Where has this cake been my whole life? I had a piece for Cole/my birthday this week and it was the best cake to touch my lips in like, ever.  Well, besides "Grandma Stump Cake."  Sure, the cream cheese frosting doesn't make it the best cake FOR you to eat and I kind of wanted to die thinking about it. But it was worth it. yum.

I've mentioned these before when I made my new years resolution about a year ago and really, I don't know what I would do with out this thing...especially since I'm not buying bottled water which happens to be my drink of choice.  So basically, that makes this bottle GOLD!


Redken "All Soft" line

I just started using this stuff this week and my hair is soft. like whoa. My favorite is using the deep cream conditioner (that comes in a tiny bottle) and how it instantly becomes the softest thing ever. Sometimes I don't want to get out of the shower because of it. It's a little spendy but it's good stuff.

My cousin's little boy is the funniest little kid.  We showed up to Thanksgiving dinner and he stood in the middle of the room, closed his eyes and even though no one asked him a question he said the above quote.  I.was.dying.  I mean 1.) what kind of 3 year old says something that deep? ...idk. You'd think that he picked it up from a movie or something but I doubt it. really. Deep.

It's true.  Guaranteed we weren't the only ones who noticed the people who literally looked homeless but they were in line buying every electronic that Walmart marked down by 20 bucks.  And let's not EVEN talk about the people who are in debt up to their eye balls and were still filling their carts with all of the deals. I mean, I guess at least they're trying to save? haha....tis the season.

My dad doesn't know how to work a computer and obviously he's been missing all of those commercials about the Kindle being $79 because he didn't know what we were talking about. Don't worry, he knows what a Ken Doll is!  haha. omg. I love my dad and his inability to work with technology.  I gave them my iPod touch this last week though, so maybe he'll start getting the hang of it!? we'll see.

Thanksgiving Weekend 2011

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is already over and that we are nearing the month of December?!  It's crazy how fast it's all flown by.  It would be nice to say that my holiday vacation was filled with lots of relaxing but if that were the case, the last 5 days wouldn't have been as fun as they were.  The whole weekend was jammed packed with lots of family, shopping, eating, and laughing.  I couldn't have asked for a better vacation--other than maybe asking for it to be a little longer. But I have a long Christmas vacation to look forward to.

I spent most of the time loving on my nephew.  I've said it before, but I don't know how moms do it!?  Granted, he was a really good baby as we hauled him around shopping for two day straight, but holding him all the time hurts so good.  Pretty sure my muscles got bigger over the weekend.  Even though my arms would hurt sometimes, I would pretend they didn't so I could hold him longer. haha...

To say that I love this baby is a major understatement.

I just love my family and going home.  It really only makes sense to spend Thanksgiving with the people who make you grateful to be alive each and every day. I love you Mom, Dad, Jamie, James, Regan, Mason and Cole :) :)

Highlights of the weekend besides Mason and the family in general:

Black Friday with Coleman and Regan.  Cole sent Regan and I to get and get some of the Xbox 360 games that were on sale at 10pm at Walmart.  Yep. I said it. Walmart. *shiver* Uhhh... it turned into us holding our stance for an hour making sure one little mexican boy didn't cut in front of us, making friends with interesting people, strategizing what we were going to do once they opened it all up and ended with us being pushed from the front and the back (mosh pit style) while Regan tried to grab whatever she could grab while people were being pushed to the ground, stepped on and yelled/cursed at and we didn't even get one of the good games.  Regan got scratched, my arms and legs were shaking... Seriously.. It was the first and hopefully LAST time I will ever do Walmart on black friday.  I didn't even get anything because I was so distraught. haha. Oh Black Friday and the crazies who let their "inner-crazier" out just to save a few bucks.  redic.

Watching the little cousins bull-dog my aunt and uncles goats after Thanksgiving dinner.  You think I'm kidding...but I'm not.  I was going to post the video but I didn't want you to think that it was the typical thing we do in Idaho. haha. I don't even know how it happened.  After dinner I noticed that it was really quiet and that all of the 15 or so kids were missing. I walked back to the area where all the animals are at my Uncles and notices that ALL of the kids were in the goat pin.  Of course the dad's of the kids (my cousins) came out and yelled "Bull-dog 'em!" The kids did it.  I couldn't help but laugh because I couldn't believe how fearless they were just jumping on the huge goats and riding them.  Some of them were 3 year olds. haha. It's on youtube.  I've never seen such a thing. I wouldn't let my kids do that I don't think, just because I don't like getting dirty and if my kids are anything like me they will probably be a "wussy" like one of the kids called me. [rude.] haha but these kids honestly loved it!! It seriously was one of the most ridiculous/funniest things I've seen in a long time. 

Birthday presents/Cake/Parties

Seeing Hyrum for the first time in person since he got married and skipping most of sacrament just so we could catch up!  I love that even though I've moved away and he's married, (and soon to be a dad) that things are the same with us!  We laughed, gossipped.. you know, the usual!  So fun. And I even got to see Sav for a few minutes! Even though we IM, Email and text there's just something about seeing a BFF in person :)

Even though it was a fun weekend, it's good to be back.  I just love my bed!... haha. Oh and I totally got the Christmas tree up last night. woot woot! Dear Snow, just because the tree is out doesn't mean we want you in the valley just yet.  Thanks :)

So Blessed

I woke up this morning and couldn't help but feel super blessed for the life that I have, which is a pretty good one!  I have an amazing family, I have great friends, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have a cute little apartment, a car to drive, a great job with wonderful coworkers... I really have it pretty dang good.  


As I was thinking of the main blessings in my life I couldn't help but think about some of the simple things in my life that I'm thankful for as well:


Down pillows
A comfy bed
Beautiful trees, plants and flowers
Great talks with friends
Laughter
Online shopping *
My cellular that pretty much does everything:)
Heat when it's cold.  Air Conditioning when it's hot.
"Talking" to my nephew on the phone and hearing him giggle.
A brother for a roommate and our combined tolerance for each other's bull.
Facebook and it's ability to keep me "informed"

The Sun/Moon/Stars
Delicious Food
Pictures/Vids of puppies and other tiny pets (I can't have one but I love looking at them!)

I know that I take a lot of the small stuff for granted but I really am so grateful for all of the things I have been blessed with in my life.  As much as I love nice, material things...above all, I am thankful for the people in my life.  I'm not sure how I got so lucky to have SO MANY stellar people in my life. To those people, I hope you know that I appreciate each of you for so many different reasons and that I truly do love you like crazy.

I woke up this morning to a phone call from my mom asking me about certain movies, CD's and other things on my Birthday and Christmas wishlist. So as I was getting ready for the day and thinking of some more options for my mom (aside from cars, diamonds, money, and a sexy "Efronesque" man)  I couldn't get these random wishes out of my head...

I wish:

1.) I could just snap my fingers and be home for thanksgiving already playing with Mason, Regan, the sibs, and M&D.  And let's not forget to add "see some of the besties" to the list :)

2.) That I was in Hawaii with my friend Sam right now.  I mean, sun, water, tanning, relaxing, fruity drinks, did I mention SUN and TANNING!? uhhhhh, that's my kind of Holiday Vacay.


3.) That "My Life As Liz" would come back so we could see what happens...Random thought, but true.  I'm not sure what made me think about it, but it popped into my head and I got super ticked about the fact that they haven't finished the story and have just left us hanging for over 6 MONTHS.  It's rude. real rude.

4.) That everyone would follow all of my advice that I give them, no questions asked. Wouldn't that be a good wish granted? I mean, I swear it would help mankind.  But I guess there's that thing call agency. whaaaaaaat? (haha, jk)

5.) That some of these younger TV stars and Celebs would stay together.  I mean, ENOUGH with the divorces and cheating on each other already. I'm sick of it. Make me believe in love, like you do in your movies!!! haha. really though. Boo to divorces.  (obviously there are circumstances but for the LOVE..)

I could go on.  Basically, I think it only makes sense that you're allowed more wishes as you age.  But maybe I should think of some that are a little more realistic?  You know, since I'm not the dude off "Jumper," I can't be in two places at once, and I can't control MTV or other people's actions/behaviors...dang it!

For now I will just enjoy my last week of being 23 with some of the people I love the most, in one of my most favorite places in the world!

WTH?!

My thoughts over the last 10 minutes since finding out and immediately blogging about it:

1.) Why didn't he tell me face to face? (haha. OK, so what if we were only on a "Hello, What's going on" talking basis but really!?)  I shouldn't have to over hear that kind of news while he's at the printer talking to another coworker... haha. yeah, you're right. That's the only way I would have found out, but still!


2.) Come to find out he's been dating the chick for 2 years. Dang!  For an LDS guy that's really good these days.  Of course I don't know him and his relationship with this girl or whatever but I totally appreciate him for that.  It's kind of refreshing...just like his good looks and fashion sense. haha.


3.) When Amy and I fbook stalked him a while ago he didn't have ANY pictures of girls at all...nor was he in a relationship or tagged in any photos with girls.  It was a bit odd at first to tell you the truth. A guy who dresses like that, and doesn't have any pictures with girls? just sayin.


4.) Supposedly they are getting married the end of March. Oh, the things you can learn while eavesdropping.


5.) Amy seems to think I'm a home wrecker now for "having a crush on a married man."
           a-He's not married YET.
           b-Within the first 60 seconds of finding out he was engaged and spreading
              the gossip amongst the office via IM...he somehow got less attractive.
           c-That doesn't mean that I won't have a style crush on him.  Just sayin'.


6.) I guess I will just have to go to Twilight tonight (and tomorrow with McKenzie) and drool over some Jacob Black Indian bod.  I hear he's shirtless within the first 10 seconds... I don't care if it's cheesy and the acting most likely sucks--that's my kind of movie :)

Maybe not the most attractive man in the world but he could totally be my Edward.  I would say Zac Efron because of my HUGE lust-crush on him, but let's be honest...he couldn't pull off the vamp role.  That, and I wouldn't want him ruined with all the glitter and the pale skin.

Yes, Cole and Sam and I went to see that movie and, although it was painfully awkward in some parts and was all dumb humor, we laughed a lot more than we expected too! Just imagine the little indian (dot, not feather) boy saying this in a creepy little voice. I died laughing.

bahahahahhaha. An "invisible somebody?" A "ghost farmer?" omg. I'm not kidding when I say that I really want a friend like Snooki.  Sure, she's not the best role model or whatever but she's HILARIOUS; I think we'd get along just great!

Dear Bravo, I love you and I will most likely catch the show but REALLY?!?!  "Don't be Tardy for the Wedding?" Kim Zolciak?! Her own show?! O-M-G.  For those of you who don't know why the name of the new show is so ridiculous or don't know who Kim is...Look her up on itunes.  She has two songs "Don't be Tardy for the Party" and "The Ring Didn't Mean the Thing." (talking about being the mistress of "Big Papa".) Haha. Her songs? uh, Thank you Auto Tune! Let's not forget she's probably the classiest of all the real housewives *insert sarcasm here.*  Sad part? I probably won't be tardy for the wedding...

I'm a little emotional sometimes and yeah, it's a bit ridiculous. Sue me.

The Good Guy [doesn't have to] Finish Last.

I have this friend who is openly honest when it comes to dating.  He sees a girl that he's interested in, he makes a move and he's presistant in asking her out. That's not the most normal thing around here these days.  [Am I right ladies? Or am I right?] He's told me stories of some of the things that he's done for or said to some of these girls and I think, "WHAT THE HECK?! why don't they date you or give you a chance!? You're one of the good guys!"

This is usually followed with the statement of "the good guy always finishes last."

Maybe saying ALWAYS isn't a good word to use in this statement because they don't always end up last but I've actually seen it happen a lot lately. Maybe it's because it happens to close guy friends that I've gotten to know over the years but come on, girls...why are we letting this happen?!  Sure, I have this weird thing about guys with earrings and tats and the "bad boy image"--it's hot.  But that's a fake thing; I'm not REALLY going to only seek out those kind of guys. I just like the looksie part. But you can guarantee if someone did some of those nice things for me [Tatted or not], I wouldn't leave him with an impersonal thank you via text or facebook and make up some excuse as to why "I'm not ready for a relationship" or whatever kind of bull crap girls are feeding boys these days in hopes they will just get the hint and leave them alone. Give him a chance.  One date.  That's all they are asking for.  They aren't asking for you to hold their hand and frolic with them through life and eternity.  Yet, at least.

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies....You want the good guys to continue asking you out yet you play mind tricks, you're dishonest, you say no to FIRST dates, you bruise ego's and destroy their confidence.  Check yourself.

Today's HVBS (Harmless Virtual B Slap) is to the girls who sing hymns in church like they are in the Opera and think it's cool, and who think they are too hot to go on even one date with some of these good guys just "because"....you suck and quite frankly, you're weird.

Girls--Give them a chance and be honest if you aren't interested. Most guys prefer it that way.  To quote my friend, "there are better ways to communicate than silence." Uh, yeah, it's called being straight up in the nicest way possible. duh.

Good Guys--Learn from my friend.  If you see it and like it then go for it, you dummies! Stop making up excuses.

I know it's November 15th but.....

I went into the buckle a couple Saturday's ago and they were playing Christmas music.  Normally, I'm not OK with stuff like that when it's still pre-turkey day, but I was fine because it got me in a Christmas shopping mood, which I love.

Well, I haven't listened to Christmas music yet, aside from JB's album of course and while shopping in EVERY store (besides Nordstom) who thinks it's OK to play Christmas music all day everyday starting November 1st. Side note--boy do I feel bad for the workers at those stores. I'd be Christmas-ed out by Dec 1st.

So if you're one of those who has busted out the Christmas music already, I won't judge you if you are, then you have to listen to She & Him's "A Very She & Him Christmas." It's different. It's edgy. But a good different/edgy, I think.  It's Zooey Deschanel so take it for what it's worth...

..But I adore her. amen.
