Wednesday

"Who's deodorant did you use then?" -Jamie to Regan on they day they left for their trip
"I think I used your dad's..." -Regan
This was so funny to me.  First of all, who packs away their deodorant before they use it? Also, I feel like I wouldn't use any before I used my "grandpas." Just saying.  Not that my dad is gross, I just wouldn't even think to use a dudes deodorant.  Leave it to Regan. haha

"I was like 'no, I don't want to swallow your tongue for the next 10 minutes.  No Thank you.'...  I could still smell his bad breath on my upper lip after I got home."
-Victoria
BAHAHAHAHA. Skyping with Vicky in Australia is always a good time.  Her story about this Tongan kid and his kissing and horrid breath was seriously my favorite thing.  It was one of those horrible kissing stories that you love to hear because it's so freaking funny but you're just so grateful that it's never been that bad for you. Because it's like, what do you do in that moment? HAHA. You pictured it right? omg. hilarious.

"Trouble, Trouble."
-Mason
Mason is so funny and he's talking more and more everyday.  He even picks up on songs now so when they were here this last weekend I got to witness it.  He randomly sings the "Trouble, trouble" part of Taylor Swifts song often.  He even does the "DO, do, dodo, do do do dodo do," part from one of the songs on Pitch perfect...and he does it's perfectly, I might add.  It's probably not a movie that little babies should be watching it but he loves the music. So funny.

Not as funny as the times when he would wake up in the morning and run out to the living room where I was camping out on the floor and he would run to the couch and Memaw would turn over and say "Hi Mason" and he'd be like "NOOO, Auntie?" You know I loved that the most.  He loves me because I'm fun and I love that.  Thanks to him I also had the sorest arms all weekend because he just wanted me to hold him all the time.  Presh.

"I can't understand if he's saying Kiersten or Chicken."
-Regan about Mason
At first Mason wouldn't say Kier's name but now he really says it.  Like one morning she wasn't there yet and he was asking for her.  Super cute.  Sometimes it does sound like chicken but when it's that early in the morning, I don't think the child is thinking about chicken.  Idk. I could be wrong.

But it's cute.

"Life's a mystery and the rest is unknown."
-A new guy at work that I've been avoiding because he talks in quotes.
Maybe this quote blows some of your minds.. It mostly just makes me roll me eyes.  This guy and work really is the cheesiest most annoying man.  Yes, I understand that I work for a company that specialize in being a better person/employer/employee/teammate but that doesn't mean that you have to be a walking inspirational quote board.  It's weird.  And this mystery quote? He said it to me after I told him I didn't know why his stuff wasn't printing to the printer.  It's like, "no, it's not a mystery... you didn't push the print button."

people.

"He's not even good."
-Kier about the cutest 4 year old on SYTYCD (That stands for "So You Think You Can Dance" for all nubes:))
Kier has been sick lately so I've been drinking my weight in orange juice which I love but hate how many calories that is (besides the point) Anyways, she was a little negative last night.   But it was the funny kind of negative.  Like there was the cutest little black boy that came on to SYTYCD and was doing this hip hop routine.  Everyone was cheering for him.. I mean, he was 4.  This ^ was Kier's first response.  Haha.  She kept with it too.

It's not like the kid was trying out, he was just being cute.  And they sent him to Disney world because he was so small and cute and a funny little dancer.  Kier was so disappointed   She expected him to the like Twitch or something.

hahaha. Speaking of kids.. I can't wait for her and Cole to have kids sometime down the road.  I will teach them great things.

"I'm not sniffing anything that came out of your pocket."
-Cole to Kier about not wanting to sniff her pills
I'm not sure why she had a random pill just in her pocket but she was kind of out of it last night.  I don't blame her because she's sick or whatever.. But apparently her pill smelled like "shiz."  Cole was not having it.  But really, who wants to smell anything that is fresh out of one's pocket? It's weird.

My life right now according to everyone else.

When my younger brother (by two years) got engaged a couple of weeks ago I didn't even think about all the comments that would eventually come my way.  Like any normal human being I was just happy for them and it wasn't about me at all. I think it's safe to say that I've pretty much heard it all, though.

While I find it annoying, I mostly think it's funny that people pretend to care.  I know they love it.  People love when they think that others have it worse off than they do, that's just what we do.  The married ones like to rub it in, the betrothed ones act like their wedding is the event of the year--the only thing that matters, and the single ones act like they "totally know how I 'feel'" before I even say anything about my feelings. It's like "how do I feel? Someone, please tell me."  It's comical.

I guess I will address a couple of these questions now.  If you're my age and not married and ESPECIALLY if you are LDS and live in Idaho or Utah, then you most likely know what I'm talking about.  I will call this the  "If you're not married then you must be really sad" segment.

Here is my favorite one I've been asked since Cole got engaged:

"So...What are you going to do now?" (Aka: "wow, you're going to be alone and a loser.  I sort of feel bad for you. Do you have plans for how you're going to deal wit it?")

Yes, I do actually.  They aren't solid plans since I still have a lease at my apartment complex until the end of October. However, I plan on moving when the lease is up!  I'll still be in Utah, but I'm thinking about moving closer to work.  Not particularly SLC, and especially not West Valley, you know, since I value my life and safety.  But just closer.  Maybe Bountiful or Centerville or something.  I'm really not sure yet.  I still have a couple of months before I can look at apartments and stuff but that is what I'm thinking.  I think it will just be a good time to switch wards, (TRY to) meet some new people..that sort of thing.  It's time. Mom doesn't want me to "be alone" but I've assured her that I will be fine.   I've lived by myself before.  And who knows?  Maybe something will come up before then with a roommate or something.  I'm not sure.

While I'm nervous about all the changes that are coming, I'm mostly excited for something new.  I think it will be great!  I also feel like I could never be a loser, so I really don't like when people ask me questions and make me feel like I'm being left behind or that I'm a loser. It's like clearly you don't know me. If you did, you would know how good this is going to be for me.  I guess only my closest and friends and family understand that one.

Tip 1-Don't act like you know someone and what they are feeling when you really don't.  Easy peasey.

"That means you're next!" (AKA:  "In case you didn't know, you're old and you're totally the last one in your family to get married. #Suckstosuck"  OR "I'm just really trying to be nice because I feel bad for you that you're last.")

Umm, of course that means "I'm next."  There is literally no one else left out of us three kids after Cole gets married.  So thanks, genius, for pointing that one out like I even care.  As if.  I even had someone say that to me at church.  To which I always want to quote Baby Mama, "B, you don't know my life!"

But I don't.

But I do love the people who you can just tell that they feel bad for you because they know that it would bother them if they were 25 and still not married or because they are your age or older and they are depressed about that very thing.  You know the ones I'm talking about, right? Where you can see it in their eyes that they are like "oh, I hope she's ok" and they just picture me taking to my bed and eating only licorice and cupcakes all day long (sounds like a dream) but then they just give you this bull crap line about how they REALLY see it coming for you next.  Girls are the worst at that.  We Most lie.  We tell people the things they want to hear just to make each other feel better.

So thank you, girls.  Thank you for KNOWING that I'm going to be next and for assuming that it's the only thing that I care about because it's the only thing you care about it.  Thank you for understanding me.

Three cheers for sarcasm.

It's funny really.  People are funny.  If you are close to me then then you know that yes, I would love to be in love and someday get married.  BUT, it's not all that I think about.  And you shouldn't either.  If you are one who has let your relationship status (married or not) define you, then I feel bad for you.  Marriage is a wonderful thing, I really do believe that.  And I'm so happy for people who make it work and how are in love and happy, it's great.  But don't assume that people are depressed if they aren't married.  I am not.  Either should you!

Whatever happened to enjoying life and trying to do your best to align your life with God's plan, choosing the right, and just doing the best we can and just being happy?!

really.

That's what I'm doing...and I feel good about that right now :)

Oh, but one thing I don't feel good about is this statistic I saw online the other day:

Marriages by Education LevelPercent of Marriages
No High School Diploma28 %
High School Diploma or GED26 %
Some College21 %
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher11 %

hahhahahaha Why didn't someone tell me that I was pretty much extra cursed if I finished my bachelor's degree before getting married?  eek.

So, to all my graduated unmarried friends..Good luck! "May the odds be ever in your  (Our) favor."

HA.

A really good day.

I had a day this week that I can honestly describe as one of those "perfect" days.  I woke up at 5:30 to go for a little jog.  While I was out I said hello to the few crazy people who were also doing what I was doing.  I was actually happy to be up and going!  It was light outside but cloudy at the same time and a perfect 60-some degrees;  It was beautiful.  That morning I even had time to listen to a conference talk while getting ready for work, read my scriptures AND watch part of a TV show while actually sitting down and eating cereal.  It was a miracle, really.  The rest of the day seemed to follow suit.  I was calm about things that happened at work, I ate my usual salad for lunch that for the first time in long time didn't feel "blah."  It was weird.  THEN to top it off, on the way home it was the weather that's somewhere between a storm and a warm summer afternoon.  My favorite kind of "feel good" weather. I rolled the windows half way down all the way home, even after it started raining just a bit.  No rain got in the car but the cool breeze, the calming rain drops and the smell of rain just made me happy.

It sounds super corny and honestly, nothing HUGE happened on that day, it was just a good day.  A peaceful day.  This doesn't happen very often but I've realized that it really is one of those things that we have control over most of the time.  Nothing bad was happening and I was just grateful all day long for just being alive. It was really all in my mind.  I found the good in things and for that day, life was just good.

It's frustrating to me that I can't get myself to always be that way.  I just feel like things come up sometimes and we just let them ruin our day or we get so caught up in it that we just become this hot mess for no reason.  I mean, do those things REALLY matter?  Probably not.

This morning I was thinking about the things that have bugged me this week that I've wasted time being worked up about and how all of these things don't really have to be a huge deal, but how we sometimes get ourselves into things that get in the way of us having those "perfect" feel-good kind of days.  Let me just list them to let you know how ridiculous I can get:

1.) I actually got heated up for an entire day about a comment someone posted on my Mom's "Abercrombie, Ugly CEO dude" facebook post.  It was so stupid, yet, I let someone who doesn't even matter get under my skin with his ignorance.  I hate when people do that, yet I couldn't let this one go.  Telling me that people who aren't a size 10 are lazy and have lower standards than the CEO of Abercrombie? Um, I don't think so.  I came back at him real quick just to tell the dude he was ridiculous and telling my mom publicly on Facebook that she should delete him from her "friends."  It's whatever.  Low standards?  get real.

I only said the one comment and then I made mom delete it off her wall because I was SO heated up about it that I couldn't stop thinking about it.  I don't do that usually, so I was frustrating myself all day.  I could have had a perfect day that day but I chose to pick a stupid battle that made my blood boil all day long.  Dumb me.

2.) I know these people who are 100% wrong for each other.  Everyone knows it.  They even know it.  Yet they choose to continue to be in a relationship.  It's hard to sit and watch people be so....pathetic?  That sounds harsh and I don't if that's the right word but that's all I can come up with right now.  I would have loved it if things would have worked out for them in the beginning, because I love when people find love and are happy.  It's cute. But it didn't in this case and they continue to try to make it work while making their fights and weekly breakups public.  I honestly believe that you can not have a successful relationship when you are TRYING to make things work within just a few short months of being together.  It's hard because I really do like both of them.  My frustration is that if everyone including yourself knows that you need to end something (anything really)  but then you continue to stay in it even though you know it's not right? It's sad.  I'm not going to set aside the fact that sometimes there are things going on that make it hard to end things with someone that people on the outside might not know or understand, HOWEVER, there is always a way out if you aren't happy and there are always people who love you and will help you if you need it. IF you are willing to listen and be brave.

This whole thing has been a topic of conversation for a while now. Yes, I know it shouldn't be but come at me when you can tell me that you don't occasionally get caught up in your friends' lives.

3.) OK, ow many times do you (personally) have to catch someone lying before you find it hard to ever trust them again and categorize them as a general liar?  For me it's 3 times. That's it. Do I still get ticked and talk about them and how frustrated I am with them after the first and second time? Absolutely.  But for me, it's after the third time that I'm like "she's a liar."  It is what it is.

I also had a few times this week where I got so frustrated about someone I care about being a liar.  Because if there is one thing I CAN'T stand in this world, it's a liar.  I just don't get it.

....

I realized that I got so caught up in these stupid things that really don't matter, when I could have chosen to address the situations, talk about it real quick (because that's unavoidable. I mean, really) but chosen to not make it control my attitude..  I've faced the fact that I'm the kind of person who gets fully invested in people's lives.  It's my gift and curse.

But that "perfect, really good day" I had this week really made me stop and think about all the negativity that we get involved in everyday.  I realized that most of the time, I'm complaining.  People on Facebook and Twitter, most of the time are posting quotes about crap to make people think they are cooler than they really are or, they are complaining.  Most of the time, I'd say it's complaining.  I do it too.  And while, I enjoy hearing complaints sometimes (it makes me feel blessed that my life is going pretty "ok") those negative things going on can really bring you down if you let it.  If you don't let it then it's usually pretty entertaining. haha.  So I see both sides.

Thank goodness for Instagram, though.  All the selfies and people posting all those positive quotes and all those fun things they are doing and they cute babies they are having really brightens up my day too. Haha.  Ok, that sounded negative.  I actually do love all those things. Instagram makes me happy.  Except the excessive selfies.  They make me want to bunch baby things (and I love baby things.)

I just really need to work on having at least 2 of those really good, perfect kind of days a week. That shouldn't be too hard  I can't control the weather, which I know can really can make a difference in your day, but I can start doing a better job about not caring so much about all the negative things and stupid decisions other people make when they have no direct effect on my life.  It's hard, trust me.. from one Facebook/Twitter die hard to another, I get it.  But I really think that If we focus on the positive things, it can make a huge difference.

Crap will happen, it always does.  And I can promise that you will have some really hellish days surrounded by people that you want to punch in the face.. twice just to be sure they got the point. But you should try to consciously make at least one day (aside from Sundays, because they are the bomb already) a perfect, really good, fantastic day :)  That's doable.

OR, you can at least try to help make someone else's day.  Like, yesterday I got the nicest card in the mail from my FHE sister from College, Cathy.  I haven't seen her since BYU-I but we read each other's blog and got closer just through that and facebook.  She just told me about how much she loved reading my blog, gave me the sweetest compliment and wished me a great summer.  It made my day.  Thanks Cathy!!

Happy Weekend :)

Wednesday Quotes and a story about Kier's "sleepy time"

"I literally have no clue who you're talking about."
-Kier about JaRule
We we talking about good news that day and I mentioned that JaRule finally got out of jail.  Naturally, I was excited about it.  Anyone my age grew up on all things JaRule and Nelly.  That's just how it was.  When Kier told me she didn't know who he was I couldn't even fathom it.  Sure, she's 4 and a half years younger than me but geez. I started singing, "WHAT WOULD I BE WITHOUT my BAY-BAY? THE THOUGHT ALONE might BREAK ME..."

Still, nothing.
I've been singing JaRule all week. All illegal gun possession aside, the dude deserves the cred.  Awe, that voice. It's that deep sexy voice.  You know? Like the Vin Diesel of early 2000 hip hop dudes.

Yes, I went there.

"You are a tall drink of water."
-Ms. X at work about the new sales dude
FC got a couple of new temp sales dudes to help promote a new product we are launching.  They didn't have any space for them anywhere else so they were placed in a couple of empty cubes next to mine.  I instantly noticed that two of them were younger and not bad looking.  It's hard not to notice since most of the people in my area are women or older married dudes.  Well, remember Ms. X, the annoying girl who sits literally 20 feet away from me and I've only said like 10 words to her in the 3 years that I've worked here but I still know her life because she talks so loud?  Yeah, her.  Well, she's boy crazy.  Like, I'm talking almost 40 years old, not married and always talks about all her dates and online dating.. anyways.  This girl never makes an effort to talk to anyone new. BUT, these two new guys move in and in the first 3 days she made sure she walked by their/my desk and ALWAYS says "hi Boys." haha. get Real.  This kid asked where the drinking fountain was and it turned into this flirting sesh about him being a "tall drink of water." Sure, he's tall, but I still don't get that saying.  It's weird.  You know that I loved sitting back and listening to that though.  It was like "gag me with a spoon" stuff.  I loved it.

"WTF...What the EFF would she..."
-Woman in her 60's talking on the phone.
I just have this thing where I cringe when grandmas say things like "WTF" and "EFF."  I don't know, maybe I'll be one of those grandma's someday. ew. yeah, I don't like it.  But good for her?

"COPS!!!"
-Willy
On Friday we decided to be random.   At one point the boys ended up walking around an area that we probably shouldn't have been.  We weren't doing anything bad, but still.  As Willy and Nieko were walking back, Kier and I could see them and we waited for them to get to us.  Apparently Willy yelled "Cops" and Nieko instantly turned around and started booking it.  Kier and I didn't know what was going on, we thought they were just being rude.  Turns out there weren't any cops, but even if there were, we would have been left for dead because we didn't know what was going on.  Nieko seriously booked it.  Like at least yell it louder so we have a change of hiding or getting away too, you know?  hahaha..

Actually, guaranteed we wouldn't have been able to get away and I would just have to make up a story.  It's whatever.
#truefriends

"Do you know how many pictures there are on Goog of cats in Sombreros?  I don't get it? Why?"
-me talking to Jaym
"Because only Mexicans like cats.  They breed them."
*insert hard laugh from me*
And don't you quote me on that because it's racist."
-Jamie
hahahahahhaha. Sorry, Jamie.  Honestly, no one is going to think you are racist.  Besides, all they would have to do it jump on Google images to see how many people put their cat in a Sombrero.  It's a lot. Most of them are surrounded by bottles of liquor too, which I think is hilarious.  But then I remember it's a cat and I'm like, "ew."  But hahaha.  So according to Jamie only Mexican like cats.  Not true.  But we'll go with it.  Maybe Kiersten already knew that and that is why she chose to have a "Feline Fiesta" for her birthday at the end of the month.  It's all making sense now.

"I bet he was salivating at the mouth."
-Just someone
Ummm, I really want to know where else one can salivate that would make it necessary to point out that the dude would be salivating "at the mouth."  Am I missing something?  seriously. Sick.

"I don't know how to take care of you because you're acting like a drunk person but you're not drunk."
-Nieko
I think the highlight of the weekend was finding out that Kiersten is basically like a drunk person when she's sleep deprived.  No, I'm not being dramatic and yes, it did scare us a little.  Mostly we just got a huge laugh out of it.  Nieko and I stayed up until  3 am listening to Kier go on and on about random things.  It was like she was awake but wasn't.  It's was also like she was hammered drunk.  Which, she also wasn't.  Weirdest/funniest thing ever.

Nieko ended up pulling some saltines out of my pantry and I got her a glass of water.  We even watched her drive away just to be sure. Honestly, I've done that for real drunk people but never a sober person. hahahhaha. Funniest thing.

"Zooey Deschanel's bangs, construction workers in yellow vests, turtles, plumbers, copy right signs everywhere.  Want to know what else I'm thinking about?...'
-Sleep talking/not so drunk Kier

She went on for a long time about things she was "thinking"/"dreaming" about.  I couldn't even write them all down because it was just one thing after another.  Nieko and I especially loved her story about how she "seriously just wants Zooey Deschanel's bangs and how she was riding a bike in a red skirt."  Yeah, I don't even know.

"Wait for me to come out before you talk about me."
-Kier after we forced her to get up and go home.
I have to give her props though.  Even while "out of it," she still knows how Nieko and I work.  ha.

"Wow, you're the cleanest eater ever." -Cole
"Thanks!" -Kier
"Look at your crotch." -Cole
There was legit hamburger juice right on the crotch of her dress.  To make it 10 times better, Cole also spotted a dollop of ketchup on her leg.  Not even kidding.  The girl spills everything.  One time she got a stain on her shirt from eating one single junior mint.  It's equal parts comical and tragic.

"What a nightmare. yeah, I beat you to it."
-Jamie
She always tells me that I think everything is a nightmare.  She's right.  I do say that a lot and realize that I need to limit the use.  I need to come up with another word that is equally over the top and dramatic.. hmm.. I'll have to think about that one.

Update.

Yesterday Cole and I decided to come home a little early from church so we could have a Mother's Day BBQ with Kiersten before she had to be to work. As we were getting ready (AKA: while Cole was working the BBQ and Kier and I were indulging in a few hand dipped white chocolate covered cinnamon bears) Kier told me that earlier she was reading my blog because she was wondering what I was doing last year at this time.  It's not a secret that I used to blog a lot more than I do now.  In fact, I used to post stuff on Facebook a lot more back then too.  I don't as much now.  It's whatever.

I told her that it's because things aren't as exciting as they used to be, but that's not really true.  I'm sure I could come up with lots to say now but I just sometimes forget.  That, and I get a little tired of hearing myself talk about the same things too many times.  But really, I'm glad that I write stuff down in the long run.  We were CRACKING up about some of the posts from this time a year a go and I was able to remember some things that I probably would have forgotten about otherwise.  So much changes in a year!  I know I say that all the time, but it really does.  Like, this time last year, I was still watching Real Housewives, lived in my old apartment on Main street (Kiddie corner to Mexico), was living by myself while Cole was in Canada and I still had certain friends around.  A lot has changed. But I feel good about it.

Here's a little update:

Jamie, Regan and Mason are in their last week of living with Mom and Dad before they start their trek across the country to their new home in Maryland.  I can't believe that the time came so quickly.  I don't want them to leave, but I know that everything will be OK. I'm mostly excited that they are going to make a stop here on their way out and spent the short weekend with us.  I'm super sad that they are leaving BUT i'm glad that I'm going to be able to see them over the 4th of July when I make my first trip to DC.  Also, they will be here in September for Cole's wedding so I'm not complaining about that.  I'm currently working on coming up with plans to make them come more often over the next couple of years.  So basically, I need to get married and there needs to be babies or something.  Everyone visits when there is a baby involved.

Cole and Kier are starting in on their wedding plans.  It's a good thing I love weddings and events because I really don't mind them talking about stuff.  I'm super excited for them! However Kier may or may not have told me she's already over the planning part while she was sleep talking to Nieko and I this weekend.  haha.  Really, I know she's excited about the wedding but I think there's just something about when it comes down to planning your own wedding.  It's stressful, I get that.  So I'm going to do my best to help as much as I can :) It's going to be a busy summer, I'm sure.  Bring it on!

I've been ignoring the fact that there are some things I really need to do lately.  I'm just working on finding that motivation in myself to do it.  I made some good steps last week though.  We don't need to talk about them yet, just send some good energy my way if you can:)

I just really can't complain about anything right now.  I'm just trying to focus on having a good summer before all sorts of changes come.  Oh, and enjoying this super nice weather that all of a sudden popped up.  Apparently it's supposed to be in the 80's all week and I'm all about that.  I did finally give in and turn on my AC, which I don't love.  Bills.  It's whatever.

Oh, and I have something to say to the people who don't feel like they deserve a good life, or good relationships...You're wrong.  Remember you who you are and make good things happen for yourself.  Start right now.  Kindly and carefully remove toxic people and things out of your life.  You don't need them.  I'm pretty sure we can all think of one thing we can get rid of this week that will make a difference in our life.  For some it might be a huge step and for others it might just be small.. but it's a step.  Make it!

Here's to doing something good this week and to getting crap done.
Have a GREAT week!
Muah :)

Wednesday.

"What is YOLO?"
-Wendy
She really didn't know what Yolo meant.  I had some fun with that one.

"Yeah, I hate public restrooms."
-Nieko and I after talking about why we hate them for about 10 minutes
Let's get real for a minute. Public restrooms are so gross.  Obviously, I'm grateful for them but still.  I thought I had some of the worst experiences with them because 1.) I hate when people can hear me pee 2.) I REALLY hate/don't know what to do when I hear someone else going to the bathroom especially when it's not just pee and 3.) Public bathroom etiquette is so...not talked about.  Like, "just don't talk to me while I'm peeing, ok? it gives me stage fright."

But I never really thought about how much worse boys have it.  According to Nieko, "at least we get our own personal space."  It's true. Boys don't get their personal space.  This convo went on to--Is it weird for boys to go and just pee in one of the stalls?  Apparently it is.  And let's not forget about the dude who always ignores the "never take the middle urinal" rule or the guy who talks to you at the urinal or even the guy who stares.  ugh. sick.

So when it comes to public restrooms, I'm sure glad I'm not a dude.  I'll take the occasional creepy lady peeking through the ridiculously large cracks in the stall than peeing standing up next to a stranger any day!

 The end.

"What if I really need one and need to see if a body will fit in it?"
-Amanda about those storage boxes that go in the bed of a truck
This is one of those late night walmart things.  We were buying stuff but of course someone convinced Amanda to get into the large box.  A worker proceeded to tell us that "this is a business!"  hahaha.  I quickly told everyone to get what they needed and Amanda and I ran off laughing.  embarrassing.  But really, what if she really needed to see if a body would fit in there before buying it? I mean, it's creepy but still!

"I sat by myself at a Drive in once and still talked."
-Nieko talking about how he can't concentrate at the Drive-in
Note--If you want to actually watch a movie at the Drive in don't get in the same vehicle as Nieko.  hahaha.

"WHOOP.  A bummmmm crack!"
-Kier as she points to a "Despicable Me" movie poster
"Excuse my friend." -Me to a girl who was staring.
"...ha. That's awesome." -girl
Leave it to Kier to point out an animated crack in front of everyone at the theater. The best part was that she wasn't really meaning to point it out to everyone.  I think it was more like one of those times when you think something in your head and say it out loud without thinking about it and then you just go with it.

"I CAN'T EVEN HANDLE MY LIFE RIGHT NOW!"
-Kier with her hands in the air as she walked in the door minutes after getting engaged
This was basically her the rest of the day, she was so excited! I don't blame her.  Diamonds, life changing, a cute boy, diamonds..HAPPY DAY :)

"I love Jim Carey.  Have you heard of Jim Carey?  Like, he's in 'Liar, Liar'...and he's all" -Kid in his TESTIMONY over the pulpit.
No joke. but WAIT, it gets better.  He then directly quoted a part of the movie and does his sounds..just so you can get an idea of it watch this from 32 seconds to 1:03.

hahahahahahahhahaah I'm not freaking kidding you at all.  The only thing he didn't do from that 30 some second clip was the thing with his teeth.  Actually, he could have done it.  I wouldn't know because I was so embarrassed that my head was buried into the pew in front of me.  And that my friends, is NOT an exaggeration.  I think the best part of his ramblings was after he did the Liar Liar quote, he immediately said, "No laughs? That's OK." then I felt even worse and let out a laugh.  It was bad, you guys.  It was so bad.

"Did you see the picture (so and so) posted?....*whisper* They scare me."
-Cole
Is it bad that sometimes babies and little kids scare us?  Actually, no.  I'm answering that question.  I don't think it's bad.  Sometimes people post pictures and think they are really cute when in reality, they aren't.  I'd like to add excessive selfies of teens and adults to this as well.  Please, do us a favor and limit the use of both, will ya?  The last thing I want blowing up my Instagram are things that annoy me and literally give me nightmares.  Please and thank you.

Also, why are things intensified when we whisper them?  Weird, right?

"Guys are weird.  They only go for hot messes."
-Wendy
We had an entire conversation about how  most a lot of guys really just love the more than average (hot) looking girls who have the most dramatic lives and crazy things going on in their lives.  I'm not an expert on the topic, but I've had a LOT of guy friends who've gone through this.  The girl is usually bat shiz crazy but because she's hot, they keep coming back for more.  I'm thinking it's because they feel like they can help her.  Maybe it makes them feel more manly and needed?  I don't know.  I'm not a dude.  But Wendy was telling me all about this hot (older) woman who her friend can't seem to just get over.  You guys, she was one of those "Massage with happy ending" kind of ladies.  No joke.  I know that example is kind of extreme but that's what got us on the topic.  So moral of the story is that if you're hot and overly dramatic, boys will be lining up at your door.  I better work on that first part. hahah jk  Or maybe I'll just look into that  "massage therapy" school.  jk. That's sick.

So if Hell ever freezes over and guys start only going for average girls with faux dramatic lives--WATCH out,  world because Imma be a dude magnet. *Snap* ;)

Of Marriages and Celebrations!

Today my parents are celebrating their 30 year wedding anniversary.  I can't believe it. I haven't even been alive 30 years!  I may be close to it, but no one else is counting besides me, right?

When I think about spending my entire lifetime up to this point, plus 5 years, with just one person, my mind can't really seem to grasp it. Not that I wouldn't love it or that I couldn't do it, it's just weird to think about.  30 years is a really long time! There are reasons why I'm happy my parents met and have stayed together all this time. Of course, I'm happy they gave birth to me.  I mean, I think I'm pretty cool and my parents think I'm awesome.  So there's that.  Oh, and of course without "them" as a couple there wouldn't be a Jamie Lyn or Coleman Wade.  They liked to pick on me a lot growing up but I can honestly say that my life would be dull (at best) without them in it. So I guess I'm saying that I'm just glad I wasn't the only child.  I'll take middle child over that any day.

So if three super cool, awesome, fantastic, extraordinary kids with just a few flaws (haha) was all that came out of this 30 year marriage, then I would say it was 100% worth it.  But that's not all that's come out it.  You know, growing up I never really realized how important marriage was.  I mean, I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to find a man who 1) held the priesthood, 2)had a good job, and 3) would be able to take me to the temple.  That was about the gist of it.  I didn't know why marriage and all of those things were important.  I just knew that is what you did, and I thought about it a lot growing up.

Through college and the last few years people would ask me if I'm dating someone or if I ever wanted to get married and I will be honest and say that I really believed that I wouldn't.  I say "believed" because I don't really think that way too much anymore.. It's totally something that I want for my future at some point if the right opportunity comes along.  But back then I was just always fine with it--the single part of life. I would tell people I really didn't care if I ever got married.  Why? I couldn't handle hearing about people fighting, getting divorced, the cheating, ect.  It made me sick.  I just couldn't even imagine getting myself into a situation where one of those things could maybe happen to me. To love someone so much and eventually have things turn to crap. The thought makes me shiver.  I get heart broken over Grey's Anatomy for crying out loud.  Not OK.

I'm realizing more and more lately about the blessings that come with marriage and families, especially as I've watched my parents.  My family and my parents aren't the PERFECT example of how it should be  (who is though, really? )  But I look up to them so much.  We're pretty great.  So in honor of my parents 30th anniversary and in celebrating Cole and Kier's engagement this weekend (yep, it happened.  I'm officially the last one in my family and am one cousin on the Hansen side away from being the LAST grandkid to get married out of the 28-30 some grandkids.  It's not AS bad as it seems, really. I'm like 5th from the last in age anyways.. but still. It's whatever)... But back to the point.  In honor of all the love and happiness going around, I wanted to post 30 things I've learned from my parent's about marriage and being a parent/ and how to be a good person in general, really.  Not all of them came from good things of course, but in observing them for my 25 years of life, I've learned so much from them.  They really are the greatest.

1.) Always kiss your wife/husband goodbye.  Dad would always kiss mom goodbye before leaving for work.  This was always so comforting to me.
2.) Always say "I love you."  I think this is one thing that makes our family so close.. We always say we love each other...Everyday.  Even Cole and I do that with each other when it's just him and I at the apartment.  Mom and Dad taught us to love and that is one of the most important things I've learned from them, I feel.
3.) Things are rarely easy. Some days are just sucky. Learn to deal with it and change it!
4.) Everything eventually works out as long as you have faith and keep on trying.
5.) Being married is hard.
6.) You'll sometimes fight, maybe more than you'd ever imagine, but you always keep on going.
7.) Go to church.
8.) Pray. Personal, family, ect.
9.) Always have a prayer in your heart.
10.) Money can ruin you.  Don't let it.
11.) Don't hide things from your spouse. Open communication is KEY.
12.) Always be willing to help other people, especially your spouse.
13.) Sincerely be interested in the passion's and hobby of your spouse/children
14.) Don't put down anyone.  If you do, be quick to realize what you've done and apologize.
15.) Give frequent (sincere) compliments.
16) Be open and honest to talk about even the things that scare you the most.
17) Date each other after you're married.  Don't let yourself forget that you're "in love". Especially when you become a parent. Take care of your marriage/relationship.
18.) Faithfully pay your tithing.
19.) Don't be so serious all the time.  Be goofy sometimes!
20.) Be kind to each other  and others you're around.  Don't forget that you're also married to your friend....so be the best friend you can be.
21.) Sometimes you'll be asked to do things or go places you don't want to go because it's your spouses passion/love... Be actively interested.
22.) Help each other.  You can't expect just one person to be the clean, cook, ect...so just help.  You'll get stuff done faster if you do it that way.  Recognize when people go the extra mile.
23.) Have fun!
24.) Yelling is never the answer.  Take a second to breathe and then talk about things like an adult.
25.) Always include the Lord in your decisions.
26.) Use ear plug if needed. (haha, snoring.  smh. The worst.)
27.) Be kind and stand up for yourself if you feel like you're being controlled.
28.) You can't take material things with you, so stop caring as much about them or what people think.
29.) Be understanding.  There are some things people go through that are out of their control.  Be patient.
30.) Above all, be grateful for what you have and all of your blessings. Count your blessings daily.

I know that 30 years ago my parents got married and didn't know where their lives would go or what was in store for them.  I'm sure they had different plans and different dreams.  Life hasn't been the easiest for them or our family, BUT we are one of the luckiest families in the world.  Heavenly Father knew we needed each other, even especially Mason (the newest member of our family) and even the other members of our family that are waiting to come to earth! Heck, he also knew our family needed Kiersten. So we're happy to be having her as another piece of to our family puzzle.  It's crazy to think about!

It really makes you stop and think about how important it is to make good choices, to never give up, and to stay strong to your beliefs and your faith and to follow the spirit, because whether you like it or not, you aren't just effecting your own life when you make choices....

I'm just so happy that my parents have made the choices they did.  I'm grateful to their parents who raised them in the church which pointed them in the direction to go on a mission where they met in England over 30 years ago.  I'm grateful they found each other again at a multi stake/single adult dance after their missions and for (shortly) later getting sealed in the Logan temple where Kier and Cole plan to get sealed at the end of the summer.  I'm thankful they love each other and love us so much and I'm grateful that they haven't given up over all the years even when giving up seemed like an "easy escape."  They really are the hardest workers and most loving people I know.

I might not be married yet but I'm surrounded by so many people and relationships that give me hope and make me excited for what could maybe come later on.

Until then,
Here's to another 30 years, M&D :)
Thanks for finding each other.  Thanks for having me. Thanks for helping me realize how important and sacred Marriage is.
I Love you more than you know!

Oh, and please hold the "You're next" or "You're the last one" comment for someone who cares or thinks it's funny and not annoying. OK?  ;)

Wednesday with a splash of Real Talk

Last weekend I was able to take a day off and trek home to Idaho.  I really just needed to get away for a bit.  At first I wasn't going to go because I really loathe that drive by myself but when I called my dad sad about the fact that I wasn't coming home, he just said, "If you want to do something, do it." Wise man.

So I did.  Since Jamie and her family are moving in DC/Maryland in a few weeks I've just been really sad and upset about it.  I don't want them to go.  Yes, I'm grateful that we have the technology that we do to be able to call and FaceTime them whenever we want but it still sucks. You want to know the main truth of it? I just cry thinking about Mason getting big and me only seeing him 3 times a year if I'm lucky.  I know Jamie probably thinks that we don't love her as much as we love Mason, and that's not true at all.  My sister is one of my bestest friends and we've built a great relationship over the past years talking daily on the phone.  That will continue even with a two hour time difference and a bajillion miles between us.  It will be fine. But there's just something about that Mason boy.  You know how much I love him because I talk about him all the time.  So excuse me if I'm a little heartbroken lately. BUT, even though it's sad, I know it's going to be OK.  We'll adjust like we always do when life changes.

So I just had to go home and spend a last full weekend with them before they leave.  And it didn't hurt getting away from a few things here in Utah...

Mostly I just played with Mason all weekend.  We played outside, I took him for rides on the four wheeler, we watched "Turtle Tales," ran through the sprinkler, I gave him baths, we fed a camel (Yes, a real huge camel that I swore was going to eat my whole arm.  Mason was equally afraid of the "horse" as he called it.).. it was just a fun weekend all around.  He's getting so big and talking SO much.  I think my favorite thing from the weekend, and this is going to sound horrible, was after I gave him a bath and he didn't want to get out, I went to take him to his mom to get dressed for bed and he did NOT want to get dressed..as I was handing him to her he frantically latched on to my neck and screamed/cried "AUNTIE, AUNTIE, AUNTIE." omg.  I seriously loved it.  Hahaha.  Jamie didn't, but whatevs.

Even though I was around my family all weekend, and they are hilarious, I totally sucked at writing stuff down this week... so Here's what I've got for a Wednesday post.  I will do better next week :)

"Is that a birthmark on your eye?"
-girl at work
Normally this wouldn't be something I would post because when you just read it, you're all like, "that's not funny."  But here's the thing, you guys.. this girl is weird.  Like, super dramatic and weird.  And guess what? No, it wasn't a birthmark on my eyeball it was CLEARLY a black mascara/eyeliner goop ball right on my eyeball. Gross, I know, but it happens. Especially when you wear eyeliner.  I don't know about you but I've never seen someone with a goopy birthmark on their EYEBALL... or anywhere for that matter.  When she asked me that I really wanted to be like "Really? You can't just tell me that I have a makeup goop ball on my eyeball?"  I was so annoyed.  It's like those people who ask if they have something in their teeth knowing that they don't simply because they want to get you to check yours to see that you have something nasty stuck on your teeth.  It's like, Just tell me.  OK?

"What's on your face? Your makeup is everywhere.  You look like an Aborigine."
-Jamie about my makeup at the end of the night.
Have you noticed that most Wednesday posts have a little bit of a theme?  Well here's about my make up again.  People are rude. All I have to say, is at the end of the day, I rub my eyes and my makeup tends to get everywhere. What's the big deal?  It happens.  And it's not like I'm going out to a club or something (haha not like I do that anyways, but you get my point.) Sue me.  But Really, Jamie?  Rude. haha.  Let's just say, I'm not the only dramatic one in my family.  I don't even know how she came up with Aborigine to compare me too.  I know what they look like, but I tried to google an imagine so I could post a picture for you, but I ended up seeing some naked people so I was like... Uhhh better not.

...And that was the last time I googled "Aborigine people."

"NOOOO-AH."
-mason's favorite word right now
For some reason his favorite word is "No" right now.  He doesn't mean it to be rude, I don't think, but it's so feisty because he gets this super annoyed face sometimes and always adds the "AH" at the end of it.  "Mason, do you want another bite?" "NO-AH!"...and that is how it went all weekend.  Oh and did I mention he screams it too? haha, As an aunt, I think it's funny.  Memaw and Jamie on the other hand? Not so much.

"Did you see Linda?" -Sherri to Kimbra about my mom's new purse.
"The slut with the Coach purse?!" -Kimbra
haha Jamie and James  brought mom a cute new spring Pink and Yellow Coach purse from DC..  She said she would wear the "Slut with the Coach Purse" title with pride. haha.  But really, it's cute and she's obsessed. So am I.  I thought about stealing it but remembered how stealing it bad.   Soooo, I didn't.

"See Ya!" *insert cutest baby smile and wave*
-Mason
There was one time this weekend when I was playing outside with Mason and I said, "Come on Mason, time to go inside." And he did this^^ Cutest thing ever.  He really thought I would just leave him out there to play while I went inside.  He just loves being outside. omg, I wish I could just remember all the cute things he did and write them all down but that would take forever.  But this one.  Was the cutest.

"That was three minutes long!!"
-Little kid in front of us at church about the LONGEST opening prayer
I'm not kidding.  Jamie and I had our eyes open most of the time watching Mason fold his arms and then get bored of it and move on to eating snacks and coloring.  But I don't blame him for getting bored.  You know what I'm talking about? It's those few people who put an entire youth talk into their prayer.  Sure, that's normal for personal prayer but for opening prayer in sacrament? Get real.  I was just laughing at the kid in front of me because he was getting so annoyed and really timed it with his watch.  His mom wasn't too happy when he yelled that, but if I were her I probably wouldn't be happy anyways. I kid you not, her oldest child legitimately hit himself in the head and on the leg three times right before that just because he was upset about something.  I sat there the entire time just in awe of the home ward. And a pinch creeped out by that child. It's always weird when you've been going to a singles ward for so long. haha children.

"As soon as you can say 'screw driver,' I will let you play with it." -Me to Mason as I took the tool out of his baby almost 2 year old baby hands
"Mason, say 'Screw Driver'..." -Dad
I tried to attempt the way that Mason said it but I can't do it justice.  But you guys, he's so smart.  He instantly said it and Dad was like "k, Give it to him."  I just looked at dad and rolled my eyes and had to walk away with the Screw Driver felling like a liar to my nephew.  I couldn't give him a screw driver to play with.  He had it for 2 seconds and he was trying to chip away Grandma's side walk piece by piece.  All I needed was for him to stick it through his foot by accident on my watch.  No way.  Dad just has that "he's a boy" attitude so you just let him do what he wants.  This from the guy would let Mason carry his pocket knive around for a little bit last week.  It was closed but still.  So Mason spent all weekend asking "BIFE?" BIFE?" and crying because he wanted Papa's knife.  Jamie, Regan and I even when looking for a fake "K-N-I-F-E." Hahaha. We couldn't find one.  But there is no way I was going to ask the worker where I could find a fake weapon for the child.  HA. Actually, he always has his own "NUN" (aka gun) so, I better start finding him a fake knife for his birthday or something.

That child is the best.

"I feel healthier than ever.  Like a coursing river."
-Kier
bahahhaa.  I was just telling her how I felt sick from eating too much of her delicious chocolate popcorn treat but Kier?! Nope.  She's healthier than ever, no matter what. Haha.  I'm not sure how the "coursing river" thing goes with that.  Is that a Pocahontas thing? I think it is.  Whatever. Just know she's healthy and strong? Maybe it means strong. We'll go with that :)

Wednesday. Mostly just things that were said and stories of what happened.

"Just try it."
-Nieko about sucking my thumb
It's pretty obvi that Nieko and I watch our fair share of trash TV.  We don't care.  Last week during one of our shows, this psycho girl talked about how she likes to suck her thumb.  She's in her twenties.  I just couldn't get over how weird it was.  I mean, we all have our "things" but what adult does that?! Of course Nieko and I sat there for a good minute trying i just to see what the hype was.  We just awkwardly sat there sucking our thumb for few seconds (not talking of course because our mouths were filled with thumb) and it was actually kind of soothing in a weird way.  hahahaha. Weird.  Never again.

"Messy."
-Mason over FaceTime about my eye makeup
Mason is getting more hilarious everyday.  This week he started doing this thing where he holds up his hand, his eyes get real big and he says "SORRY! SORRY!" SORRY!" He's a feisty boy.  Well I guess my mom has had to tell Mason that he's messy or "made a mess" a few times lately so the boy sees something and thinks it's a mess, he will tell you.  Like, he broke two eggs last week and told me about how he made a "mess" and was "sorry."  Well, homeboy decided to be rude one night and told me that my eyeshadow and smeared mascara was "messy."  Guess mom hasn't taught him how to not be a bully yet.

haha jk it was funny.  And it his defense, I was a hot mess that day.
touche', Mason.

"SAAAAAAIIIIIILLLLLLL!"
-All of us at the Awolnation concert
We only knew three songs going into the Awolnation concert last weekend.  The only song you probably know is "SAIL."  great song.  But we spent the whole night saying "SAIL!" and waiting for the song to be played. Sad part was a lot of people started leaving after they played that song.  Apparently, we weren't the only people who just wanted to hear that song.  But seriously, what a fun concert.

"The Pie is just a step up from Little Caesars"
-Vu talking about pizza
I'll admit, the Pie is sometimes really greasy, but it's good Pizza.  Clearly Vu doesn't like it.  But to Nieko, his comment was Blasphemy.

"I've never wanted to Kill anyone more in my life."
-Random "normal" looking dude at the concert talking to me about the Twilight Concert series and all the wackos that go to those.
Dude.  Don't you know what's been going on in our country this last week?  People who didn't look all that crazy, went all crazy and hurt a lot of people.  It might be a little too soon to even joke about killing people, don't you think?
Speaking of that.. am I the only one who's been super suspicious and judgy of people this week?  Like I saw a couple of guys at the concert that night who I swore were up to something.  Clearly, it was just me being on edge.  but really... This last week has been a nightmare. And then the whole "pipe bomb" scare at the elementary down the road from my apt this week too? I seriously don't trust anyone. Crazy people everywhere.

"I'm glad someone loves Awolnation as much as I do."
-Nieko's old girlfriend
I'm sure this old grandma lady was really nice and just really enjoyed Awolnation but she loved Nieko.  We spent the next few minutes upset that Nieko didn't hook it up with her. That would have made everyone's night. hahaha sick.

"...I wonder how long she was watching me?"
-Nieko
Really though.  Do you ever think about that?  So many people can be stalking your life and you wouldn't even know it.  It's kind of creepy. I bet that lady was watching Nieko dance all night. HAHAHA.  And clearly that makes me laugh.

Don't worry Nieko, maybe you two will run into each other at the next Awolnation concert (since you're both the biggest fans) and it will be love.  And you can get married on a boat and we can all sing SAIL because, HELLO, that's totes your song.

HA. jk. But really.  She was old.

"Mom, Look! I bit my tongue and it hurts."
-Me looking for sympathy over FaceTime
"You know what would fix that? A salt and vinegar chip."
- mom
Evil, right? The best part is that she was really hoping that I would take her seriously and try it.  Who does that?!  haha.  I guess I would try to convince someone stupid of that.  But mom, 1.) I'm not that stupid and 2.) You're my MOM! You're supposed to feel bad for me and tell me I'm pretty and the coolest and stuff.

hahaha. I love my mom.

"Look at me.  A rose between two thorns."
-Kiersten's grandpa who was sitting between us at Sunday dinner
Pretty much he was joking and it was super funny because I don't fully "get" old people sometimes.  Remember that time I went to volunteer at the Senior Citizen's place and the old lady told me I had a horrible singing voice?  It was a joke but I didn't get that for a while because the lady didn't laugh.  Old people are good at their jokes and some are really just that honest.  So if he wouldn't have been including his own granddaughter into that comment, I probably would have really been offended.

Old people, right?

"That's gay." -Kier's brother, Bronson
"What if I'm a lesbian and you just really offended me?" me
"Then I'd kick you out of my house... jk. Are you?" -Bronson
I really need to cut that crap out.  I had to spend the next 5 minutes convincing him I really wasn't a lesbian and really liked men.  Kier was like "You're far from lesbian.  You're obsessed with Zac Efron." HAHAHA Umm. Yeah, I'm not sure if that help my case.  In fact, I had to say "Zac isn't even real" just so I didn't seem like this crazy person who is either a lesbian or IN LOVE with a celebrity I've never met.  You guys... Zac IS a real person, so I feel bad about having to say that.  But I mean like, I don't LOVE him. I don't know him.

So I'm going to go on record and say, just because I don't tell people about the GUYS I crush on, doesn't mean I'm a lesbian or a celebrity stalker.

Yay, men! *fist pump*.. in a totally girly, non man-lezbo way.  dang it... We're done with this one.

"Kiersten's a billion times better, prettier and funner (I don't care if that's not a word) Everyone loves her."
-Sister Liz Waite in response to the tiny gossip portion of my emails I send her every week
I don't think this one really needs an explanation...We know what she was talking about.  Liz and I just like to chit chat and just because she's a missionary doesn't mean she's not a real person or realistic.  She knows what's up.  But we love Kier, so I had to share her comment because I thought it was funny .  Plus, I knew Kier would love this.

"I'm almost 60 years old.  No one gunna send me on a wild goose chase.  No one got time for that.  Do your job, get it done, or imma get in your face."... "You ever need a laugh you just give me a call, girl."
-Yolanda. Blackest women I've ever talked too ranting about people at her work who don't do crap. (One of my clients from NJ.)
I wish I could have recorded it so I could post it.  I was laughing so hard so she just kept going.  She clearly was upset about the "lazy" people she works with over there.  Here are some stats from that 15 minute phone call:

1-Curse words used. 3
2-Times legitimately using the phrase "no one got time for that." 6
3-Times she mentioned her "girl friend," called me spunky, told me to give her a call sometime and called me boo. 1 time each.

I'm not going to say she was flirting with me.. but she's called me a couple of times this week. I just laugh the whole time because she's so crazy.

Annoying Things You Might Do, But People Won't Admit it To Your Face- Part 2

People who make up bizarre stories to make their lives seem cooler and more dramatic than they really are.
We all have one of those friends or coworkers who is just like this.  Sometimes people will call you out on this one if you do this enough. However, most of the time the stories that come out of these people's mouths are so outrageous and so false that you can't help but sit there and listen to what they come up with next.

I know someone who keeps talking about how Hallmark and the Discovery Channel are working on writing their "Story" into a movie/episode.  That might be true, who knows? But the story seems so crazy and this person is so dramatic and open about it that it's really hard for me to believe.  But I'm not going to be the person, in this case, who's like "REALLY?"  Instead, I just sit there and listen and ask questions and then talk about it to my coworker afterward.  Don't judge me for "gossiping" about this person.  We all have done this at some point.  And besides, they are the one who is supposedly going to let the world see their story and talk about it anyway.  They asked for it.

My point?  It's annoying.  No, we don't care that you think all these girls want you or whatever.  Who are you trying to kid?  We know you.  We know that "So and So" wouldn't date you.  We also all have facebook, twitter and instagram and we know what you're up too these days. We know you're job isn't that cool. We know, we know, we know.  I guess what I'm saying is, if you want people to think you're cool.. Just BE cool.  It's not that hard.  Making up stories, bragging or lying about dumb stuff just makes you annoying... and significantly less cool.

I'm just trying to help.

The Combined Couple Facebook page

For the love of Social Media, why do people do this?! I've came up with a few lame reasons why I think people MIGHT do this.  But before you read it...I think they are all stupid.

1.) The woman doesn't trust the man. If he's going to cheat on you using facebook, there are other ways he can do it.  Just saying. I know of someone who was using the Chat part of her "Words with Friends" game to hook up with this guy who wasn't her husband.  I also heard of people drawing pictures of where to meet up next on their "Draw Something" app.  All of which seem really confusing and way too time consuming but yeah, there are ways outside of facebook. Where's the trust?
2.) Someone in the relationship is TOO excited about the fact that they are married. (I'm assuming that it has to be the girl that makes this stuff up because I don't know what dude would be like, "Babe, let's combine our Facebook Pages to show how in love we are." get.freaking.real. I can't see that happening.)
3.) The man doesn't use facebook, maybe? But here's the thing.  If you don't use facebook, you don't need your name on it. Ever.
4.) I'm just assuming the girl got the idea and the dude simply can't find his manhood (if you know what I mean.)

All of these reasons are stupid, and I'm sure there are even more idiotic reasons why people might do this.  Maybe someone saw someone else do it and they were like "oh that's cute?" That's just my opinion (and of course you're entitled to your own)  But I really believe that most people don't think it's cute.  It's annoying.

If you have a combined Facebook page and you're reading this, don't get offended.  Just separate your facebook pages, and simply put your relationship status to "married." We get that.  Plus, doesn't it get annoying that people don't know if it's you or your wife (or vice versa) talking? ugh. I just got annoyed thinking about it.

It's dumb. We all think it. The end.  Moving on.

People who only focus on one thing on their Social Media accounts.
Do you know where I'm going with this one?  I have a few "friends" who do this and they have gotten to the point where they just get skimmed over when I'm reading all the updates.

1.) People who only post ONE-SIDED political rants.  I hate them.
2.) People who post a hundred million religious quotes and pictures and junk.  Don't get me wrong, I love reading some of the quotes but when that is all you are posting, it kind of gets annoying.

These aren't too bad though.  I mean, I can decide to not follow you if I want so it's whatever.  However, I'm just trying to help.  Try mixing it up a little.  Like, write in your status about something embarrassing you did that day.  Or post a picture of your cat.  Actually, scratch that... I hate cats but for some reason everyone is obsessed with them these days.  It's weird.  I'm just saying change it up.

People who are grumpy All.the.time.
I know that my blog rants or occasional angry tweets might make me sound like a perma grumy gumpster.  I am not.  In fact, I feel like I'm happy and having a good time, most of the time!  But one thing I can't stand is someone who is always grumpy.  We know this girl who we say has a "Perma-B" look on her face all the time. It's true.  Don't people know how wrinkly their face will get with all that scowling and frowning.  Just stop.

Speaking of grumpy people..If people are doing nice things for you (ie going to your birthday party just to be nice even though no one really wanted to go) it's kind of just a courtesy that you be nice to them and smile or something.  I don't know.  Plus, if it's a party to celebrate your life, why wouldn't you be happy?  I'd be like "I love my liiiiife. RED BULLS ALL AROUND. PARRRRRRTTY." for real.  But no.  Some people decide to complain about the party someone else planned for them, accuse people of doing things that they may or may not have done and then give them 'Tude when they decide to peace out early.  I don't get it.

Grumpy people are annoying.  And you'll probably only get called out by a good friend if this is you.  But Perma-grumpy people don't have true good friends, I feel.  So take it from me when I say, "chill out."
