My Mom Thinks I'm Pretty Special :)

The past few days have been great. I've had more social interaction with friends than I've had in the last two weeks and I've also been able to hang out with my mom and dad! With Mother's Day today I decided to really observed my mom closely. I've always known that my mom loves me without a doubt, but today I had another big reassurance of how much love she has for me, Coleman and Jamie--A LOT.

She texts me almost everyday we are apart and tells me she loves me and wishes me a good day. She always prays for me (and gets more nervous about things only I should be nervous for). Oh, and she wears this necklace with our names on it because she loves us so much. She really always thinks about us and she cries every time we have to leave to go back to our lives away from our home. She is the most caring and understanding person.

I love my mother more than she probably knows!

It should be illegal.

Last night was Mariah 18th birthday party! She's been my work buddy at Rocky Mountain Fireworks for the past two summers. She's a senior in high school and about to graduate soon. Since I'm home for the weekend and Hyrum is home for the summer we've been hanging out a lot trying to fill the void from our lack of a social life for the past month. Well, Hyrum and I started a game of Fugitive with all of these HS kids (probably about 15 of them). Long story short, we chased them across town and supposedly some of them were wondering about town past curfew and a cop came to the house. BAHAHA. Funny stuff.

Well, the above synopsis of the night doesn't have anything to do with what I believe should be illegal (like was referenced in the blog title) because I know we broke a few tiny laws playing Fugitive. Whatever. What SHOULD be illegal, however, is how cute a few of her high school friend were. I'm not even joking. It's even worse than the whole realization I had to go through with Justin Beiber.... except for these were seniors who were most likely 18... That's beside the point. I was like, "Mariah, you need to hook up with HIM!" and then I spent a while trying to convince her that she liked one of them haha. (just ask Hyrum, I'm pretty good at making people believe that they like someone even though they really don't. haha. I just have too much fun with it.) Anyways, Hyrum was asking a truth or truth question after the party kids left about who she would kiss out of two of the cute boys and I IMMEDIATELY answered. That was followed with something like: "Opps. That question was referred to Mariah and not me wasn't it? ummm.. I didn't realize I was talking out loud. Forgive me..."

My Dad Was/Is a Stud

Continuing with the trend of going through old stuff this weekend I hit the jack pot, again! No, it's not another 8-track tape or money for that matter. But I found all of my Dad's old year books from Notus High School along with newspaper clippings my grandma saved and some of his mission stuff and pictures!

The first thing I did was dig into the old year books! Where better to find information about someone's past than in their year book? (Ok, maybe a journal would have been better, but this is next best!) And don't pretend that you haven't read someone's personal stuff before. I know we've all done it. Some maybe more than others, but still, this was my Dad! It doesn't count.

Well I spent a good hour going through his stuff. I found out that he was a little player on and off the basketball court! haha. I loved reading the mushy stuff from his senior year especially from one girl (who is actually my aunt's sister and we see her all of the time!) bahahahah. It's good stuff. Way good.

The best part was going through all of the newspaper clippings. My dad was a star on the basketball team. Yeah, it was Notus High but still. Almost every article talked about how my dad was the high scorer of the game and how he was 6 ft 6 and the other teams worked hard to block him. I could just tell that he really loved basketball and was really good at it!

This got me thinking. I hope that someday when my kids go through all of my stuff that they think I am as cool as I think my dad is :) We can only hope. Oh man, I better go through my stuff and rig it now. haha. Just kidding. I was cool. ish.

1979 Called..It wants its 8-track back.

Have you ever walked down the aisles of D.I and wondered where all of the old crap really comes from? Seriously. I ask myself that every time I'm there. Like who could possibly have been saving all of this crap and then finally decide one day: "oh hey, I think I'll get rid of this...31 YEARS LATER!!"

Well, tonight I was helping my mom sort through some old stuff and we found a Blondie 8-Track Tape. I KID YOU NOT. This helped answer my D.I inquiry. The fact is, sometimes you just find hidden old crap years later that you have to get rid of. That's where the D.I comes in. And that's where some people find great treasures (really though, some of my friends find the coolest stuff there.. I'm not patient or brave enough.)

When my mom pulled out this 8-track, I kind of freaked out a little. First, because we didn't know it was hidden where we found it and second, because I'm OBSESSED with music and I really hadn't seen one before. Let's just say I'm grateful for mp3's.. CD's even :)

BTW.. You won't be seeing this 8-track at the D.I for a while. I smuggled it from my mom ;) haha.

I love Home!

Just got back from lunch at Applebee's and Happy Hour at Sonic with Hyrum. Lets just say.. I ALWAYS have the best time with Hy. I haven't laughed like that for a while. Maybe it's because I haven't had the best social life for the past few weeks... nahhh it's been a month since we've seen each other and well, NEVER a dull moment with that boy :)

Todays events: Hot Gossip, Catching Up, Over-Exaggeration (we round up on everything), a little job hunting talk, plans for my own MTV reality show called "the lake," ohh and we visited the place where we first became REAL friends (bahaha)!

I love being at home and spending time with people I love!

Ohhh yeah I want to give a Happy Anniversary shout out to my mom and dad:)
Going to dinner with them tonight. Love you guys!

My Mother Didn't Even Care.

I just got home a few hours ago and naturally the first thing I did was start cleaning (trying to get ready for James to come to Parma). Well I was cleaning my mom's bathroom and let's just say one of her cupboards hadn't been cleaned out in a long time (I found a couple perm's in there .. haha) well I found this tube of fake blood and so of course I had to test it out. I put the blood on my hand and without hesitation ran into the living room with a panicked look on my face. My mom shot up out of her seat and screamed. Not just a freaked out "omg" kind of thing.. she screamed bloody murder! I laughed, showed her the tube of fake blood I found and then she was like "ohhh I didn't even care about the blood I just thought you had a snake or something!" REALLY MOM? I could have been dying.. Care a little more please!

Maybe she didn't really believe me because I sometimes tend to over-react...a little. Like the time I stepped on a mouse with my bare foot. (worst thing ever. now I'm terrified of mice.) If you don't know the story well.. we probably haven't gotten that far in our relationship. ugh I just got the chills thinking about it. good story though.

WARNING: Fake Blood totally dyes your skin..
TIP: Bleach takes it right off.

Dreams

I've been having some weird dreams lately. I mean, my dreams are usually weird but these have been sufficiently weird.

In the past week I've had dreams that consisted of me running away from a murder, being a victim of a hit and run, and trying to save some of my friends from being killed. Weird, right? Well I've always been one to love scary movies so I'm totally down with the whole running away from the killer and being heroic saving my BFF's. However, the thing that bothers me the most is that the villain, or bad man if you will, in each of these dreams is the same man...uuggggg. CREEPED.

On a less creepy note (haha) the other night I had a dream that I moved into this house of all guys with Hyrum and Alex and this random mexican kid that I used to always see on campus. LOL. And we all treated it like it was completely normal. omg. Can you imagine? FUNNNNNY DREAM! bahahaaha.

I don't know where this stuff comes from but it's all pretty entertaining.
