Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros.

Thursday night I ventured out with a couple friends for my first Twilight Concert Series experience in SLC to see Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros.  I had only heard a couple of their songs before but loved the ones that I had heard and knew that it would be a good concert.  I mean, LOOK at them:

So fun!

*Rewind 3 hours*--Jenn goes to dentist for root canal. Jenn gets root canal.  Jenn complains about severe pain.  Jenn gets pain med prescription.  Jenn picks up pain med prescription.  Jenn goes straight to frontrunner to meet willy for concert.  (yeah right.. like I was going to miss the concert on the account of my numbness and intense pain. pshh!) Jenn takes pain meds at concert.  Jenn=dumb, a bit sleepy on the slower songs, a bit blah, but nevertheless, still had fun!

I loved everything about the atmosphere of the concert.  It was free, there were TONS of people there, henna tattoos, little vendors, sunshine, sweaty people toking up..you know.. the usual.

Here's a little taste of what you would have heard had you been at the concert:

(sorry it's live...so there may or may not be a swear or two. But really.. THAT's how fun and alive this band was the other night!)

Mix in a few "Let's have a round of applause for being alive" and "hello beautiful human beings" and thanking the world for trees and stars and such and that pretty much sums up the band and the concert in itself.  It was super inspirational and filled with Hippie Love :)

Most of the people there were super classy too and why do I always make friends with them?! I'm not sure.  It just happens.  The lortabs I took for my teeth might have had something to do with it a bit but I met a girl named megan.  She had tourquoise hair.  We had some good mini convos about her smoking habits, her tattoos and her love for the cancer symbol that she had tattoed on her wrist.  Nieko swore it looked like it said "69" instead.  Either way, it was weird. But for a brief 30 minutes or so, I'd say we were friends for sure. She was nice;)

I know what you're thinking, "Jenn, I really want to see this girl."  haha. Don't you fret.  Nieko made me take a pic with her JUST so you guys could see.  Typical..

bahahahahaha. clASSy.  See the kid with the brown hair in the brown shirt behind her?  He's standing like that because he's trying to hide his pipe.  Megan didn't know him but don't worry, he shared with her.  People at concerts are just so freaking nice :)

I won't even go into the story of the old drunk dude who played with my ear for a few seconds on the frontrunner.  It was like I didn't even know what was going on.  It just happened.  I guess I shouldn't have waved at him?  Whatever.  It was super funny after the fact.

Wow. Two times on the front runner in one week and it hasn't let me down yet.  *insert sarcastic thumbs down*

All in all it was a good time but we were EXHAUSTED after it was over.  I woke up the next morning and my shirt and my keys were on the floor next to the front door and kitchen counter. I guess I was THAT tired.  Who knows? ...Don't ask.

Well, my beautiful human beings--have a lovely Saturday! :)

In the midst of a crappy morning, you sometimes need a legit reason to smile...

...especially if you have to go back to the dentist again so they can get the dang job right. ugh. my life.

Well, Thank you Zac for being today's reason to smile :)...you sexy, sexy man you.

**I've posted so many pics of him in the last year that I'm worried I'm going to run out. But then I remember that these will never get old**

I seriously just now, on my lunch break, remembered that I bought one of these head massagers from Urban on Monday and haven't busted it out yet:

Only problem is that it's in Layton...I'm in Salt Lake...

and that's how I feel about the situation. [no pun intended] [actually pun totally intended]

....oh it's onnnn tonight.

Just let go--Out with the bad...In with the new and better

I always have so many topic ideas that pop into my head everyday based on things I'm doing at that certain time.  This last week was not an exception.

If you want to read about the little events of my weekend you can read here. [Just a little tid bit of information: I obviously don't post all of my posts to fbook.]

I thought of at least 4 great blog topics based on the events of last weekend but I remembered that I'm so open with my opinions with the people in my life that the individuals would know that I was referring to their life stories....even the blog titles would give them away...sooo.... to save me from having to explain myself or apologize about my occasional rudeness and honesty, I will just stick with a quick post about "Letting go."

We all have something that we know we need to let go of.  Hatred towards someone who offended us, a past love, a crush, a toxic friendship, fears or even insecurities.  I would classify these as anything that you know is making your life more stressful and dramatic than it needs to be. We've all had at least one of them.

Honestly, who are we kidding?  There are some things we just can't fix no matter how hard we try.  It's rough but why stress over the unfixable? If your favorite car is broken and all the glue and professional car fixers in the world can't put it back together..sooner or later you have to stop trying and move on.

Maybe things used to be good and it's hard for you to forget it and let go but the fact of the matter is that people change, circumstances change, feelings change and life in general changes.  As long as you are being honest with yourself and with others, there is nothing more you need to do. There will always be something new right around the corner.

You are allowed to have sad/stressful days and days where everyone around you thinks that you are being competely ridiculous but the beautiful thing is that you can choose how long you let it go on.

And if you're taking too long and your family or friends are trying to help you...just let them try:)

Out with the bad.  In with the new and BETTER!

**Note**yes, this is me having one of these life realizations today... even Jenn stresses about dumb things sometimes ;)

Bed before 2 AM? I don't understand..

It's official. I suck at weekend blogging. I think it's due to the fact that I work all day, hang out all night and get minimal sleep...The sad part is that the weekend is usually when all of the monumental blog topic happenings go down and by the time I have a minute to write it all down I have a hard time remembering what I even did two nights ago. It's sad, really.

So just let me do a combined post/recap of some of the thoughts I had based on the weekend:

1.) 24th of July in Utah=long weekend. I fully support everything about this. Even if it does mean that everyone does fireworks for the ENTIRE month of July.

2.) Why do I even go to the drive in? I mean, I totally love it but I never end up loving the movie because I don't pay attention to it [you're wrong.  It's because i'm making out or anything haha] I think I will have to watch Captain America again when it comes to redbox or something because my lack of interest in the movie as a whole kind of bothers me. I really was excited for it.

3.)Jiffpop is the shiz. It was {N}'s idea and well, I think we are all hooked. {A} and I were talking last night and decided we just need to buy it in bulk or something because it's perfect for every party. RIGHT,{A}? (lol) Fun to cook and fun to eat.

4.) Betos=Glorified taco truck. But I'll admit...the nachos were good!

5.) Sleeping on the Trampoline always sounds like a great idea on a perfect summer night.  {W} and I slept on the trampoline and sure, we felt like we had been hit by a bus when we woke up in the morning and we only got about 4 hours of sleep.. but it's funny what you can learn about someone when you put all pull crap or drama aside and you just talk about life in general.  It was fun.  It's confirmed though, I have even crazier dreams when I don't sleep in my own bed.  weird.

6.) I experienced my first trip on the frontrunner yesterday after living here for over a year.  Carli and I went shopping at the Gateway for our day off and long story short...we didn't check the schedule until we were ready to go and realized that they were running every hour and the next one left in 9 minutes or an hour and 9 minutes... we ran to the station (shorts falling off from lack of belt, SUPER full bellies from just finishing the best sandwhiches).  Right as we get to the station what happens? Bye-Bye frontrunner.  Did we spend the next hour laughing and cursing the frontrunner? yea. we did.  At least I got my head massager from Urban :)oot Woot!

... I think I will end it there. I'm too passionite about the other lessons learned from the weekened to simply recap.  I'll post later.

Oh, for those of you who need a little sugar rush pick-me-up today...I made these peanut butter nummers this weekend from here.

yum.   Later, homies.

The last 12 hours--Three things I never thought I would do:

1.) Let certain friends see me in real pain. I'm not talking about heartbreak, when my feelings are hurt or when I'm an emotional wreck.  I'm talking about the "omg, I don't know what to do, it hurts so freaking bad...AHHHH!" physical kind of pain followed with some tears.  Seriously, if I ever have a Charley Horse again, I swear I'm going to go 127 hours on that shiz and cut off my leg.  Pirates and peg legs are cool, right?

2.) Be convinced that I was legitimately seeing a UFO.  Now, don't worry. It turned out to be a plane. But me, {A} and {W} (not the beverage...real people) were freaking out for a minute.  It might be because we were talking about aliens and watching scurrrry youtube videos but it looked legit. ewwww I get the heebies just thinking about it.

3.) Get a Utah Drivers License.  Yep! As of this morning, it's official.  I passed the written test and everything..granted I was able to use the book, but still.  I honestly never thought that would happen but I guess I might as well make my living here official.  Utah plates for the new car ordered (check), Utah address for more than a year (check),  and now a Utah drivers license (check, check).. Omg, what is happening to me? !

Looks like I've moved from Potatoes to Mormon. Both good things. I guess I will stay for a little while :)

**Special thanks to {A} for rubbing my leg last night when I was in so much pain and a sarcastic/virtual "thumbs up" to {W} for laughing at me the whole time--Thanks, pals :)
