the walk, not just talk the talk)
accept consequences/changes. (live with it)
stick up for yourself. (don't let people walk all over for you).
See things the way they really are (sometimes you can't always give people the benefit of the doubt)

Project Update!

Remember how I gave you a sneak peak earlier in the week of the project Ariana and I worked on last weekend?  Well, the project is now completed!  I finally brought it home last night (had to wait so it wouldn't stink up the A-P-T) and I'm so happy with the way it turned out.

Ok, ready for it?!?

Months ago I found this picture on pinterest and fell in love with it.  Only problem?  It didn't have a tutorial on how to do it.  Ariana assured me that we could get it done and after a little initial lack of faith, 5 total hours of hard work, squatting, and rocking it with a jig saw and some wood glue and....Viola!!  We did it:)

Here's the pictures of the process followed with an explanation below.

1.) Top Left.  At this point we didn't really know how to go about doing the project.  There wasn't a tutorial ANYWHERE on the Internet.  I mean, anywhere. Pinterest, Goog, nothing! So we just started putting down all of our pieces of wood (A pallet and some random pieces courtesy of Liz :) )  and started strategizing our plan of action.

2.) Top Right. We started cutting the pieces into skinnier ones and putting together the puzzle.  We knew that there were high points of the lips and shorter points so we just started to fit the side by side like so.  Ariana was rocking the saw for this part.  She's not the best at straight lines (unless she's cutting hair of course haha ;)) but honestly it was the best thing for this job because we didn't want it to be perfectly straight!  She did such a good job.

3.)  Bottom left. This is where it started to get fun.  We decided that the best way would be to take a pen and sketch the edges.  At this point we knew this was the "make or break it point" but we just kept going with it.  I got my hands on the saw this time and I honestly was impressing myself with each piece.  [dear santa, I want a jig saw for Christmas]. We picked up each piece, cut the edges and put them back into formation until it quickly turned into this...

4.) Bottom right.  So great right?!

Honestly once we got to this point it wasn't too hard.  We used 2 larger pieces of the pallet as a backing to each piece (top lip and bottom lip) and trimmed the edges so they couldn't be seen from the front view.  Our original plan was to use nails to place the pieces onto our "frame" but we quickly found that the nails would split the wood. [boo]

We ended up using Titebond II Premium Wood Glue that you can get from Home Depot for 4 bucks.  It wasn't the ideal thing to use, obviously but it worked like a champ!  (note--if you do this.  Be sure that your frame isn't warped at all to ensure that you get the tightest bond with the glue since clamps can't be used to hold the pieces in place while the glue dries.  We improvised a lot but it worked beautifully.

We then decided to use spray paint so we could easily get into the cracks to make sure the back frame could not be seen.  We used a white primer on the bottom to make sure our color would come out even, considering the pieces of wood were different kinds. To get the rustic look we used a red gloss spray paint directly on top of the primer. We only needed a can of each and it turned out like THIS:

Impressed?! haha. I am, but I suppose I'm biased. Of course, if you want more of a glossy look and less rustic/urban then just simply get another can of red paint and do another coat. I decided to keep mine as is for now. I like the feel of it. It might get a touch up later, we'll see.  But as of right now, we're obsessed. And let's be honest, it fits in with the dull colors in my living room. haha.

Of course it's not the same as the picture we found but, get real.  We made it and we love it!

At the end of the project if you have the wood already laying around, and a saw of course, the project will be under $15. WOOT WOOT.

I'm hanging it up tonight on the wall by my dining room table/kitchen.  I can post another picture at that point on instagram or something but I was just too excited and couldn't wait to share :)

Yet another Wednesday... sometimes it's the story behind it that's funny.

"How did guinea pigs come to pass anyways?"
"Maybe a pig and a mouse did the humpty dumpty."
-Coworker, Amy
haha is that what they are calling it these days?  The Humpty Dumpty?  If that's the case then Mother Goose was a real big perv.

"Want anything else?" -Amy in reference to ice cream
"Yeah.  Some peace and quiet so I can play my DS."
-Coworker Kristjan mocking another coworker
So if FranklinCovey had a reality TV show it would totally be "The real coworkers of FC."  And of course, if I was in it then you would all watch because you know that it would be DRAMA!! haha. Well, there's office drama up in here all the time, and as much as we hate it, we sometimes really get into it. The star of the show would be the guy who watches movies and sucks at hiding it and, after being caught and given a warning, has now switched to bringing in his DS (he probably jacked it from one of his kids) and playing it at his cube.  He tries to hide it but it's always an epic fail.  We make fun of him a lot and it's pretty funny.

"I'm not mad, I'm annoyed!!"
-Nieko about me starting to say no to him lately.
hahaha. Here's the thing... he's a really persuasive person.  I only said no to a couple of things he wanted me to do this weekend, both of which weren't even a big deal.  He just didn't like it too much. haha. And when I say that, I mean, he "accidentally" punched me in the face and poked my bruise on my leg a few times making it bigger... nice.  yeah.  I see why bully's get what they want.  Hazing it rude. hahaha j/k.  He's not a bully!

"I'm a little bit overwhelmed by you."
-Jamie about my singing Sister Act to her over the phone
haha. Really?  Of all of the things that I do, THAT makes you feel overwhelmed? oh geez.  Should I worry about my relationships with people who aren't my family? ha.

"You're looking really pale.  Why didn't you go tanning?"
-Nieko
Of course this was an inside joke because I'm not THAT pale.  There are just a few reasons why I can't go tanning right now and he likes to call me a baby for it.  OH yeah, that's another thing I said "No" to him about this week. haha.

"What the WTF?"
-Ariana about church songs coming up on shuffle
Of course it was funny because it was about church songs but it was even funnier because, as we all know, the W-T in "W-T-F" clearly already stands for "what the." haha smh.

"it's the biggest, nastiest, best thing you will ever have."
-Liz about some KFC chicken sandwich she couldn't stop talking about.
Clearly home girl was hungry because we weren't even eating one of them and she just brought it up and kept talking about it for a minute.  I'm not sure what the sandwich is called but she acted like she was in a legit relationship with it so um, if you're into that kind of a thing--call Esther..I mean, Liz, and she'll give you the deats.

"I'm just going to say this...your legs are pink."
-Vicky
Um, thanks?  Like I didn't know that I got a little sunburnt on Saturday? I swear...some people! haha. jk, love you Vicky.  But just putting this out there, people know when they are sunburnt.  No need to point it out or, like some people...poke it.  I'm not kidding.  In my old single's ward in Ontario there was this girl who I never really talked too but she would always come up to me that summer and be like "oh wow, you got sunburnt" or "Are you sunburnt?" and then poke it. It's like, "No. I'm just this color all the time." haha ok. just venting.  But Vicky, I don't blame you for being confused about my already pink undertones mixed in with my light sunburn.  It was a little odd for everyone.

"Is that rude?" -Me
"YES. It is!" -Willy
No need to mention what was being discussed at the time but let's just say it brought on an entire weekend of Nieko and I asking people if they would do something for a million dollars. We are still shocked people said no.  I just wish you could hear the way Willy responded to my question.  He was kind of offended...

Dear Willy,

I love you and and I hope you know it.  Please remember to never take offense to anything that comes out of my mouth.

Sincerely,

Jenn istillthinkyouwoulddoitforamilliondollarsandit'snotabigdeal Hansen

"WHAT?! did you hear that?"
-Nieko about a girl farting.
Ok. so we didn't hear the actual "toot" but are you kidding me?! I've talked about this girl's gas problems before but I just don't know what kind of girl just does that while hanging out and thinks it's nbd?! She's super nice, of course, but it's just one of those shocking moments where you have to ask someone else if you just heard things correctly because it's that bizarre.

"Is it bad that I lead a boring life and love to hear your drama?"
-Savanna
She really doesn't lead a boring life.  Her fiance' is just gone during the weekdays this summer so hearing about it is exciting for her.  It's not bad at all. I mean, I'm pretty dramatic and I usually have good stories.  Sav hasn't met any of the people I really hang out with these days but she's pretty up to date with it all.  Plus, I've realized that anyone who's read my blog probably feels like they know certain "characters" in my life. haha.  Come on.  Girl's gotta have a person outside of the situation to talk to you know?!

"If you're tired, GET OUT!!!"
-Vicky the people on our friend's soccer team
If you know Vicky, you know that she's a loud person (sometimes louder than me, I think!)  so when she yelled this during the game, I was dying.
1.) because it was so loud.
2.) because it was a little rude and
3.) because some of the people around me, took it as a "that's what she said" kind of thing and chuckled to themselves.  hahahaha. But really, this coming from the "SHUTTING DOWN" girl? ha. Honestly though, she's fun to cheer with--She gets into it :)

"hi. What's your name?" -me trying to be nice to the girl sitting by herself watching people play Volleyball at the church.
"Asian." -Asian girl
"Hasian?" -me trying to make a name out of it because I knew that B wasn't really named Asian.  Get real. She was Asian. Who would do that do their kid?
"NO. Asian." -Asian girl
"oh. hi." -me. *insert a "she's WEIRD" face to Nieko and held back laughs between the both of us.
I kid you not.  This really happened.  Come to find out the girl's real name is Jennifer in American and Win (yeah, W-I-N) in Korean.  It's like... just tell me your real name instead of making me feel even more racist for a minute because it took a lot for me to say hi to you to begin with.  oh geez. Was that rude?

I don't care.

Weekend Recap.

Normally I have a ton to say about the weekend.  But, one of my main things from my weekend is a project that Ariana and I worked on Saturday afternoon and since it's not done.. I can't really post about it yet.  Yes, I found it on pinterest.  Yes, there was no tutorial to work from.  Yes, my legs are HECKA sore and feel like I did a billion squats. Yes, it's adorable and I can't wait to hang it up in my apt. And yes--we are purely awesome.

We still have to paint the project so I won’t post the pictures just yet but you should be really excited.  Here's a little sneak peak.  The beginning:

The rest of the weekend was interesting.  We didn’t do a whole lot but we always manage to have fun with whatever we are doing.  On Friday night we went to boondocks and did unlimited go carts, batting cages, and even managed to fit in a game of bowling.  Boondocks is always a fun choice especially now since it’s warming up outside so we don’t have to freeze our buns off doing the outside stuff.

Can I say a couple things about the go carts? 1. Stay away from the Vicky’s of this world while on the track.  Why? You WILL get stuck and the scrawny little guys  who work there WILL have to come and lift you out.  Luckily the kid was able to lift my car without problems.  Smh.  That could have been more embarrassing than it already was.  Even more embarrassing is the fact that ALL of your 10 other friends are passing you laughing… haha. oh and 2.)  If you get turned around on the track.. don’t keep pushing your gas petal.  You might come close to a head on collision with people like liz.  That could have been awful.  [Thanks a lot, RICKY].

Even though it seemed to be a pretty uneventful weekend we still managed to have some interesting conversations, I got punched in the face by nieko (he claims it was an accident but I think it’s really because I told him ‘no’ and wouldn’t do what he wanted me to do.. that was like a first for him..haha), and I realized that 1.) some people can’t keep their mouth shut even if you ask them too, 2.) some people will still always be a planet away from reality, 3.) Sometimes you just have to hang up the phone or change the subject after you've spoken your peace and 4.) sometimes you start crap without thinking... no turning back at that point.

Oh and on Sunday I celebrated Mother's day by going to church, calling my mom and sister and taking to the couch and watching my TV shows.  I was honestly too worn out and sore to do anything else.  Simply stated, it was a fabulous Sunday alone where I meditated and collected my thoughts as well.  I live for days like those :)

I know we're a day late but I just want to wish my Mom a late Happy Mother's Day via the blog.  I'm not sure how she did such a good job raising me and the sibs, but I think we're pretty great so she must have done a lot right :).  I love her so much.   Not many people can say that their mom is also one of their best friends... But I'm totally one of those people.  Love you mom!

Cake, men, and a Virtual B slap.

I love cake. Especially cupcakes.  There's just something about having your own mini cake that is yours to enjoy alone.  They are super cute, come in different sizes, flavors, and have the cute little wrappers that gives it a special touch.  Cake is sinful, sometimes you want more than one but deep down you know that is bad for you.  I think it's also safe to say that each cake lover has that one kind that is their weakness.  The "cant get enough of it" kind of thing. Like me and red velvet cake; I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Kind of like men. haha

I love men.  Like cupcakes, they come in different sizes, types [flavors] and the ones that dress really nice just puts the icing on top of a beautiful man. My weakness--bad boys. smh.  It's unfortunate, really.

Cake...men....both delicious, some are really pretty to look at, and they both make me drool on occasion.

Want the comparison to continue followed by a totally intended virtual B slap that initiated the cake post? ok, follow me!

Here's the thing about cake: too much of it is not good for you.  And, let's be honest, on occasion we have moments where we think "Meh, cake is cake."

Baked by Melissa Cupcakes.  Had them in NYC. Mmm... mouth.drooling.

Still, the comparison to men works.  But most of the time, you should be picky!  Don't let anyone tell you different.  It's your cupcake so you should get one that you will really enjoy.

OK.. on to the point.  Aren't these little gems ^^ just pretty to look at?  I mean, all of them.  When we got these cupcakes in NYC last fall I couldn't get over how cute they were.  At that moment I understood exactly what it meant to really want to "Have your cake and eat it too."  I literally wanted to keep some of them because they were so cute but my mouth was drooling to eat them knowing how delicious they really were.

I've been thinking about this idea lot this week with some crap that's been going on lately.  In life there are some people who really want to "have their cake and eat it too" especially when it comes to their relationships.  So what does that mean?  I mean, if you dangle cake in front of my face you better be dang sure that I'm going to want to eat it.  Doesn't mean that I will actually eat it but a part of me usually wants too. [ But HELLO--It's called control. ] But I know that if I eat my cake that I can't HAVE it as well.  I mean, my belly has it for a bit and some of it might stick to my thigh's and rear end but I don't really still have possession of it.  I've eaten it and that's it.

This phrase is referring to just that--people who want the best of both worlds. To have it and to eat it.  For example, this would be people who want all the benefits of being in a relationship so they hold on to one when they get it but at the same time wants to live the "single life" or still date around but doesn't really let the other person know where they really stand.

Earth to you people--It doesn't freaking work that way.  Don't you know you can't have the best of both world's when it comes to relationships while still remaining honest to yourself and the other person in the relationship?
Gah.  grow up.

All I have to say is whatever you are doing, just be open and honest about it.  Don't lie to people.  It's hurtful and it's rude.  Tell the truth! On the other side, If you are just feeling a little crazy and you want to go try a lot of cakes this summer then just do it. nbd.  Cake is good...Just be careful:)

ummm Cupcake run anyone?! really.  that red velvet is calling my name.
