Savanna and I knew that Oldnavy had all of there cheapy flip flops on sale for $1.00 yesterday! So we decided that we would go and check it out. I decided to get a couple (because you can always use cheap flip flops when doing things that would cause damage to them.. AKA, painting, rafting, whatev.) ANYWAYS, I always hear from a few of my friends (Alex being one) that they find cute/really cheap deals all of the time. Every time they ask me how much I think they paid for something I automatically guess cheaper than what I think because they are always finding good deals. Like J.Crew pants for 1.29 that could easily be made into shorts. Hearing this from my friends always makes me angry. Finding good deals has never been something I've been good at or even really tried to accomplish. We all know that I sometimes even have fears of using a coupon. I don't know what it is. I'm getting over it though!
But check it. While at Oldnavy yesterday we decided to check out the clearence rack and saw that everything was 97cents! NO JOKE. I didn't even know what I was grabbing at first because people were going crazy and I was terribly uncomfortable and claustrophobic but then something seemed to over come me. I got caught up in the cheapness. It was great. I ended up getting a 2 shirts, 2 fleece sweaters and a pair of pants (I'm going to call them my camping pants because I don't know where I'm going to wear them.. but I couldn't pass them up.. maybe I will make them into 97cent shorts:)) all for .97 cents each!! I probably wouldn't have every purchased any of these articles of clothing but for .97 cents? PLEASE!

FRIEND TIME!!
I decided that I'm heading to Rexburg for the weekend. I'm going to spend some quality chill time with Savanna, including helping her with some Golf Tournament stuff for her work and see some of my really good friends!!! I need a weekend of social interaction. I don't think I've ever had so little plans in my life that I was able to say, "Hey, I think I will go to Rexburg this weekend" and then just do it. It's pretty nice!

Spray Tans, Milk Duds, Skype and Rejections.
Today was a crazy day. I had two job interviews today.. and well, we won't talk about it. We'll just say that the Lord has his own timing and I know something will work out.. Even though I thought this job would have been perfect. Oh well.
So I got home and Jamie and I decided we were going to use our spray tans today instead of our regular high powered gold bed. We'd never done a spray tan before. We heard good and bad things about it. However, when we got to the point for the actual tan all we could think of was the episode of Friends were Ross gets a spray tan and doesn't turn in time and gets sprayed numerous times ONLY on his front. OMG. SCARY. We were nervous. But we did it.. successfully, I think :)

If you haven't seen this episode of Friends, you HAVE to watch the short clip on YouTube. Watch it and imagine me freaking out. Funny Stuff.
Between my spray tan, the box of milk duds Jamie bought for me, and Skyping with Savanna.. I felt a little bit better about the whole job thing.

2 New Obsessions
Let's be honest, I haven't had a lot of exciting things happen lately. However, these are two new things I'm obsessed with.
This gum will blow your mind. Not only is the gum black and wrapped in black wrapping (which is what drew me to it at first) but it's got great taste and lasts for a really long time. I'm obsessed with it lately because I've been home a lot which makes me want to eat more..So part of my diet has been chewing this gum. It's 5 yummy calories that tricks my body into thinking it's eating something delicious and gaining some kind of nutritional value from it for hours. GENIUS!
My next new obsession: High Pressure Tanning Beds! I've tanned in some pretty crappy beds but this time I decided to go big with the Gold Package and I'll probably never go back. I've been tanning almost daily in beds similar to this one... My life has been changed. What's better than going in for only 10 minutes and coming out a golden goddess. Yeah, I'm on the way to it. I think today I'm going to try the stand up bed!! yes. obsessed.

The dreaded "What If?"
Random fact about Jenn: I always try to take away life lessons from movies I watch. I know, "Not everything you see on the big screen is real." However, I really believe that there are great lessons to be learned in each movie you watch that you are able to apply to what you are going through in your life at that particular moment.
Last night was a night out at the movies for the Hansen sisters. We decided to see two movies in one night which is quite the experience when it's not at the drive in. We saw the movies "Letters To Juliet" and "Robin Hood," both of which are very good. Note--If you are going to see Robin Hood you have to go into not expecting it to be the same as the Robin Hood with Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman and the lovely Christian Slater.
"Letters to Juliet" is a great love movie about a women who searches for a long lost love after almost 50 years. I loved it. Possibly because the morale of the story, or the lesson to be learned, deals with something I have been struggling with a bit. I think we all do at some point. This concerns the question of, "What If?" and living with regrets.

There is a point in the movie where one of the characters talks about the "What If''s" in life and talks about living with regrets. Something she said really touched me when she said "...All you have to do is have the courage to follow your heart."
I don't want to be the person to live with regrets and always wonder "WHAT IF?" I know that feeling. It's not a good feeling. Well, I walked out of that movie last night ready to conquer all of my fears about certain things. Yet still, I'm here to say that it's not that easy.
...I'll have to let you know how it goes.

Little Chocolatiers Vs. Willy Wonka
A few weeks ago I was watching TLC's show called "Little Chocolatiers"--A show about a little couple who own a chocolate business. The show sounds pretty boring, right?
WRONG! What is better than little people who make chocolate? I know, I know. This coming from a girl who was/is still scared by the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (I have legit reasons for being scared. That movie is hecka creepy. The kids expected to go into a magical world where chocolate and other delicious treats are made only to have that creepy willy dude try to trap them in there and make them disappear. Nightmare. )

Anyways, I couldn't stop watching the Little Chocolatiers when it was on. You can tell that the cute couple is so in love and they make amazingly huge chocolate art together. I kid you not. I watched one where they did a chocolate mold of a guys head AND a full chess set made purely out of chocolate!!

It was brought to my attention last night that "The Little Chocolatiers" business is located in Salt Lake City. It's called "Hatch Family Chocolate."
Yes, I am definitely going to check it out soon. I'm sure my experience will be much better than Charlie and the other kids had in Willy Wonka's Factory. Maybe this will help me to overcome my long time fear of Chocolate Factories? You think I'm kidding.. but I'm SO not.

Fiercely Real
Tyra's gone and done it again.
Many of you probably saw the youtube video that spread on Facebook earlier this week of Tyra Banks barking and foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog on the stage of her talk show. We all know that Tyra is straight-up crazy! Don't get me wrong though..Homegirl's got it going on. I love her. I'll admit that I watch her show frequently and that I've learned a lot from her. I've learned more about steroids, dating, prostitution, object love and other things that are most likely illegal and if they aren't, they should be.
Today's show was what Tyra called a Fiercely Real Fiesta--A show dedicated to plus sized women. Leave it to Tyra to try and change the title of "plus sized" to "fiercely real."
I'm serious. She has been trying to change it as part of her B.I.O (Beauty Inside & Out) campaign. She said she wants to represent the REAL girls. So she started her "fiercely real" Teen Model Search to help show the media that REAL girls are fierce too.
Well, Tyra, I love what you're doing! I think it's great to celebrate the plus sized women out there. We all know that I was fit under this category and yeah, what's not to love? But, REALLY Tyra? Are you saying that skinning women aren't real?? haha. That's crazy talk. Pretty sure we're all real girls. Some just bigger or smaller than others!!!
But I figured everyone should know that there's a new term out there--"Fiercely Real". So don't say I didn't warn you. Wouldn't want anyone using it wrong or not knowing what it's all about.

Maybe I like Being Scared A Little..
I just ordered the 3rd and final book of the Darkest Powers Series by Kelley Armstrong! I can't wait to see what happens. Do they escape? We shall see. I hope Barnes and Noble ships it FAST!
I told my friend Alex when he came to visit last month that I wasn't allowed to read anymore books with dead people in them because I was starting to freak myself out a little. Well, that was back when I was reading the first one and before I found out it was a trilogy. Opps. I HAD to see what happens so I just kept reading. I can't just leave the story unfinished. Plus, I think there is a part of mean that likes to be scared a little. Keeps me on my feet:)
Hooked On Phonics
I've been writing a lot lately about the old stuff I found while helping my mom clean the house last week. However, I forgot about one our finds. This will be the last one, I promise. Here is a picture:
Yep. These are my old Hooked On Phonics cassette tapes. Old School. Can you believe that I actually did these? Well, I did. My mom said that she didn't even remember me doing them. But I remember it and I know myself well enough to assume that I probably did them just for fun. Haha. Not even kidding. Well, who cares why I did them. The fact is that I did them and I am proud to say that I can read. My name is Jennifer Hansen and I am, I mean WAS, Hooked On Phonics :)

Time to Think
I've had a lot of time to think the last couple of weeks. Here are some questions that have been going through my mind recently about different situations:
1.) Why do we have to do somethings that we really don't want to do?
2.) Where am I really supposed to be?
3.) Why can't I always be around all of the people I love?
4.) Have I been avoiding my true feelings about a few things for this long?
5.) Is this realistic?
6.) Am I truly doing everything I can do?
7.) Am I being too cautious/safe with certain things in my life?
8.) Honestly.... how many licks does it REALLY take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop (minimum)?
I truly have decided that I think too much and my life cannot be fraughtless because I am definitely not thoughtless (Wicked Musical). But then again, I wouldn't be me without my thoughts. Therefore, I choose to keep them!
