Wendesday

"He kind of reminds me of that one guy with a beard and long hair." -Sam
"Ashton Kutcher?" -me
"No...the one that..." -Sam
"Jesus Christ?!" -me
"Oh yeah, that's him." -sam
hahahhahaha.  Ok, he wasn't REALLY talking about the Savior, however, he was so quick with his response.  We laughed pretty hard.

"This is for real.  The people who used to live here committed suicide." -Eason
"DRIVE, DRIIIIVE!" -Sam
This weekend I learned that Sam is a little bit of a scardy-cat.  We took him with us to see "The House at the End of the Street" and he was terrified.  Like, there was one point in the movie where he got up and left the theater and I really didn't think he was going to come back.  He did, and he was fine but it was HILARIOUS.  Afterwards liz, easton, sam and I were driving around doing scary things and freaking each other out; Sam wanted to go home.  I honestly haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

"Aren't you glad?" -me talking to willy about the pantry or something.
"I'm good, thanks." -willy
haha typical man not really listening to what I was really asking...  It's ok. It's like those moments where you can't understand what someone is saying or talking about and you just say. "yeaahhh." or "uh huh." or "for sure."  But no.  Willy was like "I'm good, thanks."  So either he's just really bad and pretending he is paying attention, or he just REALLY misunderstood. hmm.

"Did I...or...was that a dream."
-Nieko
Don't you just hate those times when you have a dream and you think that it's real life?  Well, even worse is when you really do something and you can't remember so you think it's a dream.  Oh Nieko.  haha. Funny weekend.

"What other games can we play?" -Me to Coleman
"Duck, Duck, whore" -Cole
I was trying to come up with games to play at church for Family Home evening on Monday and THAT is the game that cole suggested.  It's like, really?!  hahaha. He's so my brother, it's sickening.

"Mom needs your Christmas list." -Me to cole while talking to mom
"I don't want too." -Cole
"I'll send mine." -Sam
"Yeah, me too." -Easton
"Mom said you can't because you don't love her, EASTON!" -me
"Well I will love her if I get presents." -Easton
Hahah. Earlier Mom told cole and I that she loved us over the phone and Sam yelled "LOVE YOU" then I proceeded to give Easton crap because he is the only one who didn't say it. Mom was dying laughing over the phone.  So that's how the whole thing started.  honestly, maybe Easton is a long lost brother because the kid knows how to work it, just like me :) #ilovepresents.

Oh and don't judge that we like to christmas shop early.  I think mom is rubbing off on me because I just ordered my first christmas present this morning.  eek.

"Do you follow [So and So] on instagram?"
-Savanna
Honestly, this is a common start to a lot of our IM convos.  Then we just laugh and really wonder if some people are for real.  It's comical, actually.  Word to the wise, don't be posting stuff on Instagram or Facebook that is going to make people want to throw up after thinking about it.  Sometimes there are some things that people don't need to know.

"I haven't had time to do my any of my homework..."
"I didn't get one page of my book read."
-just some people
These are legit things people said to their manager about not having time to do personal things at work.  bahaha. And I again I say, "Are these people for real!?"

"That's a horror movie...Nightmare."
-Sam
hahaha.  I'm not sure how it started, but the "nightmare" thing is a common phrase in our little group of friends.  Last night Sam was talking about coleman eating cottage cheese.  I'm not sure if he was just trying to come up with a different thing to say besides nightmare or what.. but. hahaha the "horror movie" thing didn't work.  Good thing he quickly retracted the statement and switched it to nightmare.  Annoying phrase or not...it just works.  HA

(Jamie tells me all the time that I think everything is a nightmare.  I'm currently working on thinking of replacement words. Patience please.)

----------------------------
Although this week was filled with some really funny crap--I have to give my favorite "quote" (if you can call it that) to my boy Mason!  When we were in California and also a few times on the phone the last couple of weeks, every time I talk to Mason I say, "Mason, can you say Jenn?!"  A couple times he came back saying the same thing as the time before.  Part of me wanted to be like, oh, he's totally saying my name.  However, everyone would just laugh at me and would say that he doesn't know what he's saying.  Well, last night I got on FaceTime and WITHOUT me saying anything he saw me on the iPhone and said the same thing he said before:
"Nenna."
I don't know where it came from and I don't know if it will stick, but even Jamie witnessed it.  Nenna.  I am Aunt Nenna!!  I'll take it :) I mean, until I get him to call me other things like, Princess Jenn, Homie, or Aunt J or something.

actually, I like nenna.  It works.

omg. I love him.

Progress.

Yesterday, to my surprise, I had a really good friend call me to check on me and to tell me about an experience he had the other day.  His story made me so happy!  I was happy for him, the accomplishments he's made, and how far he's come in the last year.

I'm not sure what it is but lately, for some reason, I have a really hard time at simply being happy for other people.  hmm.. That might have come out wrong.  Yes, I am 100% happy for him and I'm happy when other friends and family tell me about their successes, but sometimes it turns into a "why am I not in that place?"  (this could be personally, spiritually..whatever.  Somehow I usually end up critiquing my own life and where I am because that's just how I do.)

Don't worry, this doesn't turn into a Pity party because that's not what I'm all about.  However, my friend said some really great things to me that made me have a paradigm shift.

I told him that I never pictured myself being almost 25 and backpedaling when it comes to certain aspects of my life.  He then went on to say something that I haven't really thought about in the 9 months or so since it's been really bothering me.  He said, "Jenn, I don't see it as backpedaling."  He went on to say that as we get older our life situations change.  We live in new places, meet new people, form different ideas and beliefs and simply change and grow as a person.  Just because things aren't the exact same way as they used to be, it doesn't mean that we aren't still good people or capable of doing great things.  Sometimes we just lose sense of our priorities for a minute.  Maybe we shouldn't look at it as backpedaling because through each experience we go through, we learn.  If we are learning, we are progressing.  And if we are learning through our mistakes and trials and learning means progressing then we for sure can't be going backwards.  (phew) Make sense?

So...it might feel like we are going backwards for a little while..but we have to try to be less critical of ourselves and remember that we are just trying to figure out our own crap like everyone else.  For some of us, some of the little lessons may take longer to figure out, or won't come until we are mid twenties, or later.  Whatever the case, we just need to take each experience as a time to learn and grow.

I loved this pep talk just as much as I love this friend. Of course after great words of advice and a few tears (on my part) he ended making fun of a certain situation and making me laugh.

Isn't that what friends are for?  Listening, caring, giving advice and then laughing at you for it. :)

Fun. [Not the band. Just a Mega Tag from Monica :)]

My friend Monica over at All Things Lovely tagged me in a super fun question/answer, Mega Post yesterday.  Of course I hopped right on the Mega Tag train because well, I like fun.  So here we go :)

The rules are as follows:
1::Each person tagged must post 11 random facts about themselves
2::They must answer the 11 questions posted by the previous blogger
3::They must create 11 more questions to ask their tagged bloggers
4::They must tag 11 blogs with less than 200 followers
5::The bloggers must be told
6::No tag backs

11 Facts about me:

1:: I'm obsessed with Fall/October. (ie-Halloween is my favorite holiday, I love the colors, the smells ect...)
2::I get creeped out more than I think any human person ever should. By the smallest things, I might add.
3:: My Junior year of High School I won Homecoming queen.  Most girls think that's the best thing ever at the time (and it was fun) but I was more excited about being FFA and Student Body President. ie. I kind of have a control problem.
4:: I LOVE mint things.
5:: I have lots of Best Friends including my parents and sibs.  Basically, I just know a couple handfuls of really great people.
6:: Sometimes I think that I will never be able to love another child (even if I do have kids someday) more than I love my nephew, Mason.  I'm sure it will change once more nieces and nephews come but right now, I just can't imagine it!
7:: I will be 25 in a little over 2 months and part of me wants to be like "Yay, quarter of a century, I'm young, single and fun" and another, probably bigger, part of me wants to be like, "FML."
8:: I have this thing where once I start planning something, like a birthday part, holiday party, ect... I tend to get a little overboard.  Even if no one else is excited about it.
9:: If I ever won the lottery, after buying a house for my parents, myself, and a new car (The obvious things), I would start my own event/party planning business...And it would be fab.
10:: Everyone says that I'm super dramatic, but I just like to think that I'm just super committed to the way I feel :)
11:: I'm a reality TV junkie.  I'm slowly working on the cure.------>Hi, my name is Jenn and I am 55 days sober of any Housewives or Bravo TV.
...this is the part where you congratulate me and give me a present :) ..or just a high five will do.

11 Questions from Monica to me:

1::This is a two parter...a. what is your all time favorite movie? This one is hard because I love movies so much and there are so many different genres. Like, I love scary movies in general and around Christmas time I get obsessed with Christmas movies.  But aside from those, I love Titanic and Pearl Harbor.  Those are two movies that I find myself watching at least once a year.

b. what is your favorite watching a movie treat? Hands down--buttery, fatty, yummy popcorn.  Movie theatre popcorn. mmmm.  Or even better--Jiffy Pop!

2::Would you rather live on the beach, in the mountains, or in the city? I've been in Park City a little in the past few days for work and I just love how peaceful and beautiful the mountains are at this time of the year.  However, snow and I?  We don't get along.  And the thought of just being completely secluded in the mountains quite frankly creeps me out. So in the perfect word, I would choose mountains (like park city that still has some places to shop) and then a Beach House for the winter :)

3::If you could only have one dessert for the rest of your life what would it be? Probably cupcakes.  Lots of cute, delicious cupcakes.  professional ones of course :)

4::What is your favorite subject to learn about?  This might sound funny, but I just like learning about people in general.  I like studying how they are and why they do what they do.  I especially love hearing/learning about where people come from and their personal stories.

5::What color do you wear the most? I mostly wear black or grey.  Or stripes.  Do stripes count as a color? haha.

6::If you could have any hair color what color would that be? It's not a secret that I someday would like to have brown hair for a little while.  Mostly just for kicks.  I just need EVERYONE to stop telling me that i'm "just a blonde."  If they didnt' tell me that, I would probably try it.

7::Another two parter...a. what is your favorite book? b. a book you want to read? I honestly wish I made more time to read books let alone read one twice.  I read a lot but it's usually news articles.  However, I do love reading!  The last books I read and really enjoyed was the Hunger Games Series.  I want to read SO many books.  But the other day I was browsing the E books on iTunes and I really want to read Tiny Fey's "Bossypants." Don't judge.

8::If you could hang out with ANYone for the day who would it be? {don't choose someone you know personally, boring!} After going through a process of elimination between Kathie Lee and Hoda during the 4th hour or Ellen, I've decided that I'd have to go with Ellen! And here's why. I just love her.  And of course I would want to hang out with her on set of a day she tapes with Zac Efron or something.. yep.  That would be a dream.  Gah.  But now I'm going back with some pros of KLG and Hoda.  Eek.  I'll just do both, thanks.

9::What talent or skill do you wish you possessed? Beat boxing or hip hop dancing.  Straight up.

10::What 3 things would you grab at the gas station when stopping on a road trip? Usually bottled water, licorice and peach rings.

11::What's something that drives you absolutely nuts? This one's hard.  I'm going to pick two.  I can't stand clutter, and I can't stand when people don't communicate how they really feel or say what they really think.

Another Wednesday.

"Are you famous?  Are you Drama? OH man, that kid looks like Ice Cube.  NO!.. Joe Rogan.  Drama and Joe Rogan!!"
-Some random kids to Jared and Cole
On the real, Jared does kind of does look like Drama AKA Chris Pfaff but Coleman doesn't look anything like Joe Rogan and definitely doesn't look like Ice Cube. haha.  Basically..someone was on drugs when they made that comment.

"Liz. Tell us about this Tennis Party because we don't get it."
-Nieko
At first read, if you don't know Nieko, the above comment might seem a little "Meh, whatever." But I love when he makes comments like this because he's 100% serious and really just wants people to explain the things that are.... strange.  haha so instead of asking what they did at the Tennis party he was like like "I don't get it."  I laughed.

"Willy, we still need to make out..Let's get on that."
-Jess
Sure, she was joking but not one of us at that table or any of us this entire summer were joking about the fact that we wanted/want them to kiss. haha.  I think I've probably explained why in a previous post.

"I want to loose weight.  OK, mostly just because hot guys hang out at the gym."
-Girl to another girl in Relief Society
Get real, girl friend.  Just go to the gym.

"Hey there Doll Face.  How you doin'?" -Kid to me at FHE
"ummm.? Hi." -Me *praying that I didn't insert too much of a scowl/eye roll
......
"Don't worry, I have pet names for the Bishop too that make his wife blush." -Same kid
I know that he was just doing that and saying those things because I was sitting by myself at that exact moment and he wanted some way to come up and start talking to me.  But seriously? I honestly couldn't even strike up a conversation after that because it was so weird.  DOLL face?  neat. Get steppin.

"No Swearing" -Zip line worker
"Oh I'm sorry."
"hahahaha. I don't give a Shi[z]" -Zip line worker
Classic. Acting like you're offended to make the "offender" feel like crap before they plummet to their "death" on a freaky zip line. Awesome. I honestly didn't think twice about him kidding because well, lots of people get offending by the dumbest things around here and they like to voice their opinion and make you feel like the word I accidentally used above.  Good thing he finally laughed and told me he was kidding though...Because I did feel bad.  Stinkin' cute zip line worker.

"We should make Mason a zombie for Halloween." -me
"No. That's gross. I will never let him be anything gross for Halloween." -Jamie
"What if one day he says, "Mom I want to be Jason for Halloween.  Or Freddy Kreuger." -Me
"Then I'd be like, "OK! you can be a cute lion named Freddy Krueger:)" -Jamie
hahaha. I honestly doubt that Mason will ever ask if he can be those things for Halloween, [Unless I tell him to ask, which might happen] But when she said that I just pictured him being a little bit older.. like 8 or so and Jamie dressing him up as a Lion and him going around saying he was Freddy Krueger. Yeah, I'd make fun of him so FOR SURE and the kids at school would too.  You've got to let the kid be something creepy at least once in his life?!  I'm going to push for a year of ALL of us being Zombies.  Family Pics, anyone?

"That's an impressive story dude." -Calvin Calvin
"And in Black person that means, "Shut the eff up." -Easton to me.
hahahaha. First of all, I have to clear up that his name is legitimately Calvin Calvin.  WTF, right? Yeah.  Anyways, he said that to a kid who was talking about some family history story at Family Home Evening.  I don't know what it was about because I really wasn't listening.  But I think Easton summed up what Calvin was probably thinking.   I could hear it in his voice.   The kid DID need to shut up a little.

"I just sent you one and it's probably not appropriate."
-Jamie about sending her first emoji.
I was talking to Jamie on the work phone and was showing her how to do Emoticon's on her iPhone.  Once she got it downloaded she sent me one that Nieko and I actually use sometimes... It's the symbol that means Cancer (Like Capricorn and Sagitarious...that kind of Cancer).  But before I explained it to her she laughed and said "Why would they even have this on here?!" That, of course led into the explanation and then into the story of the girl I met last summer who had that symbol tattooed on her wrist.  If you don't know what I'm talking about and you haven't googled it already, and you don't remember the Druggy Megan story then.. the Symbol looks like 69.  haha. Real mature, right?

haha. 69. smh. Funny.

(Eek.  IF only blogger could read emojis.  I just thought of a few I would insert here.)

Don't mind the vent sesh about stuff that will probably die down tomorrow morning.

Thinking that things would sort of slow down after our family trip to California was wishful thinking.  I could blame it on the fact that I'm quickly approaching 25 so I just can't keep up these days, but I'm not quite sure that the age thing is the problem.

As I woke up this morning, thinking about getting out of bed to prepare for church, I couldn't stop thinking about how negative I've felt over the last couple of weeks, even though I'm surrounded by so many positive/great things.  After last night when I had to apologize to a few people for being grumpy--I knew it was bad.

Here's my explanation.

For the past year and a half I've been this person of consistency in a life that I really do love.  I've done essentially the same things, with just about the same people everyday, gotten an average of 5 hours of sleep a night (if I'm lucky), woken up at about 6:15 every morning, taken my 30 minute commute to work on the weekdays, called my sister and mom everyday (usually more than once), eaten the same kind of lunches while trying to catch up on my blog and news updates, listened to the same kind of bull from whoever, commuted home from work at about 4:30, grocery shopped once a week, tried to clean up a little from the night before, tried to find times to watch some of my TV shows as a way to relax, entertained more people....tried to catch my breath and then started all over again..

Don't get me wrong...I have a pretty great life and I love doing all of the things I listed above.  But it sometimes gets a little overwhelming.  I think that's why I was so excited for the California trip.   I was getting a week away from my "groove" so I thought that when I got back I would be less annoyed with others and myself and ready for another few months before having a mini crazy Jenn moment.

I think the straw that broke the camel's back was when the cops showed up to my front door last night because of a noise complaint from one of my neighbors because my apartment was a zoo of people cheering LOUDLY for a game that I wasn't even watching/yelling about.  That did it.  All of the things that I have been thinking for the last three weeks, and thought I'd expressed to some people just sort of spilled out in a not-so-nice way.

I was grumpy and you know what? I deserved to be a little, I think.  It's not like I just snapped..I've been blogging, going to bed early when people are still at my house, and making comments for the last couple of weeks about the fact that I've just been feeling a little off and I guess I must not be making myself clear.  So here it is:

Plain and simple--Sometimes, I don't like people coming over.  Sometimes, I want to have that option of staying home one night by myself.  However, I don't get that choice because people are always here.  Which, isn't just everyone else's fault.  I get that.   It just makes it hard when you are the only one with your own place and you're in a different stage of life than all of your friends.

This isn't the only thing that's been bugging me, and I really don't blame anyone in particular..but I've realized that it's something that needs to change so that I can make some changes for myself personally.  Like, how do I expect to take care of my health if I don't have the time and how am I supposed to do all these things in my life that I used to have as goals if I'm not making the time for them?

It's all about priorities and let's be honest, my social life is one of those priorities, but I've decided that I'm just going to have to start making some rules so that I can be a more sane, balanced person.  Like, if people are coming over and I want to go to bed early, I guess I will just have to tell them in advance.  And for goodness sakes, I'm just going to have to start saying No sometimes because clearly, the eye rolling, fits and acting annoyed doesn't get through to some people.  Hmmm.  I need to figure out what I need to do so that I don't become that grumpy/annoyed person because that's not fair to the people I'm around.  It's rude.

Now I'm just venting about something that probably doesn't seem like a big deal.  But that's what personal journal blogs are for I guess!  At the end of the day, I'm just trying to figure out how I can be a happier Jenn.

So that's where I am right now.  Trying to catch my breath, and honestly at the same time having a lot of fun with people I love.  I'm just going to have to try not to be paranoid about having people over and being loud in the apartment because I don't want those cops showing up again.  That was uncomfortable :/

So if any of my friends around here read this... (most of you who do, "get" me so you already understand) but If I say I want to go to bed, I want to go to bed.  If I say we need to be quiet, then I'm not kidding.  Like I've said before.. I don't kid about stupid stuff like that.  Why people think I'm joking most of the time is beyond me. haha.  I usually say what I think.  Oh and let's be a little more creative and come up with other things than "chill at jenn's every night" It's getting old for me so I would imagine it is for you too. I apologize if I was rude the other night.  I'm just doing what everyone else is trying to do--Taking life one step at a time and trying to figure out what the crap I'm doing.

Oh and P.S --You're awesome. Loves--xoxo

Wednesday's Quotes and Such...2 Weeks

So I'm sorry that this might seem like a Tracy Hansen edition.  But I was with my family all week so that's just what you get :)  But here are just the quotes that I've collected over the last two weeks since I was out all last week :

"I showed you mine, now you show me yours!"
-Easton to Jared about his butt.
You know you've just been on Chatroulette, or on it too much, when something like that comes out of your mouth.  bahahahaha.

"Did you see what Julene got herself for her birthday?!" -Me
"oh wow. A Big Mac?!" -Cole
What he really meant to say was "iMac".  I giggled.

"#Tree"
-Jared
First we gave the kid crap for not having a smart phone.. then we give him crap for not knowing how to use it.  But Nieko and I just about lost it when he posted literally the crappiest blurry pic of a tree and just hashtagged #TREE.  No other comment. nothing.  Just the hastag.  Best.thing.everr.

"Shut the [H] up, woman."
-Dad
you would think that my dad has something against women or something because I'm pretty sure this same quote has made this segment in the past.  On the real, he didn't mean it... (for the most part. haha) He's mostly just being funny when he says stuff like that because he knows that it cracks me up.

"Give me a bite of that chicken." -Mom
"Ummm. This is a cup of water." -me
hahaha Clearly she is blind without her glasses on.

"Did you just say crotch? That shouldn't come out of your mouth. I didn't raise you that way!"
-Mom to Cole
You would think that I edited that quote because "Crotch" isn't a bad word. haha. But I kid you not, my mom was like, so upset that Cole said the word crotch.  The funniest part is that this all went down after we had turned all the lights out in the hotel room while on our trip last week and were getting ready for bed.  Cole and I shared a bed and I think he was telling me that he was going to kick me in the crotch.  Either that or it was after he was quoting Step Brothers.  Of course we always keep it going because ticking mom off is super funny. Classic.

"Let's make like a whale and blow this hole."
-Dad
He thought he was quoting Cole who earlier said, "Let's blow this whale hole,"  So Dad thought he was being pretty cool.  I got a kick out of it.

"Cole, Plank this! Plank that. Cole, cole! Plank that cannon, plank this bench...plank..."
-Dad after finding out about planking.
I'm serious, my dad thought it was so funny.  So for about 10 minutes after he was introduced to this new thing, he wanted Cole to plank EVERYTHING in Disneyland. Cole did not.  But when he did plank the huge lego piece inside of the LegoLand store.  That was funny.  The workers even laughed.

"It's like a good Bidet."
-Dad about the World of Color water show at California Adventure.
hahaha. OK, so everyone else sees this water show that is like the Bellagio times 100 and thinks "Oh how Magical! I love princesses and Disney" and stuff and Tracy thinks about toilets and junk.  #freakinweirdo

"I've been 'liking' a lot of cat pictures lately."
-Jason, the Asian friend I was telling you about.
I've told him over and over again that cats just really creep me out and I just think they are really weird.  Jason loves them.  In fact, he "likes" pictures of them on facebook all the time and puts them on the background on his phone.  I'm not judging him.  Actually, I find his fascination with felines to be quite hilarious.  But don't get me started on the whole grudge thing.  I shouldn't have told him that I think he looks like that little Asian boy on that movie.  He creepily meows at me now.  NIGHTMARE

"Hey! What are you doing over there all by yourself!?" -Erin, the relief society president shouting across the field at the tri-ward FHE.
"TWEETING!" -me
"You're Tweeting? (haha) Well, at least you're cute!" -Erin...Still shouting.
I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but thank you for pointing out that I was sitting by myself at that moment, Tweeting ...and then shouting "at least you're cute" so that everyone can hear. Like I question that or something?  haha. jk She's seriously so funny and nice. But it was a little awkward.

"Are you making dipping sauce?"
-Jason
Only an Asian would call SALSA, "dipping sauce." Right? Bahahaha omg. I can not...He then went on to tell me that he doesn't really like Mexican food, but ate some of the salsa and said it was good.  That kid. haha. smh.

"We prefer Armani." -Jamie talking about clothes for me to get Mason
"Is Gucci OK?" -Me
"Yeah, that will work." -Jamie
We play make believe on the phone sometimes and it's fun. The best part is that we act like we are serious for a while until we bust up laughing.  haha I mean, like we'd ever buy that for a baby... haha I mean, at all. There I go again.

[don't worry that I had to leave out two of the things my dad said because they were a little inappropriate. Yeah, My dad. smh. Jesh.  I will just say that one of them had to do with the Toy Story Character, Woody.  I'm sure you can see where he went with that... Get real, dad :) ]

OHH OHHH It's Magic :)

I'm BAAAAACK (omg, do you remember that Dinosaur movie "We're Back?" Yeah, I totally got it in the 5 dollar bin at Walmart a while back. Don't hate.).  But honestly it feels like forever since I've posted.  Reality--It's only been about a week and a half, but oh boy has this girl been busy.

Disneyland with the family was so much fun!  I think I mentioned before that this was the first family trip since the 'Hansen 5' added a James, a Regan and a baby Mason.  Actually, this is the first real family vacation that we were all together outside of Idaho and Utah since I was like 12 or something.  No joke.  There was just never time for family vacations growing up since we were fully invested in showing animals at the fair.  So, really this Disneyland trip was major for us.  Haha.  Not only would we all be together but we were getting on a plane and going somewhere.  Yeah, I know.  Big time ;)

I was actually a little nervous getting ready for this trip.  I didn't know how Disneyland would be with a baby and I honestly didn't know how everyone's conflicting personalities would get along in a crazy place like Disneyland.  I especially didn't know how my dad would be since he never really leaves his animals unless it's for a couple nights to visit Cole and I in Utah or to go hunting.  Yeah, I was a little nervous.  Sure, there were times where I was like "umm. ok." But really, it was so much fun because at the end of the day, we are family.

First off, can I just say that my parents are so funny?! I didn't do a Wednesday Witty Words post this last week because I was on a plane and didn't have my laptop with me, BUT pretty sure I could do a Tracy Hansen segment.  The stuff that comes out of his mouth is so funny.  I really just love my parents. They're a good time. (PS. I'm just going to combine the last two weeks into one post tomorrow:))

Let's talk Disney.  It was hot.  Good thing I love getting sun, so I didn't mind.  However, I think I was expecting less people because I thought some people would be in school or something.  Nope.  Everyone had the same idea we did.. plus, it was a holiday weekend so whatever.  I'm just trying to figure out how I ever did Disneyland in a Day because we did a 3 day hopper pass this time and we still didn't get around to everything.  I'm sure we would have but taking a baby with you is a different experience.  I'm not complaining, I love Mason more than anything so having him there with us and seeing him enjoy the rides and the magic of that place was so fun. It's just hard when it's so hot...and, well, babies have different schedules than adults.  So yes, there were some naps, some frustrations and  some early lunches/dinners.  All in all, we made it work and it was great!

James and Jamie paid for our Disney tickets as our Christmas gifts. Ummm, Best Sister and Brother in Law award? Yeah, pretty much!

He loved minnie

Ok, Cars Land.  Fabulous.  You honestly feel like you are walking right through the movie, it's THAT awesome.  The not so awesome part?  120 minute waits for the Radiator Springs Racer ride.  yeah, Count us out.  No way, I was going to wait that long. However, just walking around Cars land was so fun.  I'm still amazed at how they did it all. It's FAB.

omg. I love my family.

I spent a lot of time with Mason on the trip. You know that I love him...that's nothing new.  But I equally enjoyed spending more time with Regan on this trip.  She is 100% my niece and I love her.

My mom and I were talking on the trip one day and we decided that it honestly didn't matter what rides we went on or what we did on the trip, it was just nice being all together in one place.  I mean, even when we are home, Dad or Jamie and James are working, or there is always something that someone has to do... on this trip, it was just us spending time together as a family.  That's what it was all about.

We laughed a lot, got super tired feet, argued a minimal amount, shopped, went on rides, watched TV on the hotels, watched lots of beautiful fireworks, ate too much and then justified it for all the walking we were doing....haha. It was a great trip!
--------------------------------------------------------------
After we finally landed back in Utah on Wednesday, there was no time to relax.  I quickly had to unpack my bag, do laundry and pack again.  I decided to get up at 3 am so I could be out the door by 4:00am to head to Rexburg for Savanna and B's wedding.  The wedding didn't start at the Temple until 11 but I realized that I wouldn't really get to talk to her much so I decided to surprise her and showed up at Reflections for her hair appointment at 7 AM.  I'm so glad I did! I was able to sit and chat with her for a couple of hours while she got her hair done.  Oh, and I got us some Cinnamon rolls across the street at Great Harvest that were basically the size of our faces.  nbd.

I was a little nervous about the temple because, being a bridesmaid/basically maid of honor (as the photographer called me :) haha) I really needed to have my dress for the temple.  Well, there was some confusion and my dress wasn't quite ready.  In fact, Mariah had to safety pin the side of the dress so that I could be in the pictures as planned.  omg.  I will just tell you it was kind of a nightmare.  However, you couldn't really tell, and I'm sure the pics will turn out just great (fingers crossed).

I held her flowers and waited for Savanna to come out of the temple as Mrs. Taylor!  I can't even put into words how beautiful she looked and how happy they looked as they walked out of that beautiful temple.  There were so many people there in support of them and I know she appreciated that a lot.  Everything just seemed to go so great (bridesmaid dress problem aside.) It was just a perfect day.  Even the cloudy weather that brought rain later on, made for Fabulous pictures.  Awww. I'm just so happy for them.  I love love.  And honestly, It made me think a lot more about what I want in a husband maybe someday.  And for me, that's pretty huge.

Then it was on to the luncheon and then off to Parma that night for another weekend with my Family and Savanna's reception on Saturday. I just love spending time with family.  And truly, the Blaylocks are my second family.  OH, and I finally met Hyrum and Emma's baby, Grace.  What a fun thing to witness.  To see my best friend from High School and College hold his little baby girl.  Wow.  Tear to the eye, so cute!

Really, what a fun week!

Now, I'm just trying to get caught up on sleep and getting back to my adult (almost 25) adult life.

omg.

2 more sleeps til sanity and a little Aretha.

It's a good thing I'm going on a Vacation for a week because last night I realized that I'm starting to get annoyed by just about everything and, let's be honest, no one should want to be around me when I'm like that.  Heck, I don't even like me when I act like that.  This, of course, makes me more annoyed because I am annoyed at myself for being so annoyed. ugh.  It's really annoying..:)

Getting away is just the thing I need, so I'm counting down the days (2 more sleeps) until I can get on a plane and get a way for a bit with the family and finally take some time to breathe.

They say that you are always in complete control of the way that you react to things and I totally get that.  But sometimes it's really hard to stay positive, cheery, and happy when you are surrounded by all kinds of idiots and douche bags.  Alright, alright, I'm kidding (a little).  That's just what I think sometimes when I get really annoyed.  But really, after finally taking a deep breath this morning, I've realized that it's in those moments when I'm about to explode and go on yet another one of my rants, that I figure out that it's not worth it because it just makes me more annoyed.  That I really am in complete control of my attitude. *shocker*

There were multiple things that set me off last night but now that I look back I know that really, I could have just gone to bed (with out being a raging B to everyone in sight) and said more clearly, "I just need to go to bed... come back any other night, but tonight, I'm spent" because, I guess my "I'm super annoyed and just want to go to bed" act doesn't always to the trick.  Why?! Because people think I'm just kidding or being dramatic.  Umm..for future reference I'm usually not kidding and if I am kidding, you will hear me laugh or really verbalized that "I'm just kidding." k?

But there is a little part of me that loves that I can call someone a pretty rude name to their face and proclaim that I'm going to shoot myself if they don't shut up during my shows (because their rude DB comments are making me go out of my mind) and they will STILL sit there and joke around.  I feel like that means that I'm an inviting person or that people thing I'm just all around nice or something?  hmmm... I have a love/hate relationship with those qualities.

Despite the fact that I woke up annoyed and have decided that I'm over it.. here are just two things about me, that if everyone understood, the world of Jenn would be a happier place.

1.) I'm kind of a neat freak.  Closet and junk drawer aside, I like to have things in order, I hate clutter, and I especially don't like when the kitchen is dirty and when dishes just sit in the sink.  This leads me to the fact that I am a little OCD and have some weird quirks.  Like when things aren't in order I sometimes actually panic.  I really can't explain the way it feels but I hate it.  It's kind of like my sock thing or the whole thing about people handing me electronics and how I, 9 times out of 10, have to touch the other person before I take it.  All these things are weird, and I'm trying to get over them and the fact that not everyone is going to understand and tailor their habits to fit my craziness (with the whole clean and in order thing). Like I said, I'm trying. But if people would just understand that more, then I would probably be more relaxed with people.  It's OK, I'm working on having more patience with people :)

2.) I have the HARDEST time with people who don't treat others as equals or don't respect others.

--"Yes, I am a women--NO, that does not mean I am your slave.  Just because I make the dinner, does that mean that I have to clean it up by myself?" (And i'm not talking about Coleman because honestly, I've trained him to clean up after himself, or at least to keep it out of the public areas of the apartment.)

--"Just because someone believes something differently or is a little different than you, doesn't mean you have to rudely vocalized that you are right and they are wrong."

-"This is my house, don't shoot those things in here. "PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF"

yada yada.  These are all thoughts that I had last night and they all come down to respect.  There isn't a lot of it these days..  My whole annoying night started when a kid asked me last night if I wanted a cookie when I made a point about making dinner AND cleaning it all up by myself.  yeah.. it happened. I could go off about how I feel about women's rights and what I think about the men who treat women like that, but I won't.

All I have to say is that I sincerely LOVE doing things for people that I love.  I love cooking people dinner, throwing parties and I will even clean up after people or buy them things, I enjoy doing that! I just don't like when people don't help out or act like they are entitled to everything.  When people don't have respect for the things that people do for them or take advantage of other people, that is when I have the problem.

So, after a night of annoyance and enlightenment, I've decided that really...I only need to enforce one little word in my little apt to keep me less annoyed and everyone a happier camper.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T
respect me
respect my shiz.
respect women.
respect beliefs.
respect each other.

Tip--To Respect someone: Find out why they are they way that they are.  Really get to know them...their quirks, their ticks ect.  I promise that will make your relationship with them 10 times stronger because you will just "get" them and most importantly--You'll just know when to back off ;)

keeping it random

Remember how I'm random? Oh yeah..

I decided to stop following my Real Housewives gossip stuff on Twitter.  I found that their tweets were crowding my feed and guess.what?  I was skipping over them. Yes. I, Jennifer Hansen, was skimming over them.  That's a huge deal for me!  I actually feel kind of accomplished.  I guess that's what happens when you go without Bravo for a month.  I'll admit that I was sad to be losing the channel but part of me has been wanting that for sometime.  I mean, at least I still have 'E', right?!

We Redboxed the movie 'Silent House' the other night.  You know, that one with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's younger, not as pretty, sister?  yeah, that one.  Well, I actually liked it.  It was weird, sick, twisted, and little creepy.  [you know how I do.]  Yes, it was rated R.  And I would tell you why I think it's rated R (because, let's get real, it only says on F Word in it) but I can't tell you because that would ruin it.  (Oh great, that made me sound like a freak.) But honestly, you wouldn't even think it was Rated R and I don't say that about many movies aside from War ones....Rent it, don't rent it.  I don't care. Moving on.

I woke up with a baby sore throat yesterday morning.  I thought it would be a one day thing.  Yeah, no.  I still have it. ummm. fml. All I have to say is that it better be better in a week from today because I REFUSE to be sick for this family trip that has been planned for months.

Once again I've found myself questioning what is normal.  Not because I think that I'm not  normal or that I really care but isn't the idea of "normalcy" a mind blowing topic to anyone else? I mean, I honestly don't care what people really think but sometimes I wonder, Am I normal or is everyone else normal and I'm the weird one and no one is telling me? Meh.  Sometimes my mind gets carried away.  But honestly, after doing ChatRoullete the other night with a couple of friends I've realized that I HAVE to be the normal one in the world.  haha. jk. But really, there are a lot of sick freaks out there.  Not that I'm judging or whatever.. ;) (but really, don't get on there..)

I've always said that me and  elderly folk" don't mix.  So I was called to the Activities committee in my new ward last week and for our activity we went to an Assisted Living Center last night to visit with some of the residents this week.  I think I understand why I said that we don't mix for so many years.  Plain and simple, I get attached to people way too easily.  I mean, you go, you meet a cute little 97 year old lady by the name Iona, you talk, she laughs and thinks are are the cutest, funniest girl and then... she dies.  Yes, that's me being dramatic and she really didn't die but it's true.  I just don't think I'm cut out for the death thing yet.   I have my beliefs about what happens after our earthly life and that knowledge is a great blessing but it's not what happens for the people who die that freaks me out.  It's the people left behind.  It's like... omg.. never mind.  Really, the thought of all of it gives me anxiety.  Basically what I'm saying is that I had a great time visiting with them (and making a fool out of myself singing an old girl's camp  song about a banjo because the chairperson didn't have anything planned), but thinking about how old (legit fear #1) and lonely (legit fear #2) they are?...well, I just can't handle it.  It's really just the after part that gets me so worked up.  Clearly.

I  want to try to go back once a month though.  Because, despite the whole over thinking/freaking out thing that I do afterward, I really enjoyed my time with them.  They are so cute and funny!  I will have a few quotes for you on Wednesday :)  And even though some of them probably have people who visit them often, I just can't help but feel heartbroken over the thought that any of them feels alone...It's already enough that they have to be sad about being old!!  There I go, 25 and feeling like I relate to a 97 year old.  I need to get a grip. haha

I'm starting to get excited for our little trip next week.  Not because it's supposed to be the Happiest place on the planet but just because I'm excited to get away and just be with my family for a little bit. If I can kick this cold that is.

So Sav and B are getting married in less than two weeks.  I really can't believe it!  Time just goes by so fast.  I've been working on their slide show and I just can help but tear up.  I just love how in love they are.  It's adorbs.  Honestly, in general, seeing people that I love be in love makes me so happy.

omg.. it's almost 2 and I haven't showered.  (Random enough for you?) kBYE!
