I love tiny things.

I was searching for a "mini pig in a blanket" recipe for my first Layton Birthday party I'm throwing on monday (I know, who needs a recipe for that.. but I had a legit reason) and as I was typing it into google, I got to "Mini pig..." and a bunch of pictures of teacup pigs came up.

OMG.

Normally I'm opposed to house pets... I mean, I like pets, I just wouldn't want them in my home for numorous reasons (no offense to the billions of pet owners who differ) but for some reason I adore these tea cup pigs. I went through a phase a couple of years ago where I wanted one so bad. Of course I would never get one.. it goes back to the whole "house pet" thing but still. They are strangely adorable. I just want to pick one up and carry it around in my pocket.

I wish I could buy one and keep it at a friends' house or something and just go visit once a week or something. ugh! THAT would be the perfect pet scenario. That way it's getting love during the week but then I still get to enjoy it.

hmm..... I guess I'll just stick to the mini "pig in a blanket" instead.

High Expectations.

WHen I was little if someone said something rude to me I would always stomp off and go to my room or go outside for a walk...usually crying. Of course, my hope would be that the particular person who ticked my off and was rude would follow me to apologize. There were quite a few times when I would end up just falling asleep because no one came. I mean, do these people not understand me? I suppose I have high expectations. But really I think they know me but they stopped following me because I did it a lot and they were sick of playing that game with the drama queen.

Last night I ended up going to my room at like 9:30 because I was upset/ticked about something the brother said to me... dumb of course. I thought.. Oh, well maybe he will realize that I'm super ticked off and come in and apologize. Didn't happen. Again, he's been my brother for 20+ years, he knows how I am.

I fell asleep ticked but mostly because I was so easily offended and I don't like getting in tiffs with anyone. In fact, I woke up thinking that my day was going to be awful because we weren't going to talk. I was getting ready to walk out the door and I saw this...

Yes, My brother is one of my Best Friends and silly me to think that a stupid thing would last longer than one night, it never does. Sometimes we say things that we don't mean to the people who mean the most to us.. it just happens but it's reassuring to know that my family will always be there for me no matter what. They know me. They love me even though I'm crazy sometimes. I love them terribly and wouldn't be the person I am without them. They mean the world to me and nothing can and will ever change that. The end.

Happy Hour?

Today I got asked by my contact in DC if I would fly over for Happy Hour. I considered it. If only I had a private jet...and drank. Dang.

Speaking of drinking...

What was Rhinana thinking when she slipped this little number on for the grammys?

It's said to be the most controversial dress of the night. Of course it was. It was SHEER. Hmm..I loved her other dress she wore performing with Emeniem but this one....No words.

I figured wearing my red heels would show that I care.

This morning I woke up ready for a great Valentines Day. Just because I don't have a "significant other" doesn't mean it can't be Fab, right? So I slipped on the red heels, fastened my heart studded earrings real tight and pulled my hair into a side bun (yes, it's getting kind of long...) I figured it would show that I care about this day...

Even though I've been crazy busy and work today (blogging at lunch) and for a minute caught myself thinking of all of the different word alternatives for barf(there are a ton) in reference to everyone talking about their vday dates, flowers and possible proposals...I choose to only write positive things on this lovely day of Love. Here are just a couple of things I've been thinking about today that I love:

I love that my mom always sends me a Valentines Day Package which, in fact, is waiting in my mailbox for me when I get home. Mommies are the best.

I love my family and I'm excited we all get to be together this weekend!

I love my Friends... I've decided I have some of the best in the world. There's alway some kind of Drama going on in their lives but I love that we can come to eachother with anything.

I love that I have a great job that challenges me and is preparing me for a great future.

I love music.

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I love my Savior.

Oh and I love that my manager gave me a box of conversation hearts that says "DIVA" on the box... haha. What is that supposed to mean? LOL.

Sure, Valentines day, I'm not going to hate on you at all. I've decided that tonight I'm going to celebrate V-day by tanning after work followed with picking up dinner for the Bro and I, and watching our (I mean, MY) shows...all of which are centered on "love" of ALL kinds. See, I'm not bitter. I love, love :)

"I feel icky and just want my mom cd"

Even if you've never seen Garden State, you should really check out the soundtrack. It's probably the only album that i've listened all the way through over 100 times. No kidding. In college I mostly liked to listen to it while doing homework. There is just something about the album that is so relaxing. Yes, it's music from 2004 but it's the goods.

Now that I don't have homework (totally not complaining about it), and for some reason my body decided to go icky on me...*yes, I'm getting sick*...I've decided that this is the ultimate "I feel icky and just want my mom cd." My lack of sleep this weekend and the cold Rexburg weather could have contibuted to my sore throat and all around ickyfeeling-ness but for some reason laying in bed and putting on this cd made everything feel OK as I drifted to sleep last night...

oh and don't worry that a couple of years ago I had my first real connection with Zac Efron when I read that his favorite music was "anything from the Garden State Soundtrack." I know ladies, don't be jelly that we have something in common :)

Blame it on Olivia.

This week there was a topic on the radio that was all about Alter Egos. People called and texted in saying that when they have a little too much to drink their Alter Ego comes out...one guy called in and said that his alter ego was a asian women named Brenda. OK. Maybe they were smoking too? But really, what about the peeps who don't drink?

The whole ride to work I thought about myself and wondered if I had an alter ego I just didn't really pay attention to? Do I have a 'Sasha Fierce' or a 'Slim Shady' inside of me that tends to come out in certain situations that is a tiz out of my 'norm?' Of course I do.. I guess I just haven't embraced it by giving it a name. I didn't realize that so many people actually do!

Brittany Spears claimed, "whenever I feel like being mean or possibly bossing people around, it's kind of easier to be called Mona Lisa." hmmm...Ok, B. Spears, OK.

I've decided that I have one prominent alter ego that I wish to formally disclose and embrace for the first time: *note--If drunk people can blame their ridiculous actions on their "alter ego" then I choose to do the same... but it's just for funzies...I promise, I'm not TOTALLY crazy.*

Meet Olivia. Olivia hasn't ever been told by a doctor that she is obsessive complusive but sometimes goes through kicks where she is determined that she is. She can't STAND elictrical cords showing when they shouldn't be, wants everything to match or look close to perfect, has to do things a certain way, doesn't like clutter.. in fact she gets panicky when she's around it and is sometimes even brought to tears, and when she has her mind set on something she's set on doing them RIGHT then. She's a bit of mess. However, the good news is she's doing better. Olivia doesn't come out very often and she gets annoyed that she feels the way she does about stupid little things but really just can't help it. 2010 was the year for dominate apprerances of Olivia but she hasn't really made any big apprearance in the new year!

I don't really care for Olivia and her obsessive ways, but I'd say that we're friends. I try to support her and help her get through things when they are tough and I really do think she is doing better. I've learned things from her though... like how to put on a great party/event without the need for everything to be absoulutely perfect and without panicking. Really, I guess her and I make a great pair. She just has to be controlled every now and again. I've just taught her how important it is to just breathe!

Oh, and don't think that I'm crazy, I'm just having fun with that part of me that comes out every now and again and I really can't help it. It's not like I'm robbing banks and saying, "Oh, that wasn't me, it was Ruby... you know.. Ruby the Robber." That would be straight up crazy.

Think real hard... I know you have one too--A part of you that comes out now and again and does harmless things and you think "What the?" Give it name!

Highlights

Alright, so let's talk about some Highlights (not the highlights in my hair that NEED to be done ASAP or the highlights from the superbowl game) but the weekend highlights.

I seriously could go on and on about all of the fun that I had this weekend but instead, I will just mention the highlights:

1.) Meeting the BFF's GF. Love her and couldn't be more happy for them :)
2.) Seeing some of my favorite people in the world.
3.) Making some new friends!
4.) Mimcking Sammi from Jersey shore and secretly wishing that I had a Jersey accent for realsies.
5.) Laughing with Mariah, my Frezbian. "If I could wish for one thing, I'd wish to remember everything. *insert silence followed by extreme laughter*"
6.) Staying up late taking with Sav about drama and life in general :)
7.) Realizing that some changes are hard and seem like they are life ending, they really are the best thing.
8.) Going to a Canada Association mixer with Mandy and Cole. I've never been to Canada but can I just say that I love it.
9.) OMG, the fact that two of my best friends have good friends who can beat box and I met them both this weekend and both of their names started with a B. Seriously? There's just something about a beat boxer. I have a hint of obsession. I'm thinking that I need to change my name to something cool that starts with a B and then learning how to beat box. Do they have lessons in crap like that? If so, I'm IN :) We all know that break dancing is out of the question so my one last hope is beat boxing. It's on.
10.) My sister found out she's having a baby BOYYYY! I couldn't be more excited. Time to shop :) I've been having the weirdest baby dreams. Most of them including naming the baby and shopping for it. Now that it's confirmed to be a boy, all of my shopping dreams are that more fabulous.

uhhh if only I live NO minutes from these people. I love them. Thank goodness for fbook and texting!

omg, I just remembered an 11th highlight...

11.) Cinnimon Swirl bread for the Sacrament on Sunday. I have never in my 23 years of life seen anything like that. I mean, I've had stale bread, wheat bread, fancy multigrain but never Cinnimon Swirl and on FAST SUNDAY to say the least. For someone who was fasting and doesn't eat bread exept for at the sacrament... it was stangely phenomenal.

There are places I remember...

Today I'm making the drive to Rexburg to visit my past home of four years... these are only some of the things that I've missed that really encompass my love for that town:

However, I don't miss the freezing cold and wind.. I hope I'm prepared for that! Seriously, I can hardly wait to reminisce about good times in Rexburg, ID with GREAT friends.

Little House Guest.

So the brother has been living with me for a few weeks. I quickly went from being alone in this big apartment to having a little house guest. Alright, so he's not little... he's a big kid but he's younger than me and it's my apartment so I can call him little.

I couldn't be more happy to have a roommate that I love. It's much different than living with 5 other girls. A LOT different.

Pros (of course I'm sure this isn't with ALL boys...and yes, he is my brother):

1.)Less Drama
2.) Oh, I need help opening a jar.... "oh hey strong boy, open it!"
3.)No competition.
4.) If you're having a bad day you can come home and say, "I don't want to talk about it" without the other person thinking that you're mad at them and hurting their feelings!
5.)Guys are friends with other guys who then bring those guys over... joy.

Of course in the midst of all of the pros are some interesting things like:

1.) Constant gas. I swear, if it's not one end, it's the other.
2.) Sports on TV. I don't see what the big deal is?
3.) Hinting at hating some of the shows I watch... He doesn't fool me though. I've got him liking PLL, The Bachelor AND 90210... and that's not all, I'm sure he could tell you what is going on with the RHW of Beverly Hills and Atlanta. Just sayin.
4.) Bits of clutter. "Here, this is your drawer in the bathroom! Use it. Thanks :)"
5.) Video games. Another thing I've never understood.

I could call all of those last 5 things as "cons" but really, that's what makes it so interesting! I think it's teaching me a good lesson to be more patient and chill. I mean, when I first moved into this place I couldn't even handle the ONE cable cord that was showing. Now there are video game cords and I've learned to over look them. Weird how those little things matter less when you love someone. Even if it is your brother.

He's definitely on my top 5 of fave roomies :) haha. we have fun.

Synthesize Me.

I've decided that I should write a song and hit the recording studio right away. I mean, if Kim Zociack, Heidi Montag and EVEN Spencer Pratt can do it? Seriously! Why not?

If anyone has a good idea for a song that is more original than about "not being tardy for the party" (Don't get it twisted...I've had this song in my head all day) or about "going to work" (idk what "work" Spencer is even talking about), or about a ring that didn't mean a thing to you, then, by all means please let me know.

You can turn on the radio and see that the key to having a "hit" song is to come up with that one great line, phrase or the perfect combo of two or three words, put it with a nice beat and other words that probably don't make sense but sound good, and you've got yourself a hit song. OH, and if you're worried about not having a good voice? It doesn't matter.... they can just synthesize the crap out of your recording and you've got a "hit" track.

Need Proof?:

It's like "oh, I've got these lyrics to a song" and then WHAM they are on itunes? really?!

Don't worry, I've downloaded the "I AM T PAIN" app (the sweetest app for real) on my Touch, so I know that my voice sounds pretty good auto-tuned so I think I could make it big. I just need...well, the lyric part. Coleman suggested that it's got to say "Shawty" in there somewhere. Does he not know that I'm a caucasian woman?

Alright, so it's no really my dream to be a singers, even though I think it would be pretty cool to have a hit track on iTunes!

I guess my point to this is not to bag on the musicians and people of the world who are truly talented and are waiting for their opportunity to make it big as a singer/artist...As a music lover, I'm just frustrated with the reality TV stars and "celebs" who think they can sing and call themselves "recording artists." Forget the song on the radio that has poor lyrics and is all auto tuned and play Mayday Parade, more Eminem (edited of course) or more of the JB's and Greyson Michael Chance's of the world who are good and passionate about what they do and make things happen for themselves.

I guess my advice to you blogger friends who dream about making it big but have doubt can best be described in a monologue by Whoppi Goldburg in Sister Act 2:

"If you wake up in the morning and you can't think about anything but singin' first... then you're supposed to be a singer girl (or guy)!"

Maybe this is what drives Spedi?.....nah!
